Hey, it's a superior and XYZ version of Fairy King
Truesdale! Fairy King Albverdich, is a Rank 4 XYZ
Monster, of the Earth attribute, and a Plant
Monster, who is XYZ Summoned with two Level 4 Earth
Monsters. Albverdich has 2300 attack and 1400
defense, which is merely all right...not weak per
say, but not strong for a Rank 4. Once a turn, by
discarding an XYZ Material from this card, all
non-Earth Monsters lose 500 attack and defense. For
starters, I think it's awesome that the effect
lowers attack and defense, and I really like that
the attack decrease is permanent, so it can be
cumulative if you keep Albverdich on the Field and
use the effect more than once. (Obviously have two
XYZ Material, that's 1000 point drop). Use and
enjoy, you could have a fun Earth Deck with a copy
or two of this.

We are going to stay with the Earth theme from
yesterday and review Fairy King Albverdich from
Return of the Duelist. Albverdich requires two level
four Earth monsters and makes all of your opponent’s
non-Earth monsters currently on the field loose 500
ATK and DEF. With 2300 attack, the Fairy King can
out duel any non-Earth monster with less than 2700
attack.
Like yesterday’s card, there are tons of decks that
you can use Fairy King Albverdich in. Here are
fourteen of those decks: Amazoness, Psychic, Geargia,
Gem-Knight, Gladiator, Gogogo, Gadget, Heroic
Challenger, Karakuri, Koa’Ki Meiru, Madolche,
Naturia, Scrap, and X-Saber.
If you are playing an Earth deck like the ones
above, you may with to try the Fair King out. The
problem that Fair king Albverdich has is that it is
competing with some pretty good Rank 4 monsters,
like Blade Armor Ninja (Warriors), Gear Gigant X
(Machines), Gem-Knight Pear, Heroic Champion –
Excalibur, Kachi Kochi Dragon, Maestroke the
Symphony Djinn, Number 39: Utopia, Photon
Papilloperative, Queen Dragun Djinn (Dragons),
Steelswarm Roach, plus a bunch of 3x4 Xyz monsters.
Fairy King Albverdich may only find room in a few
decks, but it can be useful in the right situations
and gives you another option from your extra deck.

I got no snappy opening, so i'll just cut to the
chase for Fairy King Albverdich. A Rank 4
EARTH/Plant-Type Xyz monster, with 2300 ATK and 1400
DEF. Fairy King needs 2 level 4 EARTH monsters to
Xyz summon.
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz material from
this card; all non EARTH monster currently on the
field lose 500 ATK and DEF.
Scrap, Gadgets, and all other types of EARTH decks
can really use this card. Block Golem and Revival
Golem work very well to get this card out. One thing
I've always said, is that sometimes all you need is
more muscle. Fairy King may not give muscle, but it
can take it away big time. Even a 500 point drop in
either ATK or DEF can be just enough to get over and
win the duel. Fairy King's stats are almost enough
to have him get over a lot of monsters before and
after using his effect. Smart EARTH duelists will
know how to use this card, and use it well.

Hello everyone and welcome back
to our CotD! Today we have the counterpart of the
infamous, or at least infamous before it was
errata’d, Fairy King Truesdale for those who
remember it being released.

2 Level 4 EARTH monsters
“Once per turn: You can detach

DEF.”
So today we have another
generic XYZ monster that doesn’t really see too much
play outside of earth decks, but it is
understandable. This card can shine very brightly
for the sole reason that it can basically run over
any non-earth monster with 2700 ATK or less, but it
could easily be taken down next turn, so there is
the downside for that good effect. This card is very
simple and very straight forward.
This card barely missed the
mark for being a great card, and possibly a higher
rarity. If it’s attack was 2500, or at the very
least 2400 it would be seeing a lot more play
outside of Gadget and Six Samurai decks. It would
have been great for a monarch to at least ram into
it instead of topple it over, but image how great it
could have been if you were able to go into a
head-on collision with BLS?!
Pros: Can take out stronger
monsters, but not by much.
