Noble Knight Borz
- #SHSP-EN085 This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with these effects.
● This card becomes DARK and its Level is increased by 1. During your Main Phase: You can reveal 3 "Noble Arms" cards from your Deck, have your opponent randomly add 1 of them to your hand, and send the rest to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Noble Knight Borz" once per turn.

Noble Knight Borz is kind of a bore...but he
works well with yesterday's card. On his own, he's
a Light attributed, Level 4, Warrior Monster with
1700 attack and 900 defense. But if you equip a
Noble Arms Magic card to him, he becomes a Level 5
Dark attributed Monster. So then he can be used to
help make yesterday's card, as does his second
effect benefit from yesterday. You reveal three
Noble Arms Magic cards from your Deck, one of which
is randomly added to your Hand by your opponent, the
other two go to the Graveyard. In short, if you're
playing yesterdays card, you're playing this.

For the next two days, we will be reviewing some
of the cards that we talked about yesterday that
support the Noble Knight theme. First up is Noble
Knight Borz. Borz has two really good effects that
make it a key monster in a Noble Knight deck.
The first effect of Noble Knight Borz is to gain a
level, making it a level 5 monster. Making level 5
monsters and then Xyz summoning powerful rank 5
monsters with them is what Noble Knights do very
well. As discussed in yesterday’s article, the best
way to utilize Borz is to summon Noble Knight
Medraut and use Medraut to special summon Borz and
then use Borz to get another Noble Arms card to
attach to Medraut. Sense both Borz and Medraut
become level 5 monsters when equipped with a Noble
Arms card, you can then special summon a rank 5 Xyz
monster.
Most of the time you are going to special summon
yesterday’s card or Artorigus, King of the Noble
Knights, but you can also get great monsters like
Adreus Keeper of Armageddon, Number 12: Crimson
Shadow Armor Ninja, Shark Fortress, Tiras Keeper of
Genesis, Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh, and ZW – Leo
Arms. You have one more option that is pretty good
as well. You can special summon Number 16:
Volcasaurus, use its effect to destroy a monster and
inflict damage, then overlay Gaia Dragon the Thunder
Charger to attack for more damage.
The second effect of Noble Knight Borz nets you a
Noble Arms card. If there is one particular card you
are in need of, then you can choose three of that
card to guarantee that you will get the card you
need. If you need different Noble Arms cards in your
graveyard for use with your Artorigus Xyz monsters,
then you can choose three different Noble Arms cards
to get two of them in the grave with the third
joining them as soon as you Xyz summon a monster.
You can even use another new card called Swords at
Dawn to get one of the two Noble Arms cards that
went to the graveyard back to you hand. In the end,
you could have three Noble Arms cards attached to
your Borz giving it destruction protection and an
additional 1000 attack.
I will probably never be a big proponent of equip
cards and I definitely do not like cards that are
dependant on other cards, so I do not see Noble
Knights getting to the top tier, but Noble Knights
can be fun and competitive. Noble Knights have not
finished getting support as the next set gives us
even more support. As for now, my ratings will
reflect the competitive nature of the Noble Knight
deck.

Hello everyone. Today's review covers Noble
Knight Borz, the newest effect monster addition to
the Round Table.
I feel like I covered the major combo with Borz in
yesterday's review, so I'm just going to double-tap
on him real quick. You basically want to set
yourself up for one of two plays; either the Sacred
King or rank 4 King. The only real difference here
is what weapons you choose to dump; I find that
getting rid of both Excaliburns in the case of a
rank 5 play is helpful, because it lets you switch
XYZ monsters while keeping one of them on the field
to stop the targeting effects. In the case of only
going for rank 5, set yourself up as you need; try
to add an Arferdut-whatever to your hand so you can
bash some face-downs at the expense of Borz before
you summon your big monster. Give him Caliburn to
grab some LP before you summon. Your end state
should be a Sacred King with Gallatin, Destiny, and
Excaliburn, putting you at 3200 attack/defense,
can't be destroyed, can't be targeted. Awesome
stuff.
The other big thing you can do is work this with
Swords at Dawn. Swords is a quick-play that equips
an equip card to a monster on the field. Said equip
is destroyed at the end of the turn, but Noble Arms
don't care, right? Also, in a perfect world, you
wouldn't equip Borz with the equips from the grave;
Drystan is a prime candidate for that.
In closing, he's a combo card. He won't win you
games by himself, but comboed with Medraut he's
pretty nasty. Use at least 1 or 2 in the deck, but
don't go crazy with him. Don't waste equips with
his effect either; the deck doesn't have that many
weapons to run, and you'll burn out your supply real
quick if you don't pay attention to what you're
doing.
Traditional: 1.5/5, if you can get the big King on
the field great, otherwise.. Good luck
Advanced: 4/5, Great combo effect, limited use on
his own
Art: 3/5, a bit cartoony compared to the other Noble
Knight cards
Thanks for reading!

Noble Knight Borz is truly a strong entry in the
Noble Knight Archetype. Following the same pattern
as Medraut, he is a normal light monster while
unequipped. However, when equipped with a Noble Arms
Spell Card he becomes a Dark Level 5 effect monster.
You then get to reveal 3 Noble Arms from your deck
and your opponent randomly adds 1 of them to your
hand, and you can use this effect once every turn!
The immediate noticeable benefit about Noble Knight
Borz is his ability to instantly net you a +1, and
to get one of the cards of your choosing. This
effect alone already puts him above a great deal of
other level 4 or lower monsters in the game.
The other crucial benefit Noble Knight Borz
specifically offers is setting up your graveyard
with equip spells, and without a doubt secures the
fact that you can go into rank 5 Sacred Artorigus
we just covered yesterday, with originally just one
monster (Medraut) and one Noble Arms. You can then
immediately re equip all the Noble Arms you just
dumped to the graveyard by Borz effect, to Sacred
King with his own effect. This makes him a vital
component of the Noble Knights Archetype.
Noble Knight Borz comes into the game with a purpose
to serve. And he serves it well. The ability to
search Noble Arms, dump the graveyard, and thin your
deck all in one, and once per turn, is truly a noble
effect, and one welcomed by all competitive Noble
Knight players.
Ratings:
Traditional: 3/5
Advanced: 4/5 Mechanic Design: 4.5/5 (Grants some
very necessary skills to Noble Knights, and has a
really unique way in aiding of Noble Knights big
boss monster summon. Thinning the deck of Noble Arms
also helps you focus on drawing cards that count
when you need them)
Art: 4/5 (Not by any stretch of the imagination the
best Noble Knight art, but likable in it's own right
none the less)

Hey guys today we're going to be doing Noble
Knight Borz a card that was supposed to change Noble
Knights into a competitive deck, but really hasn't
the light of day to noble Knights being..... Well,
Noble Knights. Being a 1700 Light Warrior with the
effect of being a normal monster or changing himself
to an Dark Level 5 monster at whim is pretty dope.
No add the fact that he's a pseudo Power Tool
Dragon.
He's the heart of what Noble Knights cold be. He
also sets up nifty plays in the future by putting
Noble Arms equip spell cards to your grave. I
personally think this card was great support, but
it's doomed in a deck that revolves around equip
spell cards.
