Coming to our final XYZ Monster this week (yep,
not looking at one tomorrow) we look at CXyz
Skyplace Bablyon. This is the Chaos variant of a
card we recently looked at, being Skyplace
Gangardiai. Gangardiai is actually somewhat
playable, what do you get though if you decide to
use this too, or instead of, I suppose? We have a
Rank 11 XYZ Monster, XYZ Summoned with three (yes
THREE) Level 11 Monsters. (Let's look at this card
and pretend it doesn't require three Level 11
Monsters, although that will have to be reflected in
the scores). 3800 attack is massive, and 4000
defense is equally large, although only 400 more
than its Rank 10 counterpart (1000 more defense
though). Wind isn't a bad thing, although fairly
meaningless on a Machine Monster, while Limiter
Removal can make this guy be 7600 attack for one
turn. That's something to think about. So what do
you get for all your investments? It burns your
opponent for Damage equal to half the attack of a
destroyed Monster. Also, once a turn you can detach
an XYZ Material to have this card attack a second
time in a row, if it destroyed a Monster in Battle
this turn. IF it has Gangardiai as an XYZ Material.
Like most Chaos variants, thing thing is a
nightmare, it's not really worth your resources, as
if Level 11 Monsters are easy to come by, you're
going to have to make them. Skyplace Gangardiai at
least has some promise, if you can pull this guy
out, you should automatically win.

CXyz Skyplace Babylon
Howdy there, todays card is CXyz Skyplace Babylon, I
am not sure what Konami has in store for the whole
Chaos bit, I feel it is an attempt to rekindle the
Invasion of Chaos in a new way, is it working. I
don't think so, most of the CXYZ monsters that came
from Number Hunters don't really have an effect
worth investing into it. This is one of them not
much to say, if you can pull it off, it is a more
powerful version of Cyber Twin with a higher
investment into it. Not fantastic.
Traditional: 1/5 (Monsters won't even stay on the
field long enough to get it out)
Advanced: 2/5 (Gimmicky effect that could benefit,
but realistically it is too much work to use it)
Art: 3/5 I enjoy the design, not sure what is going
on though.

Todays were looking at CXyz Skyplace Babalon a
rank 11 xyz monster card. I
want to like this card but it has one major flaw. No
built in protection.
Bottomless trap hole? Check. solemn warning? check?
There are just so many
things in todays meta that can take away all the
hard work that it took to
summon this even with Rank-up-magic Barians Force.
3,800 attack is fairly
beefy and the 4,000 defense makes it all the better
however you wouldn't
want to put this in defense if you went through all
the trouble to bring it
out anyway so it might not matter. Now lets talk
about its effects. When
this monster destroys an opponents monster by battle
and it hits the
graveyard your opponent takes damage equal to half
the monsters original
attack. Also if you have a Skyplace Gangaridai
(weird name) as one of
Babalons xyz materials it gains the ability to
attack once again in a row.
A nice added effect. This card can end games granted
your opponents does
not have a sakuretsu armor or d. prison waiting you
could deal the
finishing blows. This guy needs his own deck to work
might be fun to try
but I wouldn't enter a serious tournament with it.
Ratings:
Traditional: 2/5
Does a little better here since this format is a
little slow.
Advanced: 1/5 With all the otks in tthis
format it gets an even lower score for being so slow
Art: 5/5 Trippy looking cool picture

So, first to introduce myself as a new writer
here on Pojo. I'll try to be as objective and
informative is possible when reviewing cards so your
reading would be pleasant experience as writing
these articles for you. :)
Let's us begin then...
What we have here is by all means BIG monster.
CXyz Skypalace Babylon is highest rank Xyz monster
at Rank 11 and also one with the highest DEF of all
Xyz monsters clocking at 4000 DEF points . His
attack is also one of the highest at 3800 ATK
points.
His first effect is burn damage through
destroying monsters and inflicting half of the ATK
points of destroyed monster as a damage to your
opponents life points - pretty good.
Second part of effect is based on having
Skypalace Gangaridai as a Xyz Material and its
apsolutely crazy. By detaching 1 Material when this
monster destroys monster by battle, you will get
second attack in a row with this behemoth.
Now for the bad news... you will have a hard time
summoning this monster. In most times where you
would have 3 monsters of level 11 you should be
already winning.
But if you insist on making it, Rank-Up-Magic
Barian's Force used on Skypalace Gangaridai should
be the way to do it and use it's fullest power. So,
you have best bets including this in your Extra Deck
if you happen to run Mecha Phantom Beasts, some deck
with double Tragoedia or, in worst case scenarios,
double Mecha Reflect Slime backed by Rank-Up-Magic
Barian's Force.
Thing that really bugs me when even looking at
this card is - its not worth the investment, no
matter how you looked at it.
It's really hard to bring it out, don't pays off
on summon, and it's too easy to shut down with most
of the staple traps and all of destruction effects
in decks this format.
And as I said before - by the time you actually
get the materials and set up the field for his
Summon, you are already winning and this is just so
unnecessary.

Advanced:2/5

This thing is huge.

Hey guys, this is my first review and i have my work
cut out for me. Today we are looking at CXyz
Skypalace Babylon. A rank 11, 3800atk and 4000 def
xyz monster.
Automatically some
red flags should pop up. For starters it requires 3
level 11 monsters to summon, which the game is
lacking. But luckily this guy can be summoned via
Rank Up, preferably with Skypalace Gangaridai. If
the summon is successful, again another red flag,
(there's always a lot of risk summoning an xyz
monster, but even more so with requirements like
this) this guy will pack a helluva punch. If this
card destroys a monster by battle your opponent
takes damage equal to half of the destroyed monsters
attack. On average in the Meta Game you'll see
monsters with 2500-3000 atk. If this guys attack is
successful that's roughly 2500 damage from one
attack. Which is ok.
But what makes this
guy shine is his second effect, that if it destroys
a monster by battle it can attack again. Keep in
mind that Babylon doesn't have to attack another
monster, it can be a direct attack. You do the math
guys. Of course that's assuming your opponent
doesn't have some backrow or monster effect that can
stop you.
To summon this guy you're gonna
need to summon Skypalace Gangardia, which was
reviewed not too long ago here on pojo. A good combo
that works is by having a level 10 monster in the
grave, preferably a tragoedia and 2 other monsters
with different levels. activate Message in a bottle.
normal summon any other monster and activate galaxy
queens light (a 3 card combo with some set up of the
grave) you have 4 level 10 monsters out. of course
the logical thing to do here is to summon Gustav Max
and deal 4000 dmg and attack with 2 beefy monsters.
Or you could summon a gustav max, a skypalace and
then rank skypalace for some over kill action.
If you have the ability to do
this type of set up in any other way or this one,
then chances are you can win with gustav max. But if
you're anything like me, you wanna be flashy and
summon Babylon just to see your opponent get jelly.
So is this card practical in
today's meta? sadly no. I say no because I haven't
had a chance to build a deck around this idea just
yet, for next time if it's possible, I'll try out
the card and see it's play-ability. It needs a deck
of it's own, which wouldn't technically be bad. Some
trags, tour guides, 3000def Smile trap card, etc,
add in a rank up card with good backrow support and
you have a decent otk deck. even the gagaga monsters
can summon this guy out, or a defense otk deck off
the top of my head
Traditional: 1/5
Advance: 3 (I give it a solid 3 because it has
potential with the new rank up support hopefully
coming soon)
art: 2 (in the anime it looks very massive, probably
for compensation reasons)

CXYZ Skypalce Babylon
Wind/Machine/Rank 11/ATK 3800/ DEF 4000
3 Level 11 monsters
When this card destroys a monster by battle and
sends it to theGraveyard: Inflict damage to your
opponent equal to half the original ATKof the
destroyed monster in the Graveyard. If this card has
"Skypalace Gangaridai" as an Xyz Material, it gains
this effect.
● Once per turn, if this card destroys a monster by
battle: You candetach 1 Xyz Material from this card;
it can make a second attack in a row.
First off, good luck summoning this with three
level 11 monsters; unless you use Galaxy Queen's
Light or something, it's not going to happen with
conventional means. However, putting its base form,
Skypalace Gangaridai on the field is much simpler,
requiring only two level 10 monsters. You can then
use the rank-up magic of your choice to summon this
monster.
But is it worth your time? The lower-rank
Skypalace has the effect of targeting one opponent's
card, destroying it, and burning them for 1000
damage. That's great, but it can't attack
afterwards. That's when you would rank-up into this
card, hopefully using its effect to destroy an
unsuspecting monster, burn with the first effect,
then detaching to use the other effect and attacking
for game.
This sounds great on paper, but there are too
many issues here to make it worthwhile. First, the
two level 10 monsters you need to summon the first
Skypalace. The most likely decks to make a rank 10
are Gishkis and Hieratics, and both of those would
typically rather summon Gustav Max and burn for 2000
damage instantly than play around with rank-up magic
cards and a less-powerful burn effect. The other big
thing to worry about with something like this is the
fact that almost everyone has some creative way of
dealing with this: you have all the normal trap
problems; Warning, Bottomless, Compulse, that sort
of thing. Then there are deck-specific ways of
dealing with it, such as Fate, the myriad of Mermail
effects, Icarus Attack, you name it. And lastly of
course, Forbidden Lance and Dress prevent you from
even using rank-up magic.
Basically, to make a long-story short, unless you
really want to make a deck based on a space station,
and you're not willing to use Dyson Sphere, then you
can play this. However, it would really take its own
deck to play, require protection, and really nothing
else not dedicated to making it happen. In the
standard extra decks, stick to Gustav.
Traditional: 1/5, good luck
Advanced: 1.5/5 because Gangaridai isn't too
horrible on its own.
Art: 3/5, looks like an airborne vacuum cleaner
Thanks for reading!
