Another day, another Noble Arms Magic card. Noble Arms-Caliburn is an Equip Magic card, as you might have guessed. This card can only be equipped to a Warrior and the chosen Monster gains 500 attack. Once per turn you can gain 500 Lifepoints, which probably is negligible, but a gain nonetheless. If this face-up card were to be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can target a face-up Noble Knight card you control and equip this to that Monster. You can only use the effect of this card once per turn. As far as Noble Arms Magic cards, this is one of the better ones. 500 attack increase may not be HUGE, but it's not bad either, Lifepoint gain, and it can reuse itself. If you really need it, try one.

Noble Arms - Caliburn is another equip spell for the Noble Knights. You can control only 1 face up copy of this card, and once per turn you can gain 500 LP. It can only be equipped to a Warrior-type monster and it gains an extra 500 ATK. If this face up card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, you can target one Warrior-type Noble Knight monster you control and and equip this card to that target. You can only do this once per turn. This makes for a very hard card to get rid of, as your opponent has to destroy it twice in a turn or try to overpower the equipped monster that could have well over 2000 ATK. The 500 LP gain is nice added bonus. Hidden Arsenal is a great way to get this card or other Noble Arms cards to your hand.

Today we are looking at: Noble Arms – Caliburn

“You can only control 1 face-up "Noble Arms - Caliburn". Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. It gains 500 ATK. Once per turn: You can gain 500 Life Points. You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms - Caliburn" once per turn.”

This is a really cool card for Noble Knight Deck’s as it gives a solid boost and gives back some life points. But I really wish they had given it something more game defining. Heck, even 1000 life points per turn could help sway the game for Noble Knights. As it stands right now I am not really even a fan of it in Noble Knight Deck’s even though they are pretty well forced to play at least one copy as there are currently no other better Noble Arm equip cards. Maybe in the future Konami will release some better support for them? (Hint Hint, wink wink, nudge nudge. Please konami?)

Today's Card of the Day Review happens to be Noble Arms - Caliburn, the Super Rare out of Cosmo Blazer and also the Sneak Peak Ultra Rare Promo Card.

It is an Equip Spell made for the Noble Knight archetype. With that said, here is the card text for those who doesn't know:
"You can only control 1 face-up "Noble Arms - Caliburn". Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. It gains 500 ATK. Once per turn: You can gain 500 Life Points. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Warrior-Type "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms - Caliburn" once per turn."

For starters, this card offers a 500 ATK boost for any Warrior-type equipped to it. With Medraut, that makes him a solid 2200 ATK with this equipped. Also, by activating this card's effect, you get a free 500 Life Points a turn and free is almost always good to have.

With Medraut able to Special Summon monsters so easily and also purposely popping the Noble Arms so it can be re-equipped, you can use this effect at least 2-3 times a turn, giving you a free 1000-1500 Life Points, making Solemn Warning a lot more live in this format.

Unfortunately, that is about the full strength of it. Gallatin does give a 1000 ATK boost, which is far more relevant while, at the same time, the ATK decrease is so small that by the time it is something to be worried about, the card would be popped and transferred to something else.

I can see this being ran at 1 copy strictly as a tech because of the free Life Points, which can help you win the game if it ever goes to time, but I doubt it will see any more play than that. Gallatin is almost always better for the course.

Traditional Format: 1/5 (It's very bad there. There is more effective ways of gaining Life Points or ATK in that format.)

Advanced Format: 2/5 (It's only good enough as a tech whenever you need immediate Life Point gain. Otherwise, just run 3x Gallatin.)

Equip Spell

Next we have a new Noble Arms, Noble Arms – Caliburn.  Noble Arms – Caliburn can only be equipped to a Warrior and you can only have 1 of these at a time. Okay that’s the conditions done but what about the effects. First off the equipped monster gains 500 ATK, a decent ATK increase and you also gain 500 Life Points each turn, again a decent increase. Of course the main party piece is that if it’s destroyed it can be equipped to a Noble Knight. Reusable Equip cards are a nice effect and it’s good that it doesn’t do something stupid like return to the top of your deck.

Overall a solid equip card, naturally it will see more play in a Noble Knight deck, but normal warrior decks would get a bit of use out of this as well.
