Closing the week is another Gagaga support card in the Magic card Gagagaback.  We have a Quickplay Magic card that lets you Special Summon as many Gagaga Monsters as possible that were destroyed by Battle during the current turn, and sent to the Graveyard.  This may, at first glance, seem like a good thing.  However, if your opponent was able to destroy all these Monsters, bringing them all back isn't likely to do you much good.  Furthermore, you take 600 Damage for each card revived via this cards effect.  Sorry to be short, but this card isn't very good folks...

One of the theme cards in the new Zexal tin is Gagagaback. There are several cards in the tin to support the Gagaga theme, but Gagagaback may be the most interesting. The aspect that makes this card playable is the fact that it is a quick play spell card. This allows us to use it on our turn or our opponent’s turn, making it more versatile as an offensive or defensive card.

Currently we have 5 Gagaga monsters (Caesar, Clerk, Gardna, Girl, and Magician), and 1 Gagaga monster yet to come in Kid. That I know of anyways. The two main Gagaga monsters that we want to summon are the spellcasters; Girl and Magician. By getting them both on the field, we can summon a Xyz monster from rank 1 to 8. Gagagaback is one of many cards that will help us accomplish that feet.

The best way to search for your magicians is to use Mystic Tomato. By ramming your Tomato into your opponent’s monster, you can search out all of your Tomatoes then a Gagaga Magician. Once you have rammed all of your monsters into your opponent’s monster, you can activate Gagagback to summon all four monsters back to the field and keep attacking with the 3 Tomatoes to get 3 Gagaga Girls on the field. On main phase 2, change Magician to the level you want and make the Girls the same. What you will end up with is two very powerful Xyz monsters. Yes you will take a lot of damage, providing you did not play One-Day-Of-Piece first, but your two little cards will become two big and powerful cards and your opponent’s special summoned monsters will be left with 0 attack.

Gagagarevenge, Call of the Haunted and Monster Reborn can all pretty much summon your monsters for you as well as Gagagaback can, but Gagagaback is far more versatile and can do so much more. Maybe one day we will see someone pioneer Gagaga’s to the top of a Regional or YCS. For now, they are regulated to tier 2 or 3. I’m not sure throwing a multitude of support cards at it will help it rise to the top, but who knows what the Yu-Gi-Oh Gods will bring in the future.

Welcome to our last day of this week! Thank goodness it's Friday! Today we will be covering another Yuma card. This card specifically supports what seems to be his main deck type: Gagaga; or retrained Yugi card.deck. So let's take a look at Gagagaback!

Gagagaback
Quick-play spell card

During the turn a "Gagaga" monster you control was destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: Special Summon as many monsters from your Graveyard as possible that were destroyed by battle this turn, in face-up Defense Position, then take 600 damage for each monster Special Summoned by this effect. You can only activate 1 "Gagagaback" per turn.

Have you ever tried playing a Gagaga deck? My guess is that it is a no, and I don't blame you. It must be annoying to keep saying Gagaga over and over during the match. However, I do suggest you look into it as they have quite the means to summon just about any xyz monster. Gagaga Magician can make himself any level between 1 and 8, which Girl can then match. You also have Kaiser to make all your monsters the same level, and so much other fun stuff!

However, one issue with the deck is retaining field advantage. It's hard to xyz summon with only one monster! We have Gagagarevenge to act as a monster reborn, but we also have this card as another interesting option.

So, if a bunch of monsters you control are destroyed by battle, including one Gagaga, you can special summon all your monsters destroyed by battle that turn so far, but you take 600 a piece. Not only does this allow you to bring back a Gagaga, but it allows you to set-up the field for the next turn for some xyz summoning. If that doesn't sound appealing, you could also use this as a mini-wall. They kill two monsters, you take 1200 and bring them right back to protect you once again.

It's a very strong card to help gain field advantage. The main issue that I have with it is if you had 2+ monsters already summoned.... why haven't you already xyz summoned already? Unless they dropped Maxx "C" or Effect Veiler, you should already have your field set-up with 2+ monsters, one of which being a Gagaga.

There is definitely some use for this card, however I wouldn't use more than a copy in a dedicated Gagaga deck.

Plenty of revival in the deck already, but it does provide a defense if needed. Plus, multiple monsters never hurts!

Decent here, but why would you play a Gagaga deck in traditional?

I really like the art style of Gagaga Magician; mainly because he reminds me of the original himself.

Alright today we have a card for the Gagaga archetype. Gagaga decks haven’t had too much popularity but all of these new cards for the deck might actually make the deck pretty good. Let’s get on to the review of this card.

Now at first glance this card may just seem okay. It can bring back monsters that were destroyed by battle the turn it is activated as long as a Gagaga monster was destroyed by battle. This card seems like a very defensive card but in reality it can really make some very cool plays.

Now there are actually a few ways you could play this card. You can use it for defensive purposes by letting you monsters be destroyed by battle and activating this in the end phase to special summon them all back. You can also use it in a more offensive way. By using Mystic Tomato with this spell, you can keep slamming tomatoes into your opponent’s monsters and then special summoning more tomatoes and eventually a Gagaga monster letting it also get destroyed. Then after all of that, you can play this card to special summon back your Gagaga monster and all of the Mystic Tomatoes again to use for defense or Xyzing purposes.

The only problem with this card is that it causes some burn damage to the user. That’s what makes this spell more balanced. Without this burn damage and its condition, this card would be too good in Gagaga decks.

Advanced: 3.5/5
-In a Gagaga deck this card should probably be used. It is a bit situational but it’s good. It is a good card and may lead to some really cool plays as Gagaga decks get more support.

Traditional: 1/5
-Gagaga decks are just too slow for this format. It just wouldn’t be good here.

Art: 4/5
-The card looks kind of cool. It is pretty decent art but not too impressive.

Quick-Play Spell

Wrapping up our 2013 Zexal Collection Tin week is the quick play spell card Gagagaback, another card for the growing Gagaga archetype of Yuma’s.  Gagagaback allows you to special summon all monsters destroyed by battle this turn as long as 1 of them was a Gagaga in DEF mode. However you lose 600 life points for each monster special summoned by this effect. This is a double edged sword, in order for this card to really be worthwhile you would have to summon more than just the 1 monster, but that will also result in you losing a fair amount of life points. Granted you can only activate 1 of these per turn, but it is hard to see why you would activate more than 1 in any given turn.

Overall the chance to special summon a lot of monsters is good, but I don’t like damaging myself in order to do it.
