Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth is one hell of a Monster.
If you somehow manage to get this girl on the
Field, you're going to cause a world of hell,
perhaps for both players. We have a Level 11, Dark
attributed, Fairy, with 3600 attack and 3400
defense. Great stats, although I prefer my Fairies
to be Light.
In order to Special Summon her, and you can ONLY do
so in this manner, and only from your Hand (no
Normal Summon or Set) by removing a Fusion, Ritual,
XYZ, and Synchro Monster from the Field. Note not
YOUR Field, but the Field. This card needs her own
Deck, but the part that seems to leave you wondering
is even if you build it, is it enough to win on?
You should win the Duel simply for pulling off the
Special Summon, which you will if you somehow
actually do, as her Special Summon can't be negated.
When this card is Special Summoned, remove ALL
CARDS from both players hands, Fields, and
Graveyards. Oh, and cards and effects cannot be
activated in response to this cards effect.
She's Fiber Jar on crack, oh and with 3600 attack.
That enough can likely win you a Duel right there.
It's one of the most powerful and certainly fun
cards to come out in a while. On a playability
scale, she's likely a 1/5, but she could completely
wreck and win games.

I am not sure why our card today is has “Rebirth”
in it. It should have been called Sophia, Goddess of
Unstoppable Oblivion as it banishes everything in
sight and it can not be stopped. In order to run
this card in a deck, you would have to have a deck
dedicated to it’s summon. The requirements of having
a Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, and XYZ monster on the
field is a lot to ask out of any deck. Even though
you can use your opponent’s monsters, you are still
looking at having three different special summoned
monsters on the field at the same time. Normally, if
you have three or four of the above monsters, you
are probably going to win anyways.
So what type of deck could Sophia, Goddess of
Rebirth see the light of day in? It is going to need
to be a deck that can special summon like crazy.
Then you will have to modify it to summon the
special summoned monsters it is not built to summon.
Basically, you are looking at a combination of
several decks. You’re going to need tuners, so
Spore, Plaguespreader, Laval’s, and Fable’s may be a
good add. Most decks can play Effect Veiler as well.
The Fusion is as easy as playing Instant Fusion and
the Xyz monster is as easy as having two of the same
level monster on the field. The main sticking point
is the Ritual monster. Gishki decks are really good
at getting the Rituals out. As the Ritual monster is
probably going to be the hardest monster to bring
out, a Gishki hybrid or maybe Demise, King of
Armageddon deck may be the best deck to modify.
Once you summon the monsters you need during the
game, you can always bring them back to the field
with Call of the Haunted and Monster Reborn. I will
give you one last deck idea to ponder. Try a Fairy
deck with Harold. Use Ritual Foregone to summon
Harold and stop your opponent from ruining your plan
with its ability to negate. Then play Instant
Fusion. Summon Venus and get three Shine Balls out.
Xyz two Shine Balls, and bounce the other one with
Birdman. Synchro the Birdman and Venus. Then say
hello to Sophia. Granted, you will need all six
cards in your hand, but it can be done without much
modification to an already existing deck type.
Who are we kidding? First, Sophia has too many
requirements to summon it. Second, those
requirements do not fit well in the same deck.
Finally, Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth is a dead draw
almost every time. At level 11, we can’t even use it
for Trade-In. Sorry Sophia, but as great and
powerful as you are; you are just too demanding to
bring out.

This card looks really great
until you read the effect closely and note it has to
be one of each. If you get it on the field you
should win, but how often will that happen? Even in
a deck based around him it would pretty well take a
heart of the cards moment, or five, to pull that
off. I don’t really like her, at least if she was
water she could pay water discard costs.

club of eleven star monsters.)

Welcome back to Hidden Arsenal Week! Today we have
the big boss of the entire Duel Terminal Story line
here, a destroyer of the entire plane of existence
known to the Duel Terminal Saga. Lets take a look at
Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth

3600/3400
Out of many cards I have seen in my day... this is
by far one of the most interesting. First of all, it
has one of the weirdest combination of stats,
attribute, and type. A level 11 dark fairy? With the
most interesting 3600 attack points (fun fact, she
is the only main deck monster that has 3600 attack
points printed; the other being Super Vehicroid -
Stealth Union in the extra deck).
In terms of effect, it is incredibly powerful. It
has Egyptian G-d summoning protection, where they
cannot activate any effects in response to its
summon and the summon cannot be negated. Then, you
banish every other card on the field, hand, and
graveyard; which they cannot respond to with any
effect (Veiler, Breakthrough Skill, Fiendish Chain,
etc etc). Think Chaos Emperor Dragon on steroids as
you can make a push with higher attack points than
the mighty CED could, as you will be able to make
constant pushes (depending on what your opponent
draws of course).
However, to summon this mighty creature, you have
banish one of each "special summon" monster from the
field. As such, to build a deck around Sophia means
you should be running Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, and
xyz monsters. Wow. However, this isn't as bad as it
sounds.
One deck that many people on the forums have thought
about using is a combination of Gishki and Heroes.
This fullfills the ritual and fusion part. All you
need from there is Deep Sea Diva (with Vision as a
target) to summon xyz and synchro monsters. However,
don't forget it is from anywhere on the field, so
you can summon Sophia by using your opponent's
Evolzar Laggia or Shooting Quasar Dragon (if you
manage to get out your pieces without them negating
of course).
In general, Sophia is meant to be a card to be used
in a fun deck and as a ending piece to the Duel
Terminal story line. Its something fun that you
should try and mess around with!
Advanced: 3.0
Its not bad at all; however it requires extreme deck
dedication to really pull it off.
Traditional: 1.5
You have many better things to be doing here; cards
that can do almost exactly the same thing without
the high cost.

Sombres and Evilswarm Kerkyion in the palms of her
hands.
