Shifting back to XYZ, we look at Number 19: Freezadon.
As similar to earlier this week, this is a Rank 5
XYZ Monster, XYZ Summoned with two Level 5 Monsters.
Freezadon is a Water attributed Dinosaur, with 2000
attack and 2500 defense. With 2000 attack, which is
low for a Rank 5, the 2500 defense can be a good
thing, but Freezadon doesn't really need to do much
attacking. I really feel this guy is going to get
overlooked and forgotten about, but I really hope
note, but as most things, it will come down to
whether or not you have space in the Extra Deck.
Once a turn, when an XYZ Material would activate
its effect by discarding an XYZ Material, you can
detach an XYZ Material from this Monster instead.
Maybe it's just me, but that seems rather
invaluable. I mean, sure, the low attack, no
credible effect of its own, why bother playing it
right? Obviously it's a combo card and it will work
for some and be useless for others. Enjoy

I am going to be very honest with you and let you
know up front, that I do not like our card of the
day today. I can usually find something good to say
about any card I review, but quite frankly, there
are much better rank 5 monsters in the game than
Number 19: Freezadon. Currently, we have 6 Xyz
monsters that require 2 non specific monsters to
summon them: Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon, Number
12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja, Number 33:
Chronically Machu Mech, Tiras, Keeper of Genesis,
Wind-Up Arsenal Zenmaioh, and ZW – Leo Arms. All of
these monsters have better stats and effects.
Summoning Number 19: Freezadon is not much of an
issue in the right deck. Decks like Wind-Ups,
Hieratics, Inzektors, and Darkworld can summon a
rank 5 monster quite easily, but one at a time. You
would need a deck that can summon rank 5 monsters a
couple at a time or one per turn in order to make
Freezadon a factor in the game. Even then, there are
just better alternatives to Freezadon.

Welcome to our third day of the new Zexal tin
reviews! Today we will be looking at a very
interesting xyz monster that was one of the first
cards to focus on supporting the xyz mechanic
itself. So let's take a look at Number 19: Freezadon!

2000/2500
We have received quite the range of xyz monsters
from the zexal series, but this is one of the more
interesting ones. I say this because it allows you
to take advantage of the cost mechanic that xyz
monsters use from their xyz materials. Freezeadon
allows you to help fuel your monsters a bit easier.
Whenever you would detach a material from one of
your xyz materials, you can detach one from
Freezadon instead. Imagine 4 negate attacks from
Utopia, 4 destructions off of Volcasaurus, or 5
turn-lock downs off of Shock Master! You don't have
to rely on inconsistent cards like Overlay Regen
thanks to this card, as it is in your extra deck
until you need it.
Sadly.... that's all it is used for; a support card.
On it's own, it doesn't do much; which is why it's
highly looked down upon. Investing two level 5's
into this monster simply isn't worth it when you
could just go for a second Volcasaurus or Tiras;
just in case the first dies. It also accomplishes
the same effect of increasing the use out of one
card.
Advanced: 2.5
It's decent, however it just simply isn't worth the
investment
Traditional: 1.5
Most likely going to die before it is used.

The brother of Volcasaurus! It's pretty cool artwork
for a water dinosaur.

So first thoughts, effect aside, that 2000/2500
isn’t going to get very far with random Fire Fist
strategies easily reaching over 2000 attack on a
level 4 monster. That almost makes it unplayable.
Then we have the effect, its ok I guess. I don’t see
much top tier playability yet, and with a plethora
of better rank 5’s I wouldn’t really run it outside
of a deck built to use it. It is kind of interesting
as the centerpiece of a XYZ deck though. Just run
Tiras if you need a rank 5 monster.

Welcome to another card review! Today we have
another dino monster. It is one of the Ultra rare
monsters that you can get out of the Zexal Tin. It’s
another rank 5 number monster but is it good?

ATK/2000 DEF/2500
Well, this monster isn’t as good as Volcasaurus
but it definitely has some potential. It has solid
stats and an interesting effect. Whenever your xyz
monsters would activate their effects to drop xyz
material(s), you can drop an Xyz material off of
this monster instead. Now this monster has a number
of uses. You can use it along with Evolzar Laggia to
be able to negate two cards with its effect. It can
also work with other Xyz monsters to abuse their
effects. That doesn’t sound too bad, but is this
card really worth playing? I’m not so sure. This
monster is a rank 5 monster that is only useful when
other xyz monsters are on your side of the field.
This makes it a little situational. It isn’t a bad
choice in some decks but isn’t that great right now.
One deck that could really abuse this card in the
future is Constellars. That deck can pump out rank 5
monsters, so this monster can help make some of the
Constellar Xyz monster’s effects even better. I
haven’t played with Constellar decks yet but
Freezadon could definitely be good in there.
Advanced: 3/5
-I see a lot of potential with this monster. It
isn’t a very good monster right now but it might be
useful in the future. I would definitely get at
least one copy of this card while it’s still easy to
get.
Traditional:1.5/5
-This monster is just to slow in this format. I see
no uses for Freezadon in this format.
Art: 3.5/5
-This monster’s art is pretty good. It still isn’t
as cool as Volcasaurus because it’s not pink or
purple. That would’ve made this art too amazing but
it’s still a cool-looking dino.

Next card from the 2013 Zexal Collection Tin is
another Dinosaur Xyz monster and is kinda Number 61:
Volcasaurus’s partner; Number 19: Freezadon. Number
19: Freezadon has an interesting effect; simply he
can use 1 of his Xyz material to pay for another
Xyz’s effect. Of course the other monster must have
been able to pay for the cost itself. To be honest I
would rather play Number 61: Volcasaurus it has a
better attack and effect.
Number 19: Freezadon’s
biggest problem is that his effect requires you to
have another Xyz monster whose effect you need to
activate.
Overall an interesting effect and good stats but not
much on his own, which is a problem.
