Swordsman From a Distant Land (VERY distant) reminds
me of something you might have found in Labyrinth of
Nightmare, or a much older set, as it's an
incredibly weak, pretty useless card with an effect
that isn't awful but takes an insane amount of time
to resolve. Warrior is good, Earth is fine too,
Level 1 is what it is. They could have at least
made it a Tuner or something. If this card attacks,
it destroys the Monster it attacked after the 5th
End Phase of the attack. So you lose this Monster,
take probably a LOT of Damage, unless you blow
another card to protect yourself, and then still
wait all those turns. I mean, just no need at all.

Swordsman from a Distant Land
EARTH/Warrior/Effect/Level 1/250/250
If this card attacked an opponent's monster, after
damage calculation: Destroy that monster during the
5th End Phase after the attack.
Ah Swordsman from a Distant Land or Swordsman from a
Foreign Land as it was known in the old Video Games
was a favourite of in Duellists of the Roses and now
the proper card has finally been released. This
however is not the great card from Duellists of the
Roses.
This card requires you to attack the opponent’s
monster in order for that monster to die in 5 turns.
Yes you have to attack with a level 1 monster which
has 250 ATK so you can destroy a monster 5 turns
later. There are two HUGE flaws with this effect;
first of all this only has 250 ATK so you are going
to lose an attack, a monster and a lot of life
points with this card. Secondly, how many monsters
stay on the field for five turns, hardly any with
all the Extra Deck summoning and anti-monster
effects around, so you will probably never see a
monster destroyed by this effect.
Overall, a bad card which only has nostalgia factor
for people who played and enjoyed Duellists of the
Roses, other than that avoid.

Swordsman from a Distant Land
Howdy there today's card is Swordsman from a Distant
Land, a reprint we never got from Japan, I believe
this card was introduced back in like the original
days, honestly his effect is more or less trash, but
a level 1 warrior do have uses albeit not meta.
Traditional: 5/5 (CED fears him clearly, maybe a bit
of sarcasm, but would funny to witness)
Advanced: 0/5 (Collectible, retro, but useless)
Art: 5/5 I actually like the art, nostalgic of the
old cards

Swordsman from a Distant Land is a new monster
from Legacy of the Valiant. However, one would not
assume it is a new card or support given the stats
and effect of this monster. In fact, Swordsman from
a Distant Land would be considered mediocre at best
even if it were to have been released in the first
set of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, Legend of Blue Eyes
White Dragon (LOB) back in 2002. Quite frankly, with
well over 50 additional sets released after LOB,
this card being conceived and released now in 2014,
it is nothing more than an embarrassing joke.
Swordsman from a Distant Land is an effect monster
with simply laughable stats of 250 attack and 250
defense. It is also a level 1 monster, of the earth
attribute and warrior typing. If this card attacked
an opponent's monster, after damage calculation:
Destroy that monster during the 5th End Phase after
the attack.
To utilize this effect, you would most likely be
attacking in to a powerful monster with a much
higher attack value, meaning you would take a large
hit to your life points. Also, this effect will not
even activate if your opponent attacks Swordsman
from a Distant Land, so you must declare the attack
yourself. Lastly, the monster you attack with this
card will not be destroyed until the 5th end phase
after the attack. You did not read a typo, the card
really does state the 5th end phase. That means 3
more of YOUR turns must pass before the opponents
monster will be destroyed. In this game, even very
powerful boss monsters do not have much longevity to
stay on the field for several turns. The spot in
your deck to use this card is not at all worth the
life point damage you will take, resource loss, and
time you must wait to reap the benefit of this
monsters effect.
Warrior from a Distant Land is nothing but a
terrible, bland, lazy common filler that you will
open in about one of every 2-3 packs you buy of
Legacy of the Valiant. The only purpose this card
serves is to fill your booster pack with garbage so
that other more sought after powerful cards in the
set will retain substantial price and value. Steer
clear of using this monster at all costs. Never
consider it in advanced constructed format, let
alone traditional format. Under no circumstance
should it even be used in sealed or draft format,
should you happen to find him in one of your packs.
This card is best used as a drink coaster or fuel
for a fire.
Ratings:
Traditional: .1/5 (One of the worst monster cards
you could ever consider using in this format. It is
even worse than most of the vanilla monsters from
the first set, Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon)
Advanced: .2/5 (Again, don't bother with this card
in Advanced Format)
Mechanic Design: .1/5 (Bland, dull, and disturbingly
pathetic effect mechanic. This card is blatant
common set filler.)
Art: 2/5 (Not absolutely cringe worthy, but from the
awesome artwork we are accustomed to in this game,
it is not in anyway noteworthy. At best, could be
described as boring.)

Swordsman from a Distant Land
I'll do it Ex Minion of Darkness style and just
give a short diatribe on why this card is horrible.
This is an OLD card from 10 years ago, way back
in the day that never got released. It was awful
back then. It's even more awful today. Horrible ATK
power. Must declare an attack in order to activate
it's effect. By 5 End Phases, the targeted monster
is likely either dead or pummeling at your monsters
and life points to death. And, it is outclassed by
Newdoria in just about every single way.
Total garbage.
1/5 in both formats

Well you know who I am by now, so there's no reason
to introduce myself. However, being the refined
gentleman I am, I shall do so regardless. I am your
dear Terrorking, and I will be bludgeoning you with
the bat of enlightenment. This is my duty, and this
is my cross to bear, my dear guppies. Let us begin,
shall we?
The foreign land this Swordsman hails from is the
Garbage Dynasty. He is great friends with King
Garbage. There they have lots of garbage adventures.
What I am trying to say is: "This card is garbage."
I will now say it. This card is garbage. Back in the
old days of Yugioh, when effect monsters had just
come into existence, this card, and others like it
with their "5 turns later" effects were garbage. To
this day they remain garbage.
Garbage.
Art: Nice enough background; terribly-drawn samurai.
