Relinquished
- #MRL-029 You can Ritual Summon this card with "Black Illusion Ritual". Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; equip that target to this card. (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card with this effect.) This card's ATK and DEF become equal to that equipped monster's. If this card would be destroyed by battle, destroy that equipped monster instead. While equipped with that monster, any battle damage you take from battles involving this card inflicts equal effect damage to your opponent.

Relinquished? Been a long time since Relinquished
has been able to wreck things in the tournament
scene, no? Although I suppose that was just as
much, if not more so, Thousand Eye Restrict.
Relinquished does do some really cool, and annoying
things. TER is Banned, Metamorphosis is Banned, and
even if they weren't, using Relinquished to get to
TER would be a bit absurd. If you're going for a
straight Pegasus Deck, I mean...Relinquished needs
its own Deck to work anyway. Assuming it works at
all, I haven't seen it used in years and years.
Ratings:
Traditional: At least in Traditional you CAN use
TER and Metamorphosis, but I'm not sure why you'd
use Relinquished too. 1.5/5

Relinquished
DARK/Spellcaster/Ritual/Effect/Level 1/0/0
You can Ritual Summon this card with "Black Illusion
Ritual". Once per turn: You can target 1 monster
your opponent controls; equip that target to this
card. (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to
this card with this effect.) This card's ATK and DEF
become equal to that equipped monster's. If this
card would be destroyed by battle, destroy that
equipped monster instead. While equipped with that
monster, any battle damage you take from battles
involving this card inflicts equal effect damage to
your opponent.
Finally this week is Relinquished, one of my
favourite cards of all time and it hasn’t been
reviewed since its release.
Statwise Relinquished isn’t much, it is a DARK/Spellcaster
so there is plenty of support there, with 0 ATK and
DEF which is bad no matter what the level of the
monster. Of course Relinquished is a Ritual Monster
which is sadly under-supported but Relinquished is
level 1 so getting him out is very easy.
Of course Relinquished’s main thing is his great
effect, he can target 1 of your opponent’s monsters
and that monster equips to Relinquished, turning
that monster’s ATK and DEF against its owner. Plus
while it has a monster equipped, the opponent takes
any battle damage involving Relinquished making them
carefully when attacking Relinquished, especially
when the equipped monster is destroyed instead of
Relinquished..
Despite being one of my Favourite cards,
Relinquished isn’t perfect. It is a ritual monster
so all the problems that they have apply to him.
Also if he loses his equipped monster due to battle
or generally a card effect or his effect is negated
then you are stuck with a monster with 0 ATK that is
probably in ATK mode.
Overall a fun card and it can be quite dangerous but
being under supported as a ritual; it probably needs
its own deck.
