| Howdy everyone. Thursday's review is on Vampire
Hunter from the Shadow Specters set. Dark/Warrior/ATK 1600/DEF 1600 At the start of the Damage Step, if this card
battles a DARK monster: Destroy that monster. Okay, so rather than review this, I'm going to
compare it to a very similar card, that being
Duradark. Duradark's effect states that once a turn
he can simply target and destroy a monster of the
same attribute as he is (Dark by default) but he
can't attack the turn he does that. Both cards have to stay on the field for their
effects to resolve. Duradark isn't vulnerable to traps like D-prison,
Mirror Force, or Threatening Roar. Vampire Hunter can be searched by ROTA. Duradark can be searched (with more effort) by
Gear Gigant X. Duradark is vulnerable to Cyber Dragon, but
that's not a huge deal. Vampire Hunter has less attack. Duradark's target has to be in Attack position.
If you're really crafty, Duradark can combat any
attribute, not just Dark. What it comes down to is preference. If you're
already running a warrior deck, Vampire Hunter may
be better because it can be searched for with ROTA.
If you can't easily search it, I'd go with Duradark.
He has better attack, doesn't have to actually enter
combat to use his effect, and can be used for other
attributes if you want to set it up. Of course,
neither of these should be main-decked; there aren't
that many Dark-heavy decks right now, so you don't
need to main either of them. Traditional: 3/5, lots of Darks hereAdvanced: 3/5, situational of course but not that
							awful
Art: 5/5, clearly based on Castlevania, which as we
all know is the best game series ever
