Crimson Knight Vampire Bram
- #SHSP-EN054

2 Level 5 Zombie-Type monsters You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster in your opponent's Graveyard; Special Summon that target to your side of the field, but if you do, only that monster can attack for the rest of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Crimson Knight Vampire Bram" once per turn. During the Standby Phase of the next turn after this card you controlled was destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it from the Graveyard in face-up Defense Position.

Crimson Knight Vampire Bram, continuing our Vampire theme from the abbreviated week, is a Rank 5 XYZ Monster, of the Dark attribute, obviously a Zombie and XYZ Summoned specifically with two Level 5 Zombie Monsters. 2500 attack isn't bad but it is low for a Rank 5 and the 0 defense still really irritates me but keeps check with these new Vampires. So you can detach an XYZ Material to Special Summon a Monster from your opponent's Graveyard--good thing. However, only said Monster can attack this turn--bad thing. During the next Standby Phase after this card was destroyed by your opponent (by card effect or battle) you can Special Summon it to your side of the Field--good thing...in face-down defense position--bad thing. I guess it's good that it comes back and can continue to do so, your opponent may be force to negate that effect or remove it from play. But he's not spectacular, rather average actually, at best.

We are going to start off the week with the main reason for building a Zombie deck with all of the cards we talked about last week. Crimson Knight Vampire Bram is the Xyz monster that this build is designed to make. With Bram, you have the ability to take any monster in your opponent’s graveyard. I don’t know about you but I like taking my opponent’s monsters and using them against them. Vampire Bram has some restrictions that we will have to deal with, but it also has some other nice qualities to it.

The first restriction that Crimson Knight Vampire Bram has is that it takes 2 level 5 Zombie monsters to Xyz summon it. There are not too many level 5 Zombie monsters that we can use to summon Bram unless we are using Zombie World. The best and most consistent monsters are Shadow Vampire with Vampire Duke which we have previously discussed. You could also use Vampire Dragon although I would only recommend playing one in a deck. You also have nifty cards like Pyramid Turtle and Creature Swap to assist you in getting those monsters to the field with Recurring Nightmare to get them in your hand. Another card that I love because it is uber aggressive is Instant Fusion with Reaper on the Nightmare.

The next restriction on Crimson Knight Vampire Bram is that the monster you special summon can not attack for the rest of the turn. That is not a problem if you already conducted your battle phase and go to main phase two. Shadow Vampire has the same restriction so if you attack with the monster you bring out with Shadow Vampire, you can then Xyz summon Bram in main phase two and use its effect to nab one of your opponent’s monsters from the grave.

The last restriction I wanted to point out was the revival effect. When your opponent destroys your Crimson Knight Vampire Bram, you get to resurrect it in defense position on the next standby phase. If it comes back on your turn, all you have to do is to use it as an overlay unit for Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger to have a nice attack monster with piercing. There is a lot of upside to the new Zombie theme and we will be talking about some of the support cards for it this week. Crimson Knight Vampire Bram is what makes the deck so make sure you are playing several of them along with Gaia Dragon and Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon in your extra deck.

Some more Vampires this week, first of which is a new Vampire Xyz monster.  Crimson Knight Vampire Bram is a Rank 5 Dark/Zombie which is good, with 2500 ATK, solid for a Rank 5 but nothing special and 0 DEF which is just bad on any monster.

Effectwise he has two and luckily one requires Xyz material and the other doesn’t. The first effect which does require material, allows you to special summon 1 monster from the opponent’s graveyard but that is the only monster that can attack this turn. First off special summoning your opponent’s graveyard is a very powerful effect no matter the card, but the fact that that is the only monster that can attack that turn isn’t great but at least you can do what you like with the monster so it is a decent trade-off.

The second effect doesn’t require any material and it allows you to bring this card back if it was destroyed by your opponent. It doesn’t matter how as long as it was your opponent who had destroyed it. Unfortunately it goes downhill as it has to be summoned in face-up DEF mode. This card has 0 DEF so it is really bad as anything can destroy it. However you do get some cheap defence which does help and it will force the opponent to try and find another way of getting rid of it.

Overall a solid card and a nice addition to Vampires, it has a couple of problems but it should see some play in Zombie Decks.

Hey Guys I hope you had a awesome Thanksgiving! I know I did, but it looks like we are back to work doing Vampire cards. Vampire Bram is a 2500atk 0def zombie XYZ out of the Shadow Specters set. Now, the effect is were it really gets good. You can detach one material to special summon one of your opponents monsters! If you use this effect only the monster summoned can attack but that's fine, if you read his effect in context you can still conduct battle phase with other monsters. As long as you activate his effect in Main Phase 2 . His next great effect is when he's destroyed under your control you can special summon him next turn! Talk about a real Vampire! I think this boss monster really anchors a underplayed deck that is a solid tier two choice.

Yikes, sorry for not reviewing the last 2 cards, a so called holiday can make any person forget.
So I’ll make it up by reviewing Crimson Knight Vampire Bram.

Here we have a rank 5, 2500atk 0def zombie monster summoned by 2 level 5 zombies. 2500 attack is nice, 3000 with the field spell. 0 defense is a bit annoying, especially with this guys defense, but we’ll get to that. I think konami likes to be nostalgic; remember back in season 1 where they first introduced zombies? their defense was 0 due to them being dead or what not. I guess they like to keep the tradition alive today. Personally I don’t mind it.

So as for his effect, you can detach a material to special summon a monster from your opponents graveyard to your side of the field. That monster is the only one that can attack. Keep in mind that effects aren’t negated either, so if they have something beefy there you’ll get a nice +1 out of the deal.
But wait, there’s more! The standby phase after this guy was destroyed in any way by your opponent, you can special summon him, but in defense mode. That’s were his 0 defense can be annoying.

Personally I like running my Vampire deck with 2 cards most might not have considered. ESPER Star Sparrow and Gamashura. Esper makes for a good defense for when they attack directly. and gamashura fixes both Esper and Bram’s lousy defense. Gamashura switches the attack target into attack mode, so chances are if they attack either Bram or ESPER with attack strength lower than their attacks, they pay the price. I think their low defense is good bait for cards like gamashura. Though many still believe it’s a “noob” card. But with the results I’ve seen in Vampire, I beg to differ and think they are just jelly they get beat by what they call a noob card. and that’s what makes this game fun.

More or less, I don’t see why you shouldn’t run 2-3 in your deck, try out gamashura at 2 as well, you might like it as much as I do.

advance 3/5 (because some people don’t believe in combo cards like with gamashura and will automatically hate this card due to it’s effect)
traditional 1/5 (is it even relevant in traditional?)
art 3/5 (kind of looks like a LoL character gone emo, you know which i’m talking about 😉)

Hello and happy Monday everyone. Back after the short Thanksgiving week, we continue to look at Vampire cards, today covering their new XYZ monster.

Dark/Zombie/ATK 2500/DEF 0

2 Level 5 Zombie-Type monsters
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster in your opponent's Graveyard; Special Summon that target to your side of the field, but if you do, only that monster can attack for the rest of this turn.

This is one nasty effect. You detach a material to steal whatever useful monster your opponent might have to use, maybe a tuner, a useful field presence like a Thunder King or Kycoo, whatever it might be. Chances are your opponent isn't going to be amused by this, and will do whatever they can to destroy it. Well, unless they use something like Compulse or D-prison, this is going to come right back the following turn. At that point it's fair game to tribute for something like Vampire Duke, who's immediately going to put you into position to XYZ summon again.

Now keep in mind, it specifies that it has to go to the Graveyard, so if your opponent uses something like D-fissure, Macro, or even D.D. Crow, this isn't coming back. You can't use your Vampire Kingdom to destroy the problem either, so make sure you have some solution for whatever it might be.

There's not much else to say about this; it's a nasty XYZ monster that can be made (and should be made) with the Vampire deck. As it requires 2 level 5 zombies, I don't see many other decks playing this.

Traditional: 1/5, my usual reason
Advanced: 5/5 in his deck, the sky's the limit with the effect and you don't HAVE to pick him as your XYZ, you have Adreus and Shark Fortress to work with too
Art: 5/5, but I feel like I should take a point off for every cross they edited out

Crimson Knight Vampire Bram

This card is obviously an XYZ monster made just for a vampire/zombie deck. If you're not running vampire/zombie monsters...you don't run this card. If you're running vampires/zombies, this is a great XYZ monster.

This monster pays for its field presence upon utilizing its effect, odds are if you're playing zombies the monsters used to summon it were probably floaters/already generated advantage in the first place. The fact this monster can resurrect itself from the graveyard if destroyed and sent to the graveyard either via battle or card effect means this monster will net advantage once it gets a chance to hit the field. I literally went right to eBay 3 seconds after reading this monster's effects & bought two because it's a great theme specific support card. If this monster didn't have such specific requirements for its special summon, this monster would of got a 5/5.

4/5
