Thursday
It began with Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon, it
evolved into Neo Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon, and now,
here we are again, Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon
Dragon. This card continues to steroid up the level
and abilities you've seen in different variations
before. This is a Rank 8 XYZ Dragon, XYZ Summoned
with two Level 8 Monsters. A Light attributed Dragon
with 3000 attack and 2500 defense.
Once per Battle Phase, at the start of your
Battle Phase, you can detach an XYZ Material from
this card to negate the effects of all other face-up
Monsters on the Field. Furthermore, their attack and
defense become their original attack and defense,
respectively. If you do any of these, during the
Battle Phase of this turn, each time an opponent's
card effect resolves, this card gains 1000 attack
until the end of this Battle Phase.
Also, as if all this weren't enough, it can make
a second attack during the Battle Phase this turn.
Cliche as this may sound, if you invest in this
card, he can likely win you a game in one turn.
Perhaps longer, but like anything involving high
resources, you gotta protect it. Duel intelligently
Ratings:
Traditional: 3/5 A Rank 8, even with only two XYZ
Material may not be easy in Traditional but a a Dark
Magician of Chaos and a Monster Reborn in the Grave
can make that easy enough.

The cover card of Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy
pulls into the Number 7 spot. Number 107: Galaxy
Eyes Photon Dragon is a Rank 8 Xyz LIGHT/Dragon
monster, needing any 2 level 8 monsters to summon.
Its ATK/DEF are the same as its regular Photon
Dragon counterpart with 3000/2500. But we're all
familiar with those stats, aren't we? Tachyon Dragon
can shut down a lot of things when he attacks, as
once you start your battle phase, you can detach 1
Xyz material from this card to negate the effects of
all other face up monsters, also their ATK/DEF stats
revert back to their original state. Whenever you do
any of these, Tachyon Dragon gains 1000 ATK for each
card opponent's card that resolves, until the end
phase. Also this card can make a second attack as
well. Right off the bat, Fire Fists are a huge
target for Tachyon Dragon, as they rely on a few
cards that can alter their ATK, and negate their
effects as well, so they can take a pounding from
this guy. It can also negate monsters like
Marshmellon, Spirit Reaper, and others that are hard
to get rid of by battle. He's easy to summon, great
stats, hard to overcome. Downsides? He can fall prey
to Dimensional Prison, Mirror Force and all other
defensive trap cards. But no risk = no reward.
Traditional: 3 (He's LIGHT, that means Chaos)

Welcome to number 7 of our list of the best cards
from Lord of Tachyon Galaxy! Today we pay homage to
the name of this set by covering the cover card. So,
lets take a look at Number 107: Galaxy Eyes Tachyon
Dragon!
Number 107: Galaxy Eyes Tachyon Dragon
Rank 8/ LIGHT/ Dragon
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per Battle Phase, at the start of your Battle
Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card;
negate the effects of all other face-up monsters
currently on the field, also their ATK and DEF
become their original ATK and DEF, and if you do any
of these, during the Battle Phase this turn, each
time an opponent's card effect resolves, this card
gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase,
also, it can make a second attack during each Battle
Phase this turn.
3000/2500
Yet another remake of the classic Blue-Eyes White
Dragon! Tachyon is quite the xyz monster and is my
favorite rank 8 that we currently have, due to how
powerful its effect can be. Its not too hard to
summon as well, Photons can easily summon this; so
can Hieratics and the new Blue-Eyes cards.
So what makes Tachyon Dragon stick out from the
other rank 8's that we currently have? Well, it
first can spread a field wide skill drain onto the
field and return all attack and defense back to
their original. Even without the second effect, this
is quite potent. It can make your opponent's
Zenmaines or Spirit reaper an easy target to kill or
make all the new Brotherhood cards easy to kill. But
the fun doesn't end there.
If your opponent activates an effect during the
battle phase, such as Giant Rat, Sangan, a Madolche
return effect, Ryko, etc etc; Tachyon gains another
1000 attack and gets to attack again! That can
create some huge damage against the correct monster
or deck.
In terms of disadvantages, Tachyon doesn't have
any fancy protection effects that make certain xyz
monsters strong. In addition, many of the effects
that are commonly used during the battle phase are
ones that can destroy Tachyon, such as Ryko. As
such, this effect isn't too useful at times.
Advanced: 3.25
In the right deck, this card can be deadly. Make
no mistake, be careful when facing down this monster
without the proper backrow.
Traditional: 1.25
Not really suited for here....

Today we are looking at number seven on our top
ten countdown: Number 107: Galaxy Eyes Tachyon
Dragon
“2 Level 8 monsters
Once per Battle Phase, at the start of your Battle
Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card;
negate the effects of all other face-up monsters
currently on the field, also their ATK and DEF
become their original ATK and DEF, and if you do any

time an opponent's card effect resolves, this card
gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase,
also, it can make a second attack during each Battle
Phase this turn.”
So right off the bat this card looks really good
in Heretic decks. With him on the field any dragon
brought out at 0 attack has its attack restored. He
is also good in Darkworld, Blue Eyes, and anything
else that spams level 8 monsters. His effect to
negate effects also appears to be permanent, unless
I missed something in the wording, which is a HUGE
boon to his playability. His attack reset for
monsters on the field, and getting an extra 1000
attack whenever an opponent’s effect resolves also
makes for nice damage potential. If you can play him
I don’t really see a reason not to.
Advanced: 4/5
Traditional: 2/5

Today we have another great card from Lord of the
Tachyon Galaxy. It’s a really good card that is #7
on the Top Ten List for LTGY. This card shows a lot
of potential and will probably just become even
better as time goes on. Let’s see what this card can
do!!
Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon
Attribute: Light
Types: Dragon/Xyz/Effect
Rank 8
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per Battle Phase, at the start of your Battle
Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card;
negate the effects of all other face-up monsters
currently on the field, also their ATK and DEF
become their original ATK and DEF, and if you do any
of these, during the Battle Phase this turn, each
time an opponent's card effect resolves, this card
gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase,
also, it can make a second attack during each Battle
Phase this turn.
ATK/3000 DEF/2500
So this monster has great stats for a rank 8
monster. Tachyon Dragon’s effect may seem a bit
confusing at first but it’s a good effect. Once per
battle phase you can activate its effect and negate
all the effects of all other face-up monsters on the
field. That can make a lot of cards like Spirit
Reaper, Zenmaines or even Dracossack useless but
this effect is also nice because the monsters’
effects will stay negated as long as they remain on
the field. This monster can also increase its Attack
points by 1000 and attack twice during the turn you
use this effect. Tachyon Dragon’s effect is pretty
great no matter how you look at it. It’s also a
generic Xyz monster because it can be made with any
level 8 monsters. That makes it a great choice in
decks like Malefics, Dark Worlds, and eventually in
Gimmick Puppets.
Advanced: 4/5
-Overall this card is pretty good. It can be used in
a multitude of decks but probably won’t make too
much of an impact this format.
Traditional: 2/5
Art: 5/5
-This dragon looks really amazing. It’s easily one
of the best looking dragons in the game.

Today's Card of the Day review, and #7 of Pojo's
Top 10 cards from the newly-released Lord of the
Tachyon Galaxy cards is the cover card itself,
Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!
This Rank 8 Dragon has 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF,
which has the same stats as the iconic Blue-Eyes
White Dragon, which is funny because this can be Xyz
Summoning using 2 Blue-Eyes White Dragons.
Anyway, it is the effect that mechanical dragon
has that makes it so worthy of the being a booster
pack cover:
Once per Battle Phase, at the start of your
Battle Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from
this card; negate the effects of all other face-up
monsters currently on the field, also their ATK and
DEF become their original ATK and DEF, and if you do
any of these, during the Battle Phase this turn,
each time an opponent's card effect resolves, this
card gains 1000 ATK until the end of the Battle
Phase, also, it can make a second attack during each
Battle Phase this turn.
Needless to say, that is quite a complex effect
it has.
First of all, the TCG badly needed this card. Our
Rank 8 options before we got Number 107 was Number
40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings, Number 88: Gimmick
Puppet of Leo, Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, and
Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis. The
first 2 is 2-material Rank 8 but Number 40 is not
that good at all for competitive play (OKish for
casual play though) and Hieratic Sun Dragon is our
best Rank 8 but it normally costs resources to get
full value out of it. The latter 2 (Neo Galaxy-Eyes
Photon Dragon and Number 88) needs 3 Level 8
monsters to summon making them big gimmick at best.
Therefore we needed a good but low-resource Rank
8 Xyz Monster. We finally got it in Number 107 and
it certainly delivers.
First of all, by entering your Battle Phase, you
can detach an Xyz Material to send out permanent
Effect Veilers to every other monster on the field.
That's sick right there. Spirit Reaper, Wind-Up
Zenmaines, Tragoedia, Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack,
Metaion the Timelord......none of them can avoid
that wrath. Even better, it is a permanent negation
so they are basically just Vanilla monsters while on
the field. Secondly their ATK/DEF goes back to what
it was originally was. Now, I'm not sure if this
will work so check up on it beforehand but this can
render Equip Spells like Axe of Despair to be
useless since the monster it is equipped to loses
the benefit from Axe of Despair. If so, that is
pretty darn sweet.
Now, keep in mind: Number 107 does this to ALL
monsters on the field except itself, including your
monsters. However, you can use that to your
advantage. For example, if you have Number 107 and
Photon Thrasher on the field, by using Number 107's
effect, Photon Thrasher can actually attack while
another monster is on the field now since its
attack-restriction effect is permanently negated.
This is just one of the neat benefits you can use
Number 107 for.
Fortunately for you, there's more to it if you
use this effect. Once you do so and start attacking,
if your opponent activates and resolves any card
effect (it doesn't matter if it is a monster effect,
Spell, or Trap card effect), your Number 107 becomes
even more fearsome by gaining an 2nd attack along
with a 1000 ATK boost. If your opponent keeps
resolves card effects, it will keep gaining ATK
however you can only get one extra attack a Battle
Phase. So if you were to see a Tragoedia being
activated and resolves, Number 107 will have 4000
ATK and can blast Tragoedia in the face. Gorz isn't
so lucky either since either Gorz or the Token will
die as well esp. since Number 107 will have a grand
total of 5000 ATK.
This is why it is a good idea that if you were to
attack with Number 107 and there is backrow that you
keep some Forbidden Lances and Forbidden Dresses on
hand. If they were to activate a Dimensional Prison
or Mirror Force, you can protect Number 107 with a
Forbidden Lance and still gain the extra attack and
an ATK boost, which will override your Forbidden
Spell card ATK reduction to begin with.
This is merely the tip of the iceberg here as, if
you were to watch the Japanese version of Zexal, we
have already seen the Chaos Number of this monster,
Chaos Number 107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon.
Unfortunately, its effects is not known just yet. In
the meantime, definitely keep your eye out on this
and if you do play Rank 8 Xyz monsters, I would say
that Number 107 is definitely a staple and a MASSIVE
boost for Galaxy/Photons since this card does count
as a Galaxy monster so you can use that to drop
Galaxy Knight with no tributes or bring it back to
the field with Galaxy Zero just so you can use
Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force (also in this cool set)
to bring out Chaos Number 107.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Case-in-point: I love this card name, I love its
effect, and frankly, the artwork on this card does
make for a pretty sick mat.
Watch yourself. Number 107 is here. Ignore it if
you dare.
Traditional Format: 1/5 (Unfortunately, it won't
make the cut here. I would play it there just for
the coolness factor though.)
Advanced Format: 4/5 (It's one of the best, if not
the best, Rank 8 Xyz monster we have and will most
likely be the best one for quite some time. It takes
something truly broken to beat out Number 107 from
being a Rank 8 staple at this point of the game.)

Number 107: Galaxy Eyes Tachyon Dragon
LIGHT/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/Rank8/3000/2500

At number 7 of our top 10 cards from Lord of the
Tachyon Dragon is Number 107: Galaxy Eyes Tachyon
Dragon, the cover card of this set. Number 107:
Galaxy Eyes Tachyon Dragon wants to be the next
Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon, but is it? To be honest…
no. GEPD’s effect ruined your opponent’s Xyz monster
by removing their material and it could protect
itself from cards like Mirror Force and the like.
GETD doesn’t have that, GETD is designed for one
thing, attack, attack and attack. Granted it can
negate all other face-up monster’s effects and reset
their stats, and it can gain loads of extra ATK and
have the chance of a second attack, but it has no
protection and its effect only works on face-up
monsters at the time the effect resolves. So attack
a face-down Ryko and it still will get destroyed.
Mirror Force will still destroy it, etc.
Overall, GEPD is better, same stats and it has at
least a bit of protection.
