Mermail Abysstrite
- #CBLZ-EN050 3 Level 3 monsters
During either player's turn, when your opponent targets exactly 1 face-up "Mermail" monster you control for an attack, or with a Spell/Trap effect that could have targeted this card (except during the Damage Step): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; that attack/effect now targets this card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Mermail" monster in your Graveyard, except "Mermail Abysstrite"; Special Summon that target.

Mermail Abysstrite is a Rank 3 XYZ Monster, and a
Water attributed Sea Serpent, with 1600 attack but
an incredibly awesome 2800 defense. She is XYZ
Summoned with three Level 3 Monsters. Make no
mistake, this girl is good, adding a lot of good
things to an all ready powerful Archtype. When
exactly one face-up Mermail Monster you control is
targeted for an attack, or with an effect of a Magic
or Trap card that could have targeted this card, by
discarding an XYZ Material, you can switch the
attack or target of said card to this card. It would
be nice if the effect wasn't so specific, ie it
didn't have to specifically target just one face-up
Mermail, but protection is always a good thing!
Furthermore, when destroyed and sent to the
Graveyard, you can Special Summon a Mermail Monster
from your Graveyard. Excluding the present company
of course, She does lots, protection, Special
Summon, you definitely play her in the Deck.

Let’s look into another Mermail Xyz monster that
came in Cosmo Blazer. This monster’s effect is a
huge wall of text which isn’t normally a bad thing.
Let’s see if this wall of text actually does
something good.
Mermail Abysstrite
Attribute- Water
Types- Sea Serpent/ Xyz/ Effect
Rank 3
3 level 3 monsters
During either player's turn, when your opponent
targets exactly 1 face-up "Mermail" monster you

this card; that attack/effect now targets this card.
When this card is destroyed and sent to the
Graveyard: You can target 1 "Mermail" monster in
your Graveyard, except "Mermail Abysstrite"; Special
Summon that target.
ATK/1600 DEF/2800
Abysstrite can help to protect your other Mermail
monsters from attacks and effect’s that target
outside of the damage step. Also if this monster is
destroyed and sent to the grave you can special
summon another Mermail monster from your grave other
than this card. This monster does look like a bad
card at first because it needs 3 level 3 monsters to
make. This card is actually pretty good when
combined with Bahamut Shark. The shark can special
summon Abysstrite and then she can be used as a
defensive wall or a way to bring back your monsters.
It really is a pretty nice card that can be very
useful in a Mermail deck if you run Bahamut shark.
Without this shark, Abysstrite isn’t worth using at
all.
Advanced: 3.5/5
-In Mermail decks this card is a good card. Just
make sure to use Bahamut Shark if you are going to
use this card.

Next up we have a Mermail Xyz monster Mermail
Abysstrite. Mermail Abysstrite is already off to a
good start being a Rank 3, so it’s easy for Water
decks to get out, but it is also a Rank 3 with 2800
DEF! That is going to protect your life points for
quite a while. Also it has two effects, so let’s
look at them.
The first effect is very similar to the trap card
Shift. Let’s be honest no-one ever played Shift when
it first came out and no-one plays it now, but make
it a monster effect and things change. For 1 with
that high DEF it will make the opponent think twice
about attacking. Also it might help get off effect
number 2.
Mermail Abysstrite’s second effect requires it to be
destroyed and sent to the grave. If it is you
can special summon any other Mermail monster from
your grave. Another good effect, with no
restrictions barring it has to be a Mermail monster.
Overall two really good effects, easy to summon and
really good DEF, means that this will see plenty of
play in WATER decks.
