Continuing to look at Hidden Arsenal 7 cards this week, save Friday, we open with an XYZ Monster in Tin Archduke. This is a Rank 4, Earth attributed, Machine XYZ Monster, who isn't the strongest of his Rank with only 2200 attack (and 1200 defense) but he doesn't need to be that strong.

Machine is well supported obviously, and gives him some playability in certain Decks of course. His effect lets you discard an XYZ Material, during either player's turn, to switch the Battle Position of an opponent's Monster. You can only do it once a turn, but for one plus, as stated, during yours or your opponents.

Furthermore, flip effects aren't activated, for a second bonus. It would be nice if he had 200 or 300 extra attack, but even at 2200 he's not awful. Does the Extra Deck have space for Tin Archduke? Probably not, I mean, there are certainly better Rank 4 Monsters, but there are certainly worse as well.

We continue with cards from the new Hidden Arsenal #7 set this week and start off with Tin Archduke, a rank 4 Machine monster that takes 3 level 4 monsters to make. Tin Archduke has a nice effect, but I am not sure the expense of 3 monsters is worth it. There are not a lot of flip effect monsters being used in the game at this time. Ryko and Morphing Jar are the main ones and they are only being used in a few decks. The top tier decks are aggressive and are all about summoning quickly and doing as much damage as quickly as possible.

Tin Archduke has four great things going for it that may make it playable. First, it negates flip effects. Second, it turns defense position monsters to attack position or attack position monsters to defense. Third, it can be activated on ether player’s turn. And finally, it is a Machine so it works well with Limiter Removal. 2200 in attack may not seem like much, but it will be able to attack over most defense position monsters. With Limiter Removal, Tin Archduke becomes a 4400 attacker and can do quite a pit of damage over the low attack flip effect monsters.

The Quick effect that Tin Archduke harbors is pretty nice. It can be used for offense or defense. It can be used to push through your opponent’s defense or to stop your opponent from attacking. The problem with finding extra deck space for Tin Archduke is that there are better cards that require 3 level 4 monsters, like Evilswarm Ouroboros, Vylon Disigma, and Number 16: Shock Master to name a few. Sorry Archduke, but even though you may be royalty, your 3 level 4 costs are just too great to make it in the current Meta.

Today we are looking at: Tin Archduke

“3 Level 4 monsters

Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 monster your opponent controls; change its battle position. (Flip Effects are not activated.)”

This is a kind of cool take on the battle position changer, but at the same cost as Shock Master I think I would choose the latter rather than the former. Clearly this is meant to be archetype support, and it does that well, though with creepy art. It would even surpass Meastroke (In my opinion) IF it cost one less monster to make. (Being able to chain the battle position change would be worth the lack of destruction protection.)
Altogether I would use it if I had room and wanted to play something weird, but the cost AND the cramped extra deck space pretty much make this a theme deck only card right now.

Today's Card of the Day is an Xyz Monster from the Hidden Arsenal 7 booster set: Tin Archduke.

It is a Rank 4 EARTH Machine Xyz Monster with 2200 ATK and 1200 DEF that takes a hefty 3 Level 4 monsters to Summon.

Its effect is basically one portion of Enemy Controller that can be used during either player's turn that allows you to change a monster's Battle Position by detaching an Xyz Material from this card.

Unfortunately, this card is lacking massively in frankly everything. The effect is inferior to Book of Moon since the effect does not stop Xyz Summons or the activation of monster effects, its 2200 ATK is very low giving the fact that you need 3 Level 4 to Xyz Summon it, it is a Machine so it happens to be Cyber Dragon bait, and the 1200 DEF means it can't take a decent hit if it were to be switched to Defense Position.

There is not much to talk about this card, good or bad. Even worse, there is nothing good to say about it. Enemy Controller is more flexible, faster, costs so much less in card advantage.

Don't bother playing this card. It's just that bad. If you need that kind of effect, even Tsukuyomi would be a more fitting use for you. Heck, we already got an Xyz Monster that works better than this that also costs less to summon.

*points to Maestroke*

I feel sorry for anyone who pulls a ton of this card. It is truly a waste of cardboard.
