Triple Star Trion makes me wish I wasn't so hard
on Kuriphoton...Level 1, Light, Warrior, the latter
two are at least good things. 100 attack and
defense, and he can Special Summon himself from the
Graveyard...IF you tributed for him...IF it was for
a Tribute Summon. How often is that likely to
happen, and even if you're playing something or lots
of somethings that require Tributes, you're most
likely never ever going to need this card.
Ratings:
1/5 both Formats
Art: 2/5 Even the picture isn't very good

Triple Star Trion ends the week. Trion has kind
of a Treeborn Frog thing going, as everytime it is
sent to the graveyard for a tribute summon, you can
special summon it during the end phase. I like this
card mainly because I like One for One a lot, and
Trion can be used in that fashion to get out a 1
tribute monster, like a Monarch, and get your
tribute back at your end phase. Even if you use
monsters that require 2 tributes, you get those two
back. Lather, rinse, repeat....sort of. Trion's
stats aren't the best at only 100/100 for ATK and
DEF, so they are easily dealt with. But
LIGHT/Warrior are supported like crazy, even Double
Summon is useful. If you like using decks with a few
tribute monsters, such as Monarchs, Yubel or even
the Egyptian Gods, this is a sure fire pick.

Today we are looking at: Triple Star Trion
“During the End Phase, if this card is in the

Special Summon this card from the Graveyard.”
On one hand I could see this guy going the way of
the “D-Boyz”, on the other hand this could lead to
some hilarious Frog Monarch plays. I think everyone
should take note of the frog deck that topped the
last YCS. More and more budget friendly strategies
are starting to get traction in the Meta (Until
Win-Books get their new card) and this card could
very well end up as an interesting tech choice
somewhere down the road. Or it could get well
acquainted with shoeboxes everywhere waiting for its
day. I will be keeping him in mind for some of the
stranger builds I work on.
Advanced: 2/5 (Until it finds a home)

Wrapping up this week is Triple Star Trion; the
last couple of level 1 monsters were rubbish and
this…. is no different. Why? Along time ago Konami
released a card call Samsara Kaiser which allowed
you to return it to your hand if you used it for a
tribute summon, this is similar to Samsara Kaiser
but it has a special summon effect instead. The
problem? Well you never got to use Samsara Kaiser’s
effect because it died all too easily before you got
a chance to use it. This suffers the same problem,
special summon effect or not.
Overall just play Treeborn Frog
