All right, we looked at the Chaos XYZ variant of
Monday's card on Tuesday, now we do that again
today, just obviously with the card from yesterday.
The Chaos variant we looked at earlier this week
had a much better effect than this card, a better
effect if it has its other XYZ counterpart attached,
which difficult as it may be to do, actually can be
pulled off. Here I just don't see this card being
worth it at all. This Monster is Rank 5, also with
3000 attack like we saw earlier this week, and 2400
defense. This is an Earth, Warrior type Monster,
XYZ Summoned with three Level 5 Monsters. Once per
turn, this card cannot be destroyed by Battle.
Certainly good, but how many Monsters are going to
be able to destroy this guy by Battle anyway?
Probably not very many. If he has yesterdays card
as an XYZ Material, when it destroys an opponent's
Monster by Battle, you can remove it from play, and
if you do, you inflict Damage to your opponent equal
to the attack of that Monster. Just as I wouldn't
play yesterday's card, I wouldn't play this either.
Ratings:
Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: Headache/5 like wh0a errrr 2.5
Art: 5/5 Nice picture though, he's got freaking
castles on his shoulders, and could clearly be a
Machine as opposed to a Warrior with all that armor

CXyz Comics Hero Legend Arthur
EARTH/Warrior/Xyz/Effect/Rank5/3000/2400
3 Level 5 monsters
Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by
battle. If this card has "Comics Hero King Arthur"
as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● When this card destroys a monster by battle and
sends it to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz
Material from this card; banish the destroyed
monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your
opponent equal to its original ATK.
After reviewing Comics Hero King Arthur yesterday we
now look at its Ranked Up version CXyz Comics Hero
Legend Arthur. I really liked Comics Hero King
Arthur yesterday and its Ranked Up version is also
good. Normally it needs 3 level 5 monsters but it
has 3000 ATK and once per turn it can’t be destroyed
by battle, though with 3000 ATK and a solid 2400 DEF
it’s not going to be easy to be able to destroy in
the first place.
Of course being a Ranked Up CXyz it gets a bonus
effect if you have the original version attached.
First thing it is one of these you have to destroy a
monster by battle to use it effects, but unlike
other cards with this effect, Legend Arthur has the
ATK to pull it off. If you do destroy a monster by
battle and it goes to the grave, for 1 material you
can banish that monster and inflict damage to your
opponent equal to that monster’s original ATK. Again
as with King Arthur, really good value and the
chance to deal a lot of damage to your opponent.
Overall, another good warrior Xyz with another good
value effect, if you are playing Comics Hero King
Arthur you will want to play this guy as well.

DKMagician Girl brought up a pretty good point in
the Simon review. I neglected to take into account
how even if I don’t summon him by Ranking-Up Norito,
he is nevertheless still immune to all monster
effects and is a sturdy 3000 ATK Rank 7. So if I
assemble three Level 5 monsters and Xyz Summon
Legend Arthur, what do I get? I agree that Legend
Arthur wields a hefty 3000 ATK (it’s almost unfair
how much of a power-up he gets from King Arthur
compared to how much Norito gets going to Simon),
but his Continuous Effect doesn’t matter much. It
means that Legend Arthur can trade a punch and live
against Black Luster Soldier or Grapha the Dragon
Lord of Dark World (or any other monster that
happens to be at 3000), but it’s not greatly
spectacular, since it doesn’t place THAT much of a
burden against most Decks.
So that’s what you get if you summon Legend Arthur
the old-fashioned way. If you Rank-Up King Arthur,
for three times (assuming you haven’t activated King
Arthur’s effect) Legend Arthur will banish the
monsters he destroys and throw in a little extra
damage (not even any monster he battles…just the
ones he can actually beats in battle…sigh). So if
your opponent has an army of strong monsters
(provided they’re under 3000 ATK, and if you had
King Arthur stalling, they’d probably have assembled
an army anyway), Legend Arthur can go in chopping em
down for full 3000 damage (and if they go into
Defence Position the next turns, Legend Arthur can
still do sizable damage), all the while preventing
them from going to the Grave. I have some problems
with that scenario though. If they got to the point
where they assembled a good “feast” for Legend
Arthur, it should not be hard for them to use
effects to block or counterattack Legend Arthur,
unless you hurt them REALLY bad with the Barian’s
Force. Take Dragon Lords for example: Even if they
got out a field of Big Eye, Mecha Phantom Beast
Dracossack, and Master of Blades, and you are lucky
enough to summon out of nowhere King Arthur, use
Barian’s Force to negate all their effects and
summon Legend Arthur to start bashing them 3000 per
turn, they could probably summon a second Big Eye
(maybe even right the next turn) and steal Legend
Arthur. Also, if your opponent does not have “an
army of monsters” and is just setting Defence
Position monsters against Legend Arthur, if you use
Legend Arthur’s effect for this, you’re not doing a
spectacular amount of damage. Then you have to start
comparing the ATK of the lower-ATK monsters you have
out and guessing whether your monsters are good
enough to use for Direct Attacking so you can use
Legend Arthur’s effect on the monster or if the
combined ATK of the enemy monster and your
lowest-ATK that can beat the enemy monster will
exceed 3000, then you might as well just use your
weakest monster to wipe out theirs so that you can
use Legend Arthur to Direct Attack… It’s just a
mess.
The banishing thing is ok, but if you really want it
that much, just use Macro Cosmos. His effect damage
mimics Darkblaze Dragon/Flame Wingman; it works well
with his high ATK, but is not practical (as
described in my last paragraph), especially with how
clumsy it is to summon him. It also really does not
help that King and Legend Arthur can’t feed off each
other’s weaknesses the way Norito and Simon can.
If I could change the effect of this card (and even
then it would be only moderate):
This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Your
opponent cannot target Warrior-Type monsters for
attacks.
Trad: 1/5
Adv: 1.5/5 (.25 points for trying, and .25 more
because I admit he could get dangerous if you get
really unlucky but he’s still clumsy to summon, and
I’d rather summon Utopia and his own Rank-Ups)
Aesthetics: 3.25/5 The CXyzs are a family of
monsters that are upgraded versions of original Xyzs.
Also joining them are Number C, which are the same
as CXyz except for Numbers. All of them require the
Spell Card Rank-Up Magic Barian’s Force to be
summoned (except for Number C39: Utopia Ray and
Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss – the first two Number
C cards that we’ve already reviewed – which you can
summon by just putting them over the original card),
and as a result, they all have streaks of red on
them (except for Utopia Ray and Veiss). All of them
are one Rank higher than the original, and (except
for Utopia Ray and Veiss) must use their original
form in order to gain their effects; the CXyzs'
effects (except for Simon the Great Moral Leader's)
involve effect damage. Also, if you were going to
Xyz Summon them “the old-fashioned way,” you need
one more Xyz Material than the original. Their new
effect is different yet slightly resembles their old
effect, and except for Ray, Veiss, and for some
reason Giant Red Hand, they have an additional
effect that does not require Xyz Material. In Legend
Arthur’s case, his effect to inflict damage is
similar to how King Arthur does 500 every time he
cheats death, and Legend Arthur has a Continuous
Effect to protect him in battle. It’s very
interesting how Legend Arthur has aspects of his
castle on his shoulder. It’s also intriguing how
other than that, he looks a lot like King Arthur,
but I don’t like how the sword changed too.
Philosophy Corner: I forgot to mention something
about the aesthetics of Utopia Ray. After using the
effect three times, Utopia Ray has 4000 ATK and an
opposing monster will usually have 0 ATK, letting
Yuma deal 4000 Battle Damage. This utter loss into
instant win is very ridiculous and takes a lot of
excitement out of
Zexal.
