Here's a card some players who haven't been around a
LONG time might not be familiar with, Tsukuyomi.
You're allowed one Book of Moon at present, but I
think Tsuku is a superior choice in about any
situation. We don't have Magician of Faith legal at
present, but this is the kind of card coming back
that can really shake up a Format. Tsuku can be
used offensively and defensively, like Book of Moon,
but being a Spirit Monster, has the potential to be
used more than once. Granted it doesn't bounce back
to your Hand if Special Summoned, only when Normal
or Flipped, but you're not likely to ever Special
Summon Tsuku anyway. I think you're more likely to
use Tsuku offensively, and more likely to use Book
of Moon defensively. Both cards, while doing
similar things, work in different situations. But
the ability to stop an attack or reuse an effect
isn't to be taken lightly.

Our last card of the week is a card that has not
seen the light of day in an advanced format in six
years. Tsukuyomi was last seen in 2006, causing your
monsters to go face down , then retreating back to
the hand, only to return a turn later to do more
damage by forcing one of your monsters to go face
down yet again. A level 4 Spellcaster-Type/Spirit
monster, with 100 ATK and 1400 DEF.
This card cannot be special summoned. This card
returns to the owner's hand during the endphase of
the turn it was normal summoned or flipped face up.
When this card is normal summoned, or flipped face
up, target 1 face up monster on the field and turn
it into face down defense position.
This card has two things it is good for. Solving
the problem that bigger monsters present by turning
them face down in defense position and attacking it
or using Nobleman of Crossout on it. And the second
thing is re-using monsters that has flip effects,
like Ryko, Penguin Soldier and Snowman Eater. Since
Tsukuyomi goes back to the hand at the endphase you
normal or flipped it face up, I would hope you have
another monster on the field. I can see why it was
brought back at 1, seeing how this is a format that
heavily relies on special summoning like crazy and
this card can turn all that work into dust just by
summoning it and getting rid of bigger monsters by
hitting them where it hurts, usually by having a
weak defense stat. Some people weren't too happy to
see it return, some were. I'm on the fence. I think
this card is worth a spot in a Spellcaster build, or
Wind-Ups to get the most out of them. If you can't
find a place for it in your main deck, im sure
there's a spot for it in your side deck.

I have to admit to being surprised that the big T
was finally taken off the banned list, but then
again, flip-effect monsters don't see as much play
these days as they used to. Tsukuyomi has one
purpose in any deck: to let you get another use out
of your flip-effect monsters. There aren't that many
that are used nowadays, but Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter
and Gravekeeper's Spy do still see consistent play,
so this card can really speed up decks that use
those cards. I wouldn't be surprised to see this
start showing up in Gravekeeper's, Lightsworn and
Chaos Dragon decks (which need a boost after being
handicapped by the restriction of Red-Eyes Darkness
Metal Dragon). A good effect that isn't as useful as
it used to be, so it was definitely time for her to
come back to the legal side of play.
