Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus...that's a
mouthful of a name. XYZ Monster, Rank 5, XYZ
Summoned with two Level 5 Noble Knight Monsters.
Light and Warrior are excellent and well supported,
but the 2200 attack leaves something to be desired,
as does the defense of equal value. This card
functions well on Equip Magic cards, of its specific
type, as many of these Monsters do. That does hurt
playability but does explain the low attack, at
least I figure. When XYZ Summoned, you can target
and equip 3 Noble Arms Magic cards from your
Graveyard to this card. I'd prefer him to be
stronger originally as attack boosting in this
manner is generally unreliable. The effect of
discarding an XYZ Material to target and destroy
another Monster on the Field is useful and welcome.
As is being able to target and Special Summon a
Level 4 or higher Noble Knight Monster from your
Graveyard when this card is merely sent to the
Graveyard.

We switch from Monarchs to Noble Knights today
with Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus. As you
can guess, today’s card is very similar to the other
Xyz Noble Knight monster Artorigus, King of the
Noble Knights. They both attach up to three Noble
Arms card to themselves and while Artorigus King
destroys trap cards, King Artorigus destroys
monsters giving you answers to what ever ales you.
Summoning Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus is
not that difficult. We can do it in two ways. The
first way is to have two level 5 Noble Knights on
the field. There is only one level 5 Noble Knight,
Knight of Black Laundsallyn, and it is not that
good. However, we have two Noble Knights, Noble
Knight Borz and Noble Knight Medraut, that become a
level 5 when a Noble Arms card is attached. If you
are playing Effect Veilers, you can also make a
level 5 Synchro monster in Ignoble Knight of High
Laundsallyn. Summoning our Sacred monster is as easy
as summoning Noble Knight Medraut, attaching a Noble
Arms card, using the effect to special summon Noble
Knight Borz, attach the Noble Arms card sent to the
grave from Medraut to Borz, use Borz effect to get
another Noble Arms card and attach it to Medraut.
Now both Borz and Medraut will be at level 5 and
after you Xyz summon Sacred Noble Knight of King
Artorigus, will have three Noble Arms cards to
attach to it thanks to Borz.
The second way to summon Sacred Noble Knight of King
Artorigus is with the card, Noble Arms – Excaliburn.
With Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights on the
field, you can remove Excaliburn from the graveyard
and Xyz summon Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus
using the Artorigus you have on the field as
material.
Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus does not have
the greatest attack at 2200, but with Noble Arms
cards having effects that protect your monster from
destruction, increases its attack by 1000, and can
destroy set cards, not to mention Artorigus’s
destruction effect, I would say that it can be very
effective. The issue that I have with the Noble
Night theme is three fold. First, it is dependant on
equip cards which is never a good thing as it can
create negative card advantage for you when your
monster is destroyed. Second, it has dependency
issues as you need a Noble Knight and a Noble Arms
card to make anything happen. Finally, it is not
explosive enough in this format to make the big
pushes necessary to win games. It does have some
consistency and the built in mechanics of the Noble
Arms cards help with some of the deficiencies.
Overall, I would give the theme a B- and the rating
on this card will reflect that.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Today's review covers
Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus, the premier
XYZ monster for the Noble Knight archetype and a
nasty addition to the deck.
Light/Warrior/ATK 2000/DEF 2000
2 Level 5 "Noble Knight" monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target up to
3 "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Cards with different
names in your Graveyard; equip those targets to this
card. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material
from this card, then target 1 other monster on the
field; destroy that target. If this card on the
field is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1
Level 4 or higher "Noble Knight" monster in your
Graveyard; Special Summon that target.
First off, let's look at the requirements to make
this guy. You can only do it with 2 level 5 Noble
Knight monsters, so your only options are Medraut,
Borz, and Lancelot. However, the nasty combo to set
this guy up only requires two cards and gives you a
monstrous field presence.
First, like any great Noble Knight play, you start
with Medraut. Give him any Noble Arm aside from
Excaliburn, (use its effect if you can), then summon
Borz. Equip Borz with the Noble Arm from Medraut,
use his effect, dump any Noble Arms you want
(Gallatin, Destiny, Caliburn, if not already
present) and then give whatever equip you get to
Medraut (it doesn't matter what.) Now XYZ for the
King, give him Gallatin, Destiny, and Caliburn, and
boom, now you have a 3200 beatstick that can destroy
monsters at will, can't be targeted, can't be
destroyed, and has weapons that re-equip.
Now let's say your opponent counters this almighty
offensive. Somehow they force the King off the
field. Well, when he's destroyed, you get to summon
a level 4 or lower Noble Knight from your grave. Medraut,
anyone? Oh, and any applicable Noble Arms that were
on the King will now re-equip to Medraut. So you
can do it all over again.
OR, if you want to go to the other way and destroy
backrow, simply use Excaliburn's secondary effect to
switch which king you have out. Either way in a
good setup you come out with a 3000+ beater capable
of destroying monsters or backrow.
This monster is a tremendous addition to the Noble
Knight deck. I played with this deck at my last
Regionals, and the only way I had anyone get around
this was to either stop the summon completely, or in
one (crappy) case, creature swap me on his first
turn after I'd set it up. Once he's on the field,
it's a nightmare to stop.
Traditional: 1/5, I love it, but I'm not sure NKs
would do well here
Advanced: 5/5 in his own deck, tremendously
destructive and hard to destroy.
Art: 5/5
Thanks for reading!

Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus is the full
power form of the King Artorigus, the leader of the
noble knight archetype. When he is summoned, just
like his counter part Rank 4 Artorigus, he can equip
3 Noble Arms from the grave. This will provide you
with Excaliburn, Destiny, and either Caliburn or
Gallatin if you set up properly. The best way to
get this rank of the king of the field is Noble
Knight Medraut + Noble Arms (any that re equips.)
Summon Medraut and equip arms to special summon
Noble Knight Borz, get another Noble Arms card to
your hand, while setting up your graveyard with the
rest of them, and then xyz summon Sacred King. You
can also detach to target a monster and destroy that
target. One of the best parts about this Sacred
Knight is his ability to special summon a level 4 or
higher Noble Knight from your graveyard when he's
just about to venture in to it. This will keep your
Noble Arms on the field and not waist your entire
card advantage if something is to happen to him
during your opponents turn. And imagine the
possibilities with putting Medraut back on the field
with several arms. Better yet, if you were already
able to synchro summon High Laundsallyn this game,
you can even special summon him to the field with
this effect, so he can live on again terrorizing
your opponent with boss monster after boss monster.
Keep in mind that it's not so much what this card's
effect does that makes it good standalone, but more
the synergy and combinations this card has access to
through Noble Arms - Excaliburn's eff. When this
Excaliburn is banished from the grave, you can
switch between your rank 4 and 5 king. This allows
you to switch between mass spell/trap removal, and
monster destruction, on the fly, for whatever the
situation you may need.
Sacred Artorigus is a strong addition to the noble
knight archetype and a needed piece to making them a
viable option. His effect could of been a bit
stronger, as I feel noble knights are lacking right
now, but maybe the support will be better in Legacy
of the Valiant? Only time will tell, but this huge
Noble Knight player and fan right here is hoping
so.!
Ratings:
Traditional: 2/5
Advanced: 3.5/5 (As a standalone, he also has
some really great card combos)
Mechanic Design: 4/5 (Great synergy with other
effects, could be more unique then just monster
destruction, but the re equip of arms and special
summon effect are nice)
Art: 4.5/5 (Looks like he's ready to tank foe's for
days with surging power, he'll need to in a format
like this)
