I think I've mentioned before, cards with THUNDER
in their name should be THUNDER type Monsters, but I
digress. Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon, is a Rank
4 XYZ Monster, XYZ Summoned with with 3 Level 4
Monsters. I'm almost immediately turned off by that,
especially considering it only has 2400 attack and
2000 defense. Being a Dragon is good, as they are
well supported, so what does he do? By discarding
all three XYZ Material, you can destroy all face-up
Monsters your opponent controls. That should really
be all Monsters, not just face-up, as that is only
half your problem. Ignoring back row, and any
face-down your opponent controls. By discarding five
XYZ Material, destroy all cards your opponent
controls. Obviously that's excellent, but we're in a
fast, aggressive, countering Format. He's not the
best at what he does, and the cost is pretty
ridiculous. There need to be more ways (there aren't
many) to recycle and/or transfer XYZ Material to
other Monsters.

Today's card is a favorite of mine from Return of
the Duelist, Number 91: Thunder Spark Dragon. A Rank
4 LIGHT/Dragon Xyz monster. With the decent stats of
2400 ATK and 2000 DEF, and needs 3 level 4 monsters.
Once per turn you can activate one of these
effects:
Detach 3 Xyz materials from this card; Destroy
all other face up monsters on the field.
Detach 5 Xyz materials from this card; Destroy
all cards your opponent controls.
I really like this card because you can really
build a good LIGHT/Thunder deck around this card.
The best way to do so are the new Hunder family (PaHunder,
MaHunder and SisHunder) along with Thunder King Rai-Oh
along with Spirit Converter and Overlay Regen. Can
get you Thunder Spark Dragon out and loaded with 5
Xyz material to wipe out your opponent's side of the
field. Gadgets can use that one Ultimate Offering as
well. Yeah you will most likely go through your
whole hand but it could pay off just by wiping out
your opponent's field, leaving you with the only
card on the field. Even removing just 3 Xyz
materials can get you an open shot and might win the
duel. Yeah, Veilers and other cards like Bottomless
and Torrential can put the kabosh on Thunder Spark
Dragon, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Yeah,
I like this card.

Today we have yet another Number card. #91 needs
3 Lv. 4 Monsters to get out, but since it can be any
LV. 4 monsters, that makes him playable. His stats
for a Rk. 4 are pretty good, but it's his effects
that are the real killer. While it's a once only
effect, he can either net you a Raigeki effect or a
Raigeki PLUS a Harpie's Feather Duster effect along
with it! Getting the second effect takes major
effort, but is possible with the right build. I
wouldn't be surprised to see this card appear in
tournament-level decks as a 'just in case' board
clearer as it can be that good... Under the right
circumstances, of course. Needing three Lv. 4
Materials hurts his usability somewhat, but not
enough to avoid using him at all.
