Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh! Card of the Day

Top 10 Cosmo Blazer Cards:

#4  Spellbook of the Master
- #CBLZ-EN062

If you control a Spellcaster-Type monster: You can reveal 1 other "Spellbook" card in your hand to target 1 "Spellbook" Normal Spell Card in your Graveyard, except "Spellbook of the Master"; this card's effect becomes that target's effect. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook of the Master" per turn.

Spellbook of the Master is another excellent Spellbook Magic card in the ever growing arsenal of said cards.  You have to control a Spellcaster Monster to activate this card, and reveal another Spellbook Magic card in your Hand.  This lets you select and target a Normal Spellbook Magic Card in your Graveyard, and this cards effect becomes the effect of the card you choose.  You can't choose Spellbook of the Master, although I'm not sure why you would choose this card anyway.  That wouldn't do you any good, and like yesterday, you can only activate one of these a turn.  Being able to reuse a Spellbook Magic card from your Graveyard is a wonderful ability, and the requirement to play this card, even being dependent on two other things, would be no problem at all in its Deck.  Use and enjoy

Spellbooks get a big boost from Spellbook of the Master. It allows you to get around the once-per-turn requirements that most Spellbooks have and it allows you to get more Spellbooks in the graveyard which is a big bonus in a Spellbook deck. Too bad this card is a secret. We will be getting some more support for Spellbooks in the future so Spellbook of the Master is only going to help make the deck that much better.

We have some new Prophecy monsters in Cosmo Blazer that depend on having Spellbooks of different names in your graveyard to get their effects. Not only does Spellbook of the Master give you another Spellbook of a different name, but it also gives you more options depending on what Spellbook effect you need at the time.

Let’s try some fun stuff with this card. Activate Spellbook of Secrets to get Master. Then activate Spellbook of the Master to make it a Secrets to search for Spellbook of Power and play it. Attack with your monster to search for Spellbook Tower and activate it. Without playing another Spellbook, you now have three spellbooks of a different name in the graveyard and you are drawing an extra card every turn. Spellbook of the Master just makes the deck more consistent because you do not have to play three of every normal Spellbook and you can choose which effect you need, depending on what is in your graveyard.

Spellbooks are only going to get better and Spellbook of the Master is going to be a must in the deck. Unfortunately the deck is still ruined by Macro Cosmos and Magic negation.

I like today's card. At number 4 is Spellbook of the Master and rightfully so. The Prophecy monsters rely on these powerful spell cards and this one is just as strong as the rest, if not more so. If you control a Spellcaster-type monster, you can reveal one other Spellbook spell card and target one Normal Spellbook spell card, this card's effect becomes the one you targeted. It pretty much gives you access to whatever Spellbook spell you already used without much cost. You can combo this card with High Priestess and Spellbook of Eternity to get back 2 of your banished Spellbook cards in one turn. You can even reveal another copy of this card to target one on your graveyard. Spellbook Of Power can amp up one of your Spellcasters by 1000 ATK, with Spellbook of the Master, you can increase it by another 1000. This card gives you pretty much an extra copy of any of the Normal Spellbook cards you use. In a deck that uses Spellbook, this card is a must.

Welcome to the last spell card of our countdown for Cosmic Blazer! Today we will be covering the card that allows Prophecy to gain incredibly consistency for their deck, let’s take a look at Spellbook of the Masters!

Spellbook of the Master
Normal Spell Card

If you control a Spellcaster-Type monster: You can reveal 1 other "Spellbook" card in your hand to target 1 "Spellbook" Normal Spell Card in your Graveyard, except "Spellbook of the Master"; this card's effect becomes that target's effect. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook of the Master" per turn.

What limits the spellbook cards? Their main issue is that you can only use of the searchers per turn. I am sure they did this so that it wouldn’t become the new Toon Table of Contents, which is very ideal. In Prophecy, your main searching play would be something like Secret -> Power -> Pump something to kill another monster -> Search what you need or another secrets to fuel their field spell. However, things change a little bit with Master

Master allows you to essentially copy one of your normal spelbook cards that is in your graveyard. This means that you can do Secrets-> Master -> Whatever you wanted to search. This gives some more deck thinning, which can be quite crucial for the deck. Even better, you can do Power-> Master-> Boost a monster by 2000 and when it kills something you can search two cards; and all your Priestess to beat over just about any monster in the game.

Let’s also not forget that it gets more spells in the grave for their Field Spell and Reaper(one of last week’s cards), creating more synergy with the deck as a whole. Finally, I have to mention the use it has with their new upcoming card: Judgment; which will be quite interesting….

In general, the card is amazing and will help push the deck a little bit more thanks to the consistency it provides.

I really like the exploding spellbook idea in this card

I’ll explain why…. I kinda forgot about this card XD. I was focused on some other cards that I thought were worthy that I forgot about about Master. Woops!

Spellbook of the Master
Normal Spell
If you control a Spellcaster-Type monster: You can reveal 1 other "Spellbook" card in your hand to target 1 "Spellbook" Normal Spell Card in your Graveyard, except "Spellbook of the Master"; this card's effect becomes that target's effect. You can only activate 1 "Spellbook of the Master" per turn.

Number 4 on our countdown of the Top 10 cards from Cosmo Blazer is Spellbook of the Master a simple but really powerful Spell Card. Have a Spellcaster and another Spellbook and you can choose this card’s effect from any “Spellbook” normal spell card in your graveyard. This can be a powerful card mid to late game and with no real cost.

Overall a simple but powerful card that should see a lot of play in Spellcaster decks.
