Still looking at older cards, we look at Reckless
Greed. This Trap lets you Draw two cards from the
Deck, at the effect of skipping two Draw Phases.
Note that isn't a cost, but rather an effect, and
if you were to activate two, or even three of these
at the same time, you would Draw four, or six cards,
and only lose two Draws. That's fun, certainly
advantage to you for sure. Sometimes you see that
trick get pulled off in Turbo Exodia, assuming
anyone out there still plays some variation of that.
There's just better Draw options out there
available.

Reckless Greed
Normal Trap
Draw 2 cards and skip your next 2 Draw Phases.
Next up we have Reckless Greed, another Card Drawing
card that hasn’t been Banned yet. It’s a Normal Trap
so it is chainable which is good and it allows you
to draw 2 cards, which is always good. It does have
a big downside and that is you skip your next 2 Draw
Phases. No matter how you look at it skipping 2 Draw
Phases is really bad.
This card is only really useful if you are drawing a
lot of card in one turn to make up for the fact you
wouldn’t be getting anything new into your hand for
two turns. Also it is a trap card so it is a bit on
the slow side.
Overall, chainable pot of greed is good, but the
downside is a bit too steep, especially if you don’t
get anything good.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Today we're getting a little reckless and a little
greedy with Reckless Greed. A Normal Trap Card,
Reckless Greed allows you to draw 2 cards from your
deck, but then you have to skip your next 2 Draw
Phases.
This is a +1 for you, drawing two and using one,
giving you immediate resources to use. If you chain
a second Reckless Greed to the first the turns do
not stack, meaning you will still only have to wait
two Draw Phases to conduct your next Draw Phase.
Decks that need help with draw power will run this
card, and it is a card best run in 3's.
Skipping two Draw Phases can put you in a bind if
you run out of resources. If you draw the copies of
this card separately, then you can't capitalize on
the real potential of Reckless Greed. As a Normal
Trap, it can be countered by several cards, but that
isn't too much to worry about, since even if
Reckless Greed is negated, you won't need to skip
your next two Draw Phases.
Traditional-1/5- Like yesterday, too many better
choices
Advanced-3/5- Run in 3's, hope to get two at a time,
I have seen all three go off before
Art-3/5- looks like a trap to me (no pun intended)

Reckless Greed
Reckless Greed is an important meta card that may
not be a staple and may not represent the kind of
playstyle that every player would want, but there
are a lot of rewards to using it. It's chainable in
a triple-MST format. It speeds up your deck by
giving you the cards instantly. Like in Finance 101,
people say money now is more profitable than money
later. Same thing with cards. You're going to get
those 2 cards anyway. Why not just choose how to use
them in what way you like from the get-go. You can
also overwhelm your opponent with resources to make
things a -1 for them. Also, RG can get really nasty
when you combo it with 2 or even 1 additional RG.
On the downside, using 3 Reckless Greed (you
can't just use one) does take up space in your deck
and can hurt you when it draw it instead of a really
defense trap that you might need. And if you are
already using 3 Upstart Goblin, RG might dilute your
deck further and give you less options to beat down
your opponent with.
In Traditional, this card sucks (unless you are
using Makyura). No one is going to wait a turn to
draw 2 cards when they have lots of insanely
powerful draw options from turn 1 and they
essentially need to severely damage their opponent
in the first turn if they want to win.
Reckless Greed is one of those cards we look back
on say, why didn't we embrace this card earlier.
Though we are very much happy we get to use it now.
Traditional: 2.0 (Okay)
Advanced: 4.0 (Good)

Reckless Greed is a common choice for combo decks
and decks with a lot of other draw power. Reckless
is an immediate plus one in card advantage, but it
comes with the downside of not being able to draw
for two turns. This by itself makes a single
Reckless disadvantageous in the long run. But you
have to consider the possibility that the two cards
you draw allow you to gain extra positive card
advantage (this is why Reckless is good in combo
decks).
The best thing about Reckless is that two or three
copies stack positive effects but not negative
effects. You get to draw 2 cards for each copy, but
you only have to skip your draw for the next two
turns, even if you use multiple copies of Reckless.
This is why Reckless is good in decks where you
have other cards to allow you to draw into multiple
copies of Reckless easier.
Reckless isn't a draw card you can just throw into
your deck, like you can with Upstart Goblin, but in
the right deck, it's a very powerful card (just make
sure you're playing all 3 copies).
Rating: 4/5 (Very Good) |
