First of the Dragons
Tokens are Normal Monsters, by the way, so I've seen
Mecha Phantom Beast decks that splash in a Fusion
Gate just to open up the option for First of the
Dragons.
Understandable in that context, but not worth the
extra effort to summon.
Being unaffected by monster effects is great
and it can lock down numerous decks.
At the same time, decks like Burning Abyss
with a litany of traps like Phoenix Wing Wind Blast
and Fire Lake totally eat this card alive.
Could work well enough in fun duels and might win a
locals every now and then if pioneered skillfully,
but it doesn't stand a chance in this cut-throat
meta. If
Normal Monsters get more support, this card might be
more viable, but at the same time, If nasty trap
cards ever go away, and the format is reliant on
monster effects (Nekroz maybe?), this card could be
good again.
Right now, it's a meh card with some possibly
strong potential.

First of the Dragons
This is a rather interesting card for casual
players. This card allows Dragon Mirror to be
splashed in Normal Monster decks for free. An
additional summon capacity for budget players to
form up a boss monster. I definitely like this card
for the fun factor it has built into it. Also
another card I can play when starting new Yugioh
video games. (Humor Intended)

First of the Dragons
This is the latest instalment of support for Normal
monsters, mostly though this will fit into the realm
of a “Tech” for those few Decks that can afford to
Summon it without having to alter their strategy in
any way at all.
The first Deck that comes to mind for me is a
Blue-Eyes White Dragon Deck as that Deck can utilize
Dragon’s Mirror, one more monster that can be
Summoned by that makes it better.
Skull Servant Decks will be able to use this as some
already Tech Dragon’s Mirror so that they can Summon
Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon, First of the Dragons
provides another monster with which to Summon it
with.
Also any Deck that uses Rescue Rabbit can Tech in a
Dragon’s Mirror simply so that they can Summon this
as a surprise beater.
And of course a Deck such as Hieratics that is full
of Normal monsters can use this if so desired.
Being a Level 9, this could also be Summoned via
Cloudcastle.
And as a final tip, if any of the monsters being
Banished are of sufficiently low level, Leviair the
Sea Serpent can be Summoned to revive them
Rating: 1.75. Good idea for a card, sadly it just
doesn’t really tick enough boxes either in Attack
power or in having an ACTUAL effect that is useful!

Normal monsters get a Fusion-specific monster in
the form of a dragon named First of The Dragons.
Can't be Special Summoned in other ways other than
Fusion Summoning, this level 9 dragon is a
formidable foe if summoned.
Unable to be destroyed by a monster in battle unless
it is another Normal-type monster, this makes FoTD a
high-powered wall on the field. Unaffected by other
monsters effects adds another level of protection
against monsters that could kill it simply by being
flipped face-up or if destroyed by FoTD. 2700 ATK is
pretty dependable, and 2000 DEF will hold up well
enough in defense mode, considering the first effect
FoTD has.
Dedicated Gemini decks get a monster to have in 3's
in the Extra Deck now. Dragon's Mirror out FoTD
after two Gemini hit the grave. Pendulum Monsters
like Flash Knight can also work to bring this
monster out, and then be summoned again through a
Pendulum Summon. Though Rescue Rabbit is limited to
1, it would be helpful in searching out the
materials for this monster. Pop the rabbit, Special
any two Normal level 4 monsters, attack, then fuse
with Polymerization, or Xyz and have an option later
on with Dragon's Mirror. Fusion Substitute and Flash
Fusion are also options to help Fusion Summon this
monster. Not only Normal Monsters, but Tokens are
able to used as materials for the monster. Scapegoat
and Dandylion expand the possibilities of this
monster being summoned.
Though needing Normal Monsters for its summon, First
of The Dragons is a card that could easily be Fusion
Summoned. Once out, you likely won't need to worry
about it being killed off by your opponents
monsters. Protection in battle and from opponents
monster effects, First of The Dragons can be both a
wall and a boss for its user.
Advanced- 3/5- There is potential outside of Gemini
or Normal-based decks if you play fusion cards.

Hello Pojoites, and welcome to another Card of
the Day. For today's review, we have something quite
different, in First of the Dragons.
Non-Archetype related Fusion monsters are very, VERY
rare these days, so it is slightly interesting that
Konami would choose to make one, especially one as
cool as this. To start things off, its
requirements: two Normal monsters. Konami has been
making a lot of Normal Pendulum monsters nowadays,
so perhaps they are hinting at some future
development. Although its requirements may seem like
a pain, if you can get this card on the field, it
becomes a complete and total beast. Being both
indestructible by battle and unaffected by monster
effects can make this dragon a huge pain in the ass
to get rid of. Although, it is fairly easy to
counter through spells and traps.
In terms of making a deck to use this in, the
options are fairly few and far between, and I
wouldn't expect any of them to be competitive. Mecha
Phantom Beasts and Fusion Gate come to mind, due to
their constant token production and the tokens being
normal monsters. A possible Ojama variant perhaps,
utilizing Dragon's mirror as a less costly means of
fusion. Again, though, these would just be fun
decks.
All in all, if you can bring it out, a great boss.
However, it is really hard to efficiently get out,
so its rating will reflect that.
