Skypalace Gangaridai is a brute of an XYZ Monster, and I think it would be appropriate to compare it to Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max. Like Gustav Max, this is a Rank 10 XYZ Monster, XYZ Summoned with two Level 10 Monsters. Both are Machines, so Limiter Removal can be used, and Gangaridai is slightly stronger than Gustav Max, with 3400 attack, instead of 3000 (and 3000 so the stats are about the same. Gangaridai is Wind however, while Gustav Max is Earth. Gustav Max can discard an XYZ Material to deal 2000 Damage to your opponent. Gangaridai can detach an XYZ Material to target and destroy a card your opponent controls, and if successful, you deal 1000 Damage to your opponent. Now, even though its less Damage than the effect of Gustav Max, it could be more beneficial to destroy a card also. But remember, the Damage is dependent on successfully destroying the card with this effect. Oh, and Gangaridai can't attack if you use this effect. If you're able to/need to/want to do a Rank 10, stick with Gustav Max.

Today’s card is a beastly Xyz monster called Skypalace Gangaridai. I say beastly because it takes two level 10 monsters to Xyz summon it and it has a whopping 3400 attack. Obviously, you will need to be playing a deck that can summon two level 10 monster in order to play Gangaridai, but having a monster with a monstrous attack that can destroy any card your opponent controls is definitely an advantage.

Summoning Skypalace Gangaridai is not that hard in the right deck. By playing cards like Cyber Eltanin, D.D. Esper Star Sparrow, Darklord Desire, Darkness Neosphere, Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord, Malefic Cyber End Dragon, Metaion the Timelord, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Tragoedia, and Metal Reflect Slime you can easily get two level 10 monsters to the field quickly. One nice combo is to special summon Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord to clear your graveyard of monsters and then summon Mirror Ladybug to copy Exodius and Xyz summon Gangaridai.

By using a combination of some of the above cards, you can make just about any deck into one that can summon Gangaridai. By adding Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and/or Tragoedia and Metal Reflect Slime, we can turn any Dragon deck into one that can summon Gangaridai. Once summoned, you can use Skypalace Gangaridai’s effect to destroy one of your opponent’s cards and then use Rank-Up-Magic Barian’s Force to Xyz summon CXyz Skypalace Babylon to give you the ability to attack with 3800 in attack and the possibility of inflicting half of a monsters attack that you destroy by battle.

Let’s compare Skypalace Gangaridai to the other monster that requires 2 level 10 monsters to Xyz Summon. Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max can inflict 2000 in damage and still attack with 3000 or 6000 is you use Limiter Removal. If destroying a card on the field is more important than effect damage then go with Skypalace, otherwise go with Gustav. If you are playing a deck based around level 10 monsters, go with both Xyz monsters.

Dealing with level 10 monsters and Xyz summoning rank 10 monsters is not the most consistent deck type. While Skypalace Gangaridai is a beastly monster, it is not one that can compete with the current Meta very well.

Alright!! I’m finally back from a really long break. I’ve been focusing on school and other personal stuff but I’m back to do some reviews. Today we are reviewing a card that actually looks like it has a lot of potential and may even see play in the future. So here it is.

Skypalace Gangaridai
Attribute: Wind
Types: Machine/Xyz/Effect
Rank 10

2 Level 10 monsters
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. You can only use the effect of "Skypalace Gangaridai" once per turn. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect.
ATK/3400 DEF/3000

This card is pretty good. It has great attack and defense stats with a nice effect. This monster’s effect lets you detach a material from it to destroy any card on your opponent’s side of the field. That’s huge because it makes this card versatile. You can use it to destroy monsters or backrow. The way I see it, any kind of spot removal is normally good. Then after destroying a card with this card’s effect you can burn your opponent by 1000 which seems like a nice bonus.

The only big issues with this card is that it is normally difficult summoning rank 10 monsters and it can’t attack the turn you activate its effect. I think this card could definitely see play in the future if rank 10 monsters become easier to summon. It almost reminds me of Number 11: Big Eye. Most people didn’t think Big Eye would see much play because rank 7’s were hard to summon in the past. Now it’s much easier and I think the same could possibly happen with this card. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that people should stock up on this card but it could be a good card eventually.

Advanced: 2/5
-I think this card could be good in the future but right now it isn’t too special. The only reason I gave it a 2 is because it has potential. Right now I wouldn’t suggest playing it in any deck and would definitely suggest using Gustav Max over this card if you had the choice.

Traditional: 1/5
-This card is terrible in this format. It doesn’t work well with Chaos decks and it doesn’t look like this card would help with any OTK’s either.

Now this is a bit off topic but I thought I’d mention it. Recently I went to a regional tournament in Tinley Park, IL. I ended up getting 28th place and I posted a tournament report on the Pojo Forums. Here’s the link if you would like to read it: http://www.pojo.biz/board/showthread.php?t=1157548. Also if any of you players are around the Chicago area, you can come by to Top Cut Comics on Archer Avenue on the weekends if you want to meet and/or play against me.
