Wow...solid support for a Decktype...you don't see
that all too often. Onslaught of the Fire Kings is
a simple, and very useful Magic card. If your
opponent controls a Monster, and you don't control
any, you can Special Summon a Fire attributed Beast,
Beast-Warrior, or Winged-Beast Monster from your
Deck. Obviously this is a combo card, as you
Special Summon something, Normal Summon something
else, and then XYZ or even Synchro Summon something
much more powerful from the Extra Deck. Said
Monster Special Summoned by this card has it's
effect(s) negated and is destroyed during the End
Phase, but it won't be around at the End Phase
anyway. You can only use one of these a turn, but
that doesn't matter either. If you're Deck can
support this, you play it.

Every strong deck needs a power card. Today’s
card is just that. Onslaught of the Fire Kings (same
name as the structure deck), does everything you
want a powerful card in a Fire King deck to do.
First, it can summon any Fire King from your deck
along with other great fire cards like Sacred
Phoenix of Nephthys, Brotherhood of the Fire Fist
monsters, Flamvell Firedog, Gladiator Beast Laquari,
some of the Hazy Flame monsters, Manticore of
Darkness, and Red Dragon Ninja.
As you can see, Onslaught of the Fire Kings can be
used in a variety of decks, not just Fire Kings.
Playing it does come with a price however. The
effects of the monster brought out by Onslaught are
negated and it is destroyed during the End Phase.
That is really not a big deal if all you are going
to use the monster for is a Xyz or Contact Fusion
monster. The negative effect of Onslaught turns into
a positive effect in a Fire Kings deck as Sacred
Phoenix of Nephthys and the Fire Kings all get their
effects when destroyed by a card effect.
Fire King High Avatar Garunix may be the boss
monster of a fire deck, but Onslaught of the Fire
Kings is the power card that speeds the deck up and
makes it a deck to be reckoned with.

Onslaught of the Fire Kings Normal Spell Card
If your opponent controls a monster and you control
no monsters: Special Summon 1 FIRE Beast,
Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster from
your Deck. Its effects are negated and it is
destroyed during the End Phase. You can only
activate 1 "Onslaught of the Fire Kings" per turn.
Imagine, if you will, a hybrid of two of the most
influential cards in the game: Cyber Dragon and Tour
Guide from the Underworld. Cyber Dragon being able
to summon itself when your opponent controls a
monster and Tour Guide being able to pull a specific
monster out from your deck. Being able to summon a
specific monster while you control none from your
deck sounds very over-powered!
And it indeed is! Onslaught only allows you to
access any Fire Beast,Beast-Warrior,or WInged-Beast
monster from your deck while your opponent controls
a monster. However, you do lose this monster at the
end of the turn.
So, what are our most likely targets? Luckily, this
structure deck and a large amount of Cosmic Blazer
feature monsters that fit into this category, such
as:
Fire-Fist Hazy Flame High Avatar
While there are a couple here that you wouldn't
really want to summon, keep in mind that it does
allow you to set up easy xyz plays for whatever
situation you need.
The real selling point of this card is to be able to
summon yesterday's card for no tribute at all! An
instant 2700 attacker is pretty powerful right?
Luckily it dies in the end phase.... but remember
Garunix will revive himself and nuke the field after
he is destroyed.
So, in a sense, this is almost like a free Dark Hole
and a 2700 attacker at the cost of your battle
phase. You could also do the same with Sacred
Phoenix, but a heavy storm instead. This combo is
incredibly powerful and can set the duel to be in
your favor from one card. Heck, this card is the
reason why Garunix is playable; as you can instantly
summon it to wreck havok!
Advanced: 4.5
As we received more Fire Beast,Beast-Warrior,and
Winged-Beast monsters; this card just gets better
and better. In addition, it can easily summon two of
the most powerful boss monsters that we
have available for almost no cost.
Traditional: 3.0
Instant summons are always great in a format like
this! Plus, Garunix could shine in a format with
this much spam.

I have always been a fan of the Phoenix lore. The
blazing form of Garunix simply looks amazing. It
reminds me a little bit of the Winged Dragon of Ra
as well.

Today we are looking at: Onslaught of the Fire
Kings
“If your opponent controls a monster and you
control no monsters: Special Summon 1 FIRE Beast,
Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster from
your Deck. Its effects are negated and it is
destroyed during the End Phase. You can only
activate 1 "Onslaught of the Fire Kings" per turn.”
So we have a spell card that lets you special
summon any fire type beast, beast-warrior, or
winged-beast type monster from your deck if your
opponent controls a monster and you do not. You
don’t get any on field effects (Yeah, go away bear)
and it dies during the end phase. It seems pretty
hamster tickling amazing to me. Seriously, the
ability to set up a rank 4 play or fetch a Fire king
to attack and then blow it up during the end phase
to trigger its effect? Yes sir! In Fire king decks
this is the card you don’t want to see because it
starts the Garunix/Sacred Phoenix shenanigans.
Outside of that Fire Fist use it to make a quick
rank 4 (Tiger king) without breaking a sweat, and in
completely random decks you can just splash it with
fire monsters to effectively act as a Tour Guide
style play and/or spam Garunix. And yes, I do main
deck Garunix and Onslaught in my Mermail deck. It
works, I don’t know why, but it does. Onslaught and
Tenki have provided a serious amount of tool-boxing
power to a lot of decks, and I hope that it helps
create all sorts of crazy new stratagem in the near
future to combat the impending doom of Spellbook
decks.

Hey there everyone. My apologies for my absence
of about 5 days of no COTD reviews but recovering
from a sore throat and cold while handling my
employment search is no fun.
With that said, I aim to come back with a
vengeance and we will start with, in my opinion, the
most influential card in the new Structure Deck,
named after this card: Onslaught of the Fire Kings!
This is a Normal Spell card with a very powerful
effect, capable of being ran at 3 and being the
focus point of any deck that runs it. Here's the
effect.
"If your opponent controls a monster and you
control no monsters: Special Summon 1 FIRE Beast,
Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster from
your Deck. Its effects are negated and it is
destroyed during the End Phase. You can only
activate 1 "Onslaught of the Fire Kings" per turn."
First of all, this card works like Cyber Dragon
does. Your opponent needs a monster on their field
while your field remains empty. Not difficult to do
in this format.
By doing so and activating this card, you can
Special Summon a FIRE Beast, Beast-Warrior, or
Winged Beast straight from your Deck. As with
yesterday's COTD Review, this can bring out the High
Avatar of the Fire Kings himself, Garudix, straight
from your deck, clocking at a massive 2700 ATK. You
can also still Normal Summon as well during the turn
you activate this so you can drop another monster to
apply even more pressure.
Given that the Attribute being summoned is set to
FIRE but there is 3 different types you can summon
with this card with no level or ATK restriction can
open the floodgates to almost anything possible.
Beast-Warrior means you have access to all of the
Fire Kings monsters, Garudix, and the remaining Fire
King Avatars, including Yaksha. Beasts gives you
access to the Enthusiastic Beast King Bearman and
Wolfberk, the former helping you to make Rank 8 Xyz
while the latter is basically a Junk Synchron for
Rank 4 Xyz. It also gives you access to Flamvell
Firedog as well if you ever want to set up
Rekindling plays later. Winged-Beasts gives you
access to the old-school Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys
which also clocks at 2400 ATK.
Unfortunately, its effects is negated so why
bother bringing out the Sacred Phoenix when Garudix
is almost always better due to higher ATK? Well,
case-in-point, the monster summoned by this card
does get destroyed during the End Phase. This does
trigger Garudix's and Sacred Phoenix's effects,
allowing them to return to the field while clearing
out Monsters and Spell/Traps, respectively. This
also works well with Bearman, letting it get
destroyed so you can Call of the Haunted back with
its effect and ATK fully intact. The Fire King
Avatars don't mind being destroyed since it will
trigger their effects.
As you can see, there is a lot to gain off of it.
It is a powerful, speedy Spell that gives you the
ability to apply pressure, set up future plays, and
even gives you the power to turbo Xyz as well while
making other cards live and ready for use.
This card alone is worth buying 3 Structure
Decks. I'm sure it will be a key card to keep watch
on in the near future.
Traditional Format: 2/5 (It's not bad in that
format but the restrictions hurt.)
Advanced Format: 4/5 (This card is very destructive.
Watch out for this deck.)

Onslaught of the Fire Kings
Normal Spell
If your opponent controls a monster and you control
no monsters: Special Summon 1 FIRE Beast,
Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster from
your Deck. Its effects are negated and it is
destroyed during the End Phase. You can only
activate 1 "Onslaught of the Fire Kings" per turn.
Next on look through the newest Structure Deck
Onslaught of the Fire Kings is the title card;
Onslaught of the Fire Kings. Onslaught of the
Fire Kings is a powerful card if played right. It
allows you to summon any FIRE Beast, Beast-Warrior,
or Winged Beast-Type monster from your Deck with no
level restriction and while it’s effects are negated
and then it’s destroyed at the End Phase, there is a
lot you can still do with it. Use the monster to
attack or for summoning another monster, or clearly
its main purpose; to quickly summon Fire King High
Avatar Garunix or Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys so you
can get to use their effects after they are
destroyed at the end of the turn.
A simple but very effective card, not for every deck
but a lot of FIRE decks will play this.

Onslaught of the Fire Kings is a normal spell
card from the newest structure deck, but you already
knew that. It allows you, if your opponent controls
a monster and you don't, to special summon 1 FIRE
Beast, Beast-Warrior or Winged-Beast monster from
your deck. Its effects are negated and is destroyed
during the end phase. You can only activate 1
Onslaught of the Fire Kings once per turn. Fire
Kings get something to move them along even faster,
while Fire Fist gets a new toy to play with. Im sure
someone will make a King of the Fire Fist hybrid
deck because that is how good this card is. It even
lets you attack with whatever you summon and there
is no level restriction to this card either. This
card alone makes me wanna build that hybrid deck. If
you are using either Fire Fist or King (or both)
This card is a must.
