All right folks, after a two week intro to Cosmo Blazer, with an in-depth look at the Fire Fist Archtype, we continue to delve into the new set with our Top 10 cards of the set countdown!  Opening the week is a new card to support the Noble Knight Archtype.  Noble Knight Medraut is a Light attributed, Level 4, Warrior Monster, with 1700 attack and 1000 defense.  Medraut strikes me as being similar to a Gemini Monster.  You don't have to Summon him a second time to get his effect...

However, you do need to equip a Noble Arms Magic Card to gain his effect.  When equipped with said Magic Card of sorts, Medraut becomes a Level 5 Monster, and his attribute changes from Light to Dark.  Furthermore, you're allowed to Special Summon another Noble Knight Monster from your Deck, in face-up Defense position, once per turn, if you control no other Monsters.  You have to destroy an Equip Magic Card if you do, but note that it doesn't specifically require it to be a Noble Arms card.

I like him, he has a respectable attack, has a balanced trade for a new Monster, and can change his own Level and Attribute, with a little help.  Obviously this is to make things like XYZ or Synchro Summoning easier, and his 1700 attack isn't bad to boot either.  I'd be using at least one if I were playing this Deck, maybe a second one, because even if you were to Special Summon a second Medraut by his own effect, and destroy the Equip Card on the first one, that's a Rank 4 XYZ right there, or a Rank 5 if you have a different card to spare, and can equip another to the second one.

It's time for yet another of Pojo's infamous top 10 lists. This time its the top ten cards of Cosmo Blazar. First up at Number 10, Noble Knight Medraut. A level 4 LIGHT/Warrior monster with 1700/1000 for ATK/DEF. They keep churning out these Noble Knights and they keep getting a little better each time. Medraut hits the field as a normal monster when it's summoned, but gains an effect when it is equipped with a "Noble Arms" equip card. It becomes a DARK monster and gains a level, making it level 5. Once per turn, if you control no other monsters, you can special summon 1 Noble Knight monster from your deck in defense position, then destroy 1 equip card you control if you do that. You can use Noble Arms Caliburn or Afuedutyr, get either of those effects, then special summon a Noble Knight monster. If you're lucky, you'll have Gawyan in your hand as well, giving you three Knoble Knight monsters. It's a LIGHT monster, a step away from Chaos monsters, and able to team with Honest. This card helps the Noble Knights swarm the field and Xyz really fast. Medraut's stats are ok at best, but once it's equipped with a Noble Arms card, the real fun begins.

Today starts our top 10 list of the best cards from Cosmic Blazar! Today we shall cover number 10 on our list, which is another one of Arthur’s Knights of the Round table; Modred! The son of the King!

Noble Knight Medraut
Light, Level 4, Warrior
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.
● This card becomes DARK and its Level is increased by 1. Once per turn, if you control no other monsters: You can Special Summon 1 "Noble Knight" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position, except "Noble Knight Medraut", and if you do, destroy 1 Equip Spell Card you control.
1700/1000

I have to say…. Wow. This card does so much at once, and can be a huge combo maker for the Noble Knights. It allows the deck to do so much with each card that is available to it.

First of all; we see that he is treated as a normal monster as long as he doesn’t have an equip card attached. This means that you can summon Gawayn while he is on the field and go for an instant rank 4 xyz if you really want to.

However, once equipped things get interesting. Basically, you can summon another noble knight from your deck while it’s equipped; then you destroy the equip spell. What’s really cool about this combo is that if you destroy a Noble Arms; you can then re-attach it to a Noble Knight you control.

Basically; this allows you to do one of two things:

1)      Summon Medraut; equip it and send the equip to summon Artorigus, Gawayn, or Joan from your deck; re-equip the spell to one of them and use its effect (if Arfeudutyr or Cailburn), then xyz a rank 4

2)      Summon Medraut; equip it and send the equip spell to summon Laundsallyn from your deck; re-equip the spell to Medraut and use its effect (if Arfeudutyr or Cailburn); then xyz a rank 5.

Basically, you have a rank 4 or 5 summoning monster that can also recycle the effect of Arfudutyr to destroy set cards or Cailburn to regain some life points. This brings so much to the table for Noble Knights that could even push them to be competitive. This is one of those few cards that pushes an archetype to the competitive stage.

Advanced: 4

It brings an entire archetype together and makes it quite strong. It deserves a high rating.

Traditional: 2.5

A Chaos-fueled archetype; Warrior; and has the ability to spam some more monsters? I could see something working; as long as you don’t get OTK’ed first.

Art 4: It’s part of the line of amazing TCG exclusive art and it shows some of the history of King Arthur through both the art and the effect. It is Definitely one of the better arts in the game.

Today we are looking at card #10 on our top 10 countdown of Cosmo Blazer: “Noble Knight Medraut.”

“This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.

  ● This card becomes DARK and its Level is increased by 1. Once per turn, if you control no other monsters: You can Special Summon 1 "Noble Knight" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position, except "Noble Knight Medraut", and if you do, destroy 1 Equip Spell Card you control.”

He has a great ability. When he is equipped with a “Noble Arms” equip spell, you can special summon 1 “Noble Knight” monster from your deck in face up defense mode and destroy one equip card you control. This little destruction effect can prove very beneficial in the “Noble Knight” deck because most, if not all, of the “Noble Arms” equip cards let you re-equip them to another “Noble Knight” Monster when they are destroyed. So this guy will grab almost any monster you need right from the deck, and then equip that same equip spell you just destroyed to him. That’s pretty cool right? You just can’t have another monster on the field when you use his effect, no big deal.

Now the effect is great, however, his stats are rather bland. Thankfully when he is not equipped with a “Noble Arms” spell card, not only does he get to be treated as a normal monster (No fiendish chain!), he also remains a light type so he benefits from honest.

So, in summary, I am excited to see where this archetype is going. They have solid effects, balanced stats, and function pretty well with a lot of already released support. I haven’t seen a tier 1 build yet, but this guy really adds to the consistency needed to make a competitive deck.

Advanced: 4/5 in a “Noble Knight” deck.
Traditional: 1/5 this is an archetype that functions best in advanced format.
Art: 5/5 (something about his art captivates me)

Noble Knight Medraut

Light/Warrior/Effect/LV4/1700/1000

This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with these effects.

Welcome to the POJO top 10 from Cosmo Blazer. At number 10 is Noble Knight Medraut the next in the slowly growing archetype. Noble Knight Medraut is a strange card which acts similar to a Gemini Monster except you don’t Second Summon it to get its effect you give it a equip card. The effect is simple, but can be powerful, the ability to special summon any Noble Knight is a great effect, even if it goes in DEF mode is a good thing. Sadly it will cost you a Equip Spell but Noble Arms generally don’t mind being destroyed.  As a bonus if you do destroy the card equipped to Noble Knight Medraut it will become a level 4 again allowing you to Xyz Summon a Rank 4.

Overall Noble Knight Medraut is a good card for the growing Noble Knight archetype and should easily see play in Noble Knight decks
