Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh! Card of the Day

 Orbital 7
- #CBLZ-EN020

When this card is flipped face-up: Place 1 You Got It Boss! Counter on it. You can remove all You Got It Boss! Counters on this card; its ATK becomes 2000. After you change this card's ATK with this effect, it cannot attack your opponent directly for the rest of this turn, and is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase. You can Tribute this card to target 1 "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand.

Master Kite, you're reviewing me? Who knew I was a card too? This is a Light attributed Machine, both of which are good things, and Level 4 with a miserable 500 attack but a respectable 2000 defense. Orbital 7 is dependent on a Flip effect, ie when flipped face-up, and being done so by being destroyed will make all of this irrelevant mind you, but let's say you get to do so, you place a You Got It Boss Counter on this card. By removing said counter(s) from this card, it's attack becomes 2000. But that's about the only good side here. Orbital 7 can't attack directly and is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase. However, as much as that isn't great, you can Tribute this card to add a Photon or Galaxy Monster from your Graveyard to your Hand. That might warrant this card having a spot in said Deck, but even then it still might be a waste of a spot.

Today we are looking at: Orbital 7

“When this card is flipped face-up: Place 1 “You Got It Boss!” Counter on it. You can remove all You Got It Boss! Counters on this card; its ATK becomes 2000. At first glance he may not seem like much, however it can do some crazy combo flipping. For starters, it has a low enough attack to use machine duplication and go into any rank 4 monster, and Debris dragon works well with him too. Aside from that he also has a nifty effect that can boost him over most boss monsters running around; provided he can survive a turn so he gets his counter. (And with 2000 def he has a good shot at it.) I could see some weird photon swarm deck making an impact in the future, but it might not be until after the Meta slows down in a couple formats.

Bottom line: I like this card, and I love photons, so I hope they get some glue support to make them a tier 1 deck. Until then we wait.

Advanced: 4/5 (I believe in him!)

Traditional: 1/5 (I don’t see him working in traditional.)

Okay today we have a machine monster from Cosmo Blazer. It’s a card that hasn’t really seen any competitive play but maybe it should. Let’s see what this guy can do!!

ATK/500 DEF/2000

This monster is actually a pretty good card. It probably should only be played in a Galaxy/Photon deck, but it can be used in other decks too. The first important thing about this monster is that it has 500 attack points. That might seem pretty bad but this low attack means that Machine Duplication can be used with it. That means you can summon three of these monsters and then use them for Xyz summons and/or their decent ignition effect. It is also a level 4 monster so with machine duplication you can go straight into shock master or any other rank 4 monster you need. Not only can this monster work well with cards like Machine Duplication but it can also be used for defense or even offense using the You Got It Boss! Counters. Overall this monster has a lot of versatility and is an underrated card.

Advanced: 3/5
-I liked this card as soon as I saw the name of its counters. It isn’t a fantastic monster on its own but it can be very good in a Photon/Galaxy deck. Even though this monster is good I am giving it an average score because it is a little slow on its own. It definitely has a lot of potential and could become better if more Photon/Galaxy support is released.

Tradition: 1.5/5
-It’s slow but is a light monster. It’s not too great in this format but still fun to use.

Art: 4/5
I like this card’s art. The monster looks okay but the background art is what makes it look really cool.

An anime character becomes a card, strange but true as Kaito’s robot servant gets his own card. Being the servant of ZeXal’s main Photon and Galaxy user, Orbital 7 is unsurprisingly a Photon and Galaxy support card.

Orbital 7 has two main effects, first is a bit of a fun effect, when he is flipped face up he gets a “You Got It Boss!” Counter. What a great name for a counter, ahem, if he has a “You Got It Boss!” Counter, you can remove them all, and his ATK becomes 2000, which is really good for a level 4. However he can’t attack directly and he will be sent to the graveyard at the end of the turn, which seems like a bit much just because he gets an ATK boost.

However that is when his second effect kicks in, you can tribute him and get back a "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster from your graveyard into your hand.  So you can increase his attack, destroy an opponent’s monster and then get back another monster from your graveyard.

Overall a fun card and might be handy in a "Photon" or "Galaxy" deck, it might be for all decks especially since he isn’t a "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster, so that does hurt some of his playability
