Coming in at Number 9 is a Chaos Number variant, in Number C105: Battling Boxer Comet Cestus. This is a brute of an XYZ Monster, being Rank 4, and XYZ Summoned with FOUR Level 5 Monsters. Cestus is a Fire attributed Warrior Monster, with 2800 attack and 2000 defense. Honestly, this is one of the times I see the now Chaos version as the better card here. Not to say this card is bad at all.

Anyway, for this card, if it destroys an opponent's Monster by Battle, and sends it to the Graveyard, half the attack of the destroyed Monster is dealt to your opponent as Damage. I mean, burn in this kind of amount, and constant, is a ridiculously awesome thing to have on your side. Is it worth four XYZ Material--perhaps not. Now if you use the non Chaos XYZ form of this Monster for XYZ Summon, you gain an additional bonus.

By discarding an XYZ Material from this card, you can target a Monster your opponent controls and destroy it. In this instance, the entire Monsters attack is dealt as Damage to your opponent's Lifepoints. Both the Monsters involved here are very good, and if played correctly will win you games, one way or another, alone or together.

Ratings:

Traditional: 2.5/5 The XYZ Summon may be very difficult to accomplish here

Advanced: 4.5/5 Great card, truly, still not the easiest thing in the world to do, but awesome.

Number 9 on our list is a number itself. Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Cestus is one of those new-fangled Chaos Xyz monsters. It requires 4 level 5 monsters, or use Rank-Up-magic Barian's Force on the regular Number 105. With the great stats of 2800/2000 backing up Cestus, that alone makes him hard to deal with. When Cestus destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the grave, you can inflict damage to your opponent's LP by half of the ATK of the destroyed monster. But he also has something that a lot of duelists love, instant destruction. If you have the regular version of Cestus as Xyz material to this Chaos version, you can detach 1 Xyz material from this card to target and destroy 1 monster your opponent controls, if you do, inflict damage to your opponent's LP equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. Cestus can really wreck an opponent if used at the right time, and defiantly win a few games. His 1-2 punch of destroying monsters by battle and his effect to inflict damage can drop an opponent's LP to zero real quick.

Welcome to day 2 of our coverage over the top 10 cards of Lord of Tachyon Galaxy! Today we will covering one of the new evolution of Zexal monsters that uses the Rank-Up Magic cards. This is one of the strongest of these monsters introduced, and so lets take a look at Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus!

Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus
Rank 5/ FIRE/ Warrior

4 Level 5 monsters
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's original ATK. If this card has "Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK on the field.

2800/2000

Ok, so lets get this straight... you will never want to summon this with 4 level 5's. This is because that you won't get the additional effect, which is the good effect of this card! So, you will need to summon the regular 105 and then use the current Rank-Up magic card available to us, which isn't terrible to say the least.

So, you give up 3 monsters to summon the original 105, hope it lives, and then successfully play the rank-up spell card, and then summon this. So, the question is if this is worth it? Well, it has both the effect of Elemental Hero Flame Wingman And a one sided ring of destruction in one! Considering both of these effects on one monster, that is pretty impressive as it can rack up enough damage to kill an opponent all on its own.

Is it worth it? I think its pretty decent. It isn't too hard to summon in a Boxer deck, but.... I think some of the later chaos xyz monsters are much better. Plus, lets not forget that this is the format of chainable backrow and easy destruction.

On a casual level, I think this card is definitely a taker; competitive.... not so much.

Advanced: 3.00

The effect is simply amazing.... if you can get it off. The investment is quite large for one card.

Traditional: 1.15

ya.... no.

Next up on our top 10 countdown is: Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus

“4 Level 5 monsters

When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's original ATK. If this card has "Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.

So this guy is kind of horrific and/or interesting. Starting with his cost to bring out we see four level five monsters. Yes, you did read that correctly, it takes four LEVEL FIVE monsters to XYZ summon him. That is a rather high cost even with stuff like Solar Wind Jammer.
The effect on the other hand almost makes up for it; almost. He has a decent battle destruction burn effect (A la E-hero flame wingman), but the real meat and potatoes is if you used Number 105 as a material. You get a once per turn, one sided, ring of destruction. That alone almost makes me want to try my hand at an OTK deck built around him (almost). Until we get a bit more reliable level five swarmability, I don’t see this having much of an impact on the tier 1-2 Meta.

Today we are on number 9 on the Top Ten LOTG List. Today’s card is a card that I didn’t expect to be on this list. It is an interesting card but is it really one of the best cards from this pack? Let’s check it out!!

Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus
Attribute: Fire
Types: Warrior/Xyz/Effect
Rank 5
4 level 5 monsters
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's original ATK. If this card has "Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.

ATK/2800 DEF/2500

The first thing I noticed when I looked at this card is that it is a rank 5 monster that can be created with 4 level 5 monsters. That is a pretty rough way to summon a monster. Most likely you would be making this monster using Rank-up Magic Barian’s Force. That would probably be the easiest way to summon this monster but is it really worth all the trouble. This monster has nice stats and a pretty nice effect. If it destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the grave it inflicts some burn damage based on half the destroyed monster’s attack points. Also when Number 105 is attached to this monster it gains an effect that is very similar to the effect of Volcasaurus. This monster seems to have some potential because there will be more “rank-up” magic cards released in the future but isn’t too special right now.

Advanced: 1.5/5
-I might be rating this card a bit low but I honestly see no good reason to use this monster. It just doesn’t seem like it’s worth all of the trouble to summon it. It does have some potential but it isn’t all that great right now. If you have the chance to summon it you probably already won.

Traditional:1/5

Art: 5/5
- Very cool-looking monster. It’s pink and purple but also looks a little badass. It’s too bad it isn’t as good as it looks.

Today's Card of the Day Review is Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus.

That's quite a name.

It is the first mass-released Over-Hundred Chaos Number released in the TCG and it does pack a punch. It takes a massive 4 Level 5 monsters to normally Xyz Summon but you can bypass that by Xyz Summoning Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus and then use Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to bring this out with an additional effect.

It has a solid 2800 ATK with 2000 DEF. Here is the effect:

"When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's original ATK. If this card has "Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK on the field."

First of all, if you were to bring this out, you got a 2800 ATK monster that adds more damage whenever it defeats a monster via battle, which can easily be a nice game-ender. However, if you were to get Number 105 attached to it as an Xyz Material by using Barian's Force on Number 105, you get an additional effect which is just brutal.

Remember Number 61: Volcasaurus? I certainly do. This extra effect is basically that. Detach an Xyz Material, target a monster, and blow it up with its ATK going to your opponent's face in a blazing fist of glory.

Yum.

In fact, this version of Number 61's effect got a small, but noticeable, boost. Volcasaurus's effect only deal damage equal to its original ATK. Number C105 does damage equal to its current ATK so if you blow up a monster with ATK-boosting Equip Spells on it, your opponent is going to feel all of it. Add that with its original effect adding more burn when it beats something up with a pulse and this card will easily be a game-ended worthy of being feared.

Now, even if you don't want to use Number 105 to get to this bad boy, fear no more. You can bring this out using other Xyz Monsters and Rank-Up-Magic.

For example, since Rank-Up-Magic can bring out any Number C or CXyz Monster with the same Type but 1 Rank higher, this can be brought out with any Rank 4 Warrior-Type monster. Number 39: Utopia, Heroic Champion - Excalibur, Number C39: Utopia Ray, Gagaga Cowboy, and many others just to name a few so if you want access to it, you can definitely do so with some commonly played Xyz Monsters. Just need Rank-Up-Magic to call out Number C105 and bring the pain.

Overall, this card is pretty good. It blows monsters up, it blows opponent's up once it beats a monster up in a fiery rage, and it gets to all of that while looking pretty darn awesome. I also would say this is a semi-staple for Rank-Up-Magic decks since it can be brought out with many Rank 4 Warrior-type monsters.

Traditional Format: 1/5 (It won't make the cut here. Sorry.)
Advanced Format: 3/5 (It got some value competitively here but the deck will have to run Barian's Force to get there and most decks can't afford the space, both in the Main Deck and Extra Deck, to account for this. Still, keep this in mind if you ever want more value out of your Gagaga Cowboy or Excalibur.)

Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus

FIRE/Warrior/Xyz/Effect/Rank5/2800/2000
4 Level 5 monsters

When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's original ATK. If this card has "Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.

* Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK on the field.

At number 9 of our top 10 cards from Lord of the Tachyon Dragon is Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus, the main monster of ZeXal II Villain Alit and of the Battlin' Boxer archetype. Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus can be summoned two ways, the right way and the wrong way. The right way is to get out Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus and then use Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to summon this guy. The wrong way is to use 4 level 5 monsters, because unless you are using something like a Dark World deck and have just discarded a load of Silvas and Guulds or you have manipulated a lot of levels, you are never going to get 4 level 5 monsters on your field.

Anyway Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus has two effects, though one has to be gained. It’s main effect is a simple and powerful effect, destroy a monster by battle and the opponent loses life points equal to half the monsters ATK. The best thing about this effect is that it doesn’t require any Xyz Materials to use, which is really good and quite rare for a Xyz monster.

The second effect can only be gained if Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus is an Xyz Material, thus the reason to use Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force. By discarding 1 Material for this card, you can destroy an opponent’s monster and they lose life points equal to that monster’s ATK. Plus the monster can be face down and it doesn’t have any bad condition making this a really powerfull effect.

Overall, Number C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus is a really powerful card and a great example of how powerful Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force can be. If you are think about using Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force and Battlin’ Boxers this card is a must in your extra deck.
