Reasoning Magic Card Your opponent calls a
Monster Card Level. You then pick up (not draw)
cards from the top of your Deck until a monster is
picked up. If that monster is the same Level as the
one called by your opponent, all picked up cards are
sent to the Graveyard. If not, Special Summon the
monster that was picked up in face-up Attack or
Defense Position and send the remaining cards that
were picked up to the Graveyard.

Reasoning? Reasoning is currently Semi-Restricted
and one of those cards (outside of a freaky Magical
Scientist OTK/FTK in Traditional) something that
really requires its own Deck to truly be effective,
short of pure lucksack. Well, even if Reasoning
works right, it's still a great piece of lucksack,
in my opinion. If I were to use a Reasoning Deck,
I'd be using Monster Gate too (similar too, yet
different from, requiring a Tributed Monster for
starters). For those of you who like playing high
level Monsters (and there are plenty of us around)
I'd be tempted to use Reasoning, and cater my Deck
for that purpose. I'd throw in a handful of Level 6
Monsters (say 3-5) a few Level 7 and 8 Monsters, and
see what happens. I'd throw in some recycle cards,
cards that allow you to retrieve cards you lose and
dump via Reasoning (and/or Monster Gate). But use
this to summon things like Dark Magician, Blue Eyes,
heck maybe even in an Exodia Deck. It's certainly
one of the more fun cards to use in the game.
Ratings:
Traditional: It's actually solid in Traditional,
maybe more than Advanced, if only because of combos
with Magical Scientist...3.5/5
Advanced: Potential for sure, but for (arguably at
least not being better in Advanced) 3.5/5

Reasoning was increased to two per deck with the
last Ban/Restricted list. It was at one because it
was a great special summoning tool and could load
the graveyard easily. Cards that depend on having a
lot of cards in the graveyard benefited from
Reasoning. The benefit you get from special
summoning is the effect that I am going to expound
on today.
You want to play Reasoning in a deck that has many
different levels in order to increase your chances
of special summoning a monster. A deck like
Six-Samurai’s would benefit greatly from having two
Reasonings in the deck as it can play everything
from level 1 to level 7. It does not do well in a
deck that plays flip effect monsters, Spirit
monsters, monsters that can not be special summoned,
or ones that play mostly level 3 and 4 monsters.
Reasoning is a very effective card in the right
deck.

Today we look at Reasoning, a card that is now at
the semi-limited status. It's simple for a card that
has a lot of text. Your opponent calls a level and
you keep revealing cards until you get to a monster
that can be normal summoned, if that monster matches
the level your opponent called, send all cards
revealed to the graveyard. If the monster revealed
is different, you can special summon that monster
and send all other cards to the graveyard. This card
is useful in a few decks, but I've had and seen the
most of this card in a Six Samurai deck. Their
levels are all over the place, and the odds of your
opponent getting what they call are in your favor.
Although, this card can backfire as most Spirit
monsters can't be special summoned, including
Tsukyomi. Also this card is pretty good at thinning
your deck, depending on how deep you dig for that
monster. This card still can be good in certain
decks, like Samurais and even a decent Batteryman
build, but it's not for all decks.
