Well the countdown is over, its a new year, and the
CotD carries on. Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile is a
rather unremarkable card. Its a Level 2 Synchro-Tuner
Monster, Fire attributed, of the Reptile breed with
800 attack and 1400 defense. The stats are bad but
that's not so bad as it helps the effect go off.
When sent from the Field to the Graveyard, all
Monsters your opponent controls lose 500 attack.
Easy to accomplish, not worth your time or
resources.

Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile
FIRE/Reptile/Synchro/Tuner/Level 2/800/1400
1 Tuner + 1 non-Tuner monster
When this card is sent from the field to the
Graveyard: All monsters your opponent currently
controls lose 500 ATK.
A new year and a new week of new cards, first off
is Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile, a new Synchro Tuner
monster.
With Formula Synchron currently Limited, this is
clearly designed to be a replacement for it, it is a
level 2 Synchro Tuner which requires 1 Tuner and 1
non-Tuner monster but despite being Limited Formula
Synchron is the superior card.
While it has better stats than Formula Synchron,
this lacks the thing that made Formula Synchron so
powerful, its speed. This has no draw effect or the
Synchro summon effect; instead it has an ATK
reducing effect. It does have some pros, it doesn’t
matter how it goes from the field to the graveyard
and the reduction is permanent, but 500 ATK is a bit
low and it only effect the monsters currently on the
field.
Overall, an alright Synchro Tuner and it is
designed as a replacement for Formula Synchron, but
this replacement is nowhere as good as the original.

Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile
Howdy there, sorry for not posting the rest of
the top 10 of 2013 work got really busy Christmas
time in a toy store, keeps you busy. Today's card
is, Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile, the new formula
synchron his effect isn't really that great but
truthfully I haven't seen much testing of this guy
since Formula Synchron is still preferred. I am not
sure if they ever will come out with any new Synchro
monsters like Quasar/Nova, but this helps the decks
out that bring em out to attempt another try if
Formula is gone.

Advanced: 2.5/5 (Potential is always nice, but not
always wanted)

Welcome back from the weekend everyone. We start
off the week late with Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile,
a level 2 Synchro monster from Shadow Specters.
This little fella, as you may have noticed, is
similar to a card that came before him, that being
of course Fomula Synchron. They have similar (low)
stats, but you should never have either on the field
long enough for that to matter. No, the only word on
either card that makes them what they are is "tuner"
right after the type. Both cards allow you to summon
the best of the best as far as high-level Synchro
monsters go, usually monstrosities such as Shooting
Star and Shooting Quasar Dragons.
So with both of these doing the same thing, which
should you use? Well, let's look at who's
restricted. Formula Synchron is at 1, and this
dinosaur is at 3. Formula Synchron lets you draw a
card when he's summoned, and this guy... Reduces the
attack of all your opponent's monsters by 500. Oh
boy!
Now me personally, I'd rather draw the card than
reduce my opponent's stats. First of all, you can't
even guarantee they're going to control anything. I
can always draw from my deck. Second, if you so
choose, Formula Synchron can perform his Synchro
Summon on your opponent's turn. I'd rather not, but
you never know. This guy doesn't give you that
option.
However, until Formula Synchron creeps back up
off the restricted list, I wouldn't turn this guy
down. I'd run Formula first, but this makes a good
second Level 2 Synchro Tuner if you want to use it.
If you're one of those people playing Lavals, I'd
give this guy a look. If you have a deck that can
"only somtimes" make something like Shooting Star,
if the planets are aligned, just keep your one
Formula. He's the better card, but this is a nice
substitute for a second copy.

Purails, the Purple Pyrotile
This little sucker has a lot going for him, and he
is a welcome addition to the level 2 synchro tuner
monsters we have at this time. He is a nice little
tech you can incorporate just to crush your opponent
that much more. Purails is a set up for much larger
monsters, he reminds me of Salacious Crumb from
Jabba's Palace in Star Wars, he won't ever get the
job done by himself, but he can be a helpful little
pest. Use him to get over your enemies while your
setting up your own finishing monster.
Formula Synchron is another option to be considered,
as it allows you to draw, but Puralis can help leave
your opponent vulnerable to attack over. Use it when
you want to add insult to injury, otherwise there
are more secure options available to you.
Ratings:
Traditional: 2/5
Advanced: 3/5(Better options exist, but Purails is a
sidekick, and he's a lot of fun)
Mechanic Design: 3/5 (Just a little flip of the bird
to your opponent essentially, pretty funny)

Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile
If I'm going to synchro summon into a 2 star
monster, I'm going for Formula Synchron. This COTD
generates no advantage and its effect only works if
it is sent to the graveyard which means that to
actually gain any use it must be sent to the
graveyard in one way or another. Then to top this
off its effect is very lackluster and it only has
800 attack.

Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile
Puralis is a LV2 Synchro which essentially only be
summoned with 2 LV1 monsters (one of them being a
tuner). The main competition it faces is Formula
Synchron which nets you a free draw and can be used
as a tuner itself. But even when you don't compare
this purple creature to better alternatives, it
still doesn't hold it's weight.
It's stats are very weak, and a 500 ATK decrease is
nothing big, especially if it doesn't even activate
immediately, but depends on it being removed from
the field. Since it affects multiple monsters, it
does best against swarms, yet why would I waste two
weak creatures on one weak creature when dealing
with a swarm? Sometimes, you can tribute it (but I
would rather have the remaining defense position LV1
monster for protection than this weak effect). If
you're waiting on it being destroyed, by then it's
way too late.
Had it's ATK been like 1500 and it's ATK decrease
effect been 1000, it would've been good. So, it had
the right idea - just poor stats. But as it stands,
I just don't see any merit to using this card. It's
garbage.

Hello, my dear guppies. I see you have once again
made the fabulous choice of reading my review, and
as your reward, you shall be granted the gift of
enlightenment.
Dragons, they breathe fire. Cool dragons breathe
fire: Alduin, Smaug, Deathwing, Red-Eyes Black
Dragon et cetera. This particular monster is so
awful that despite looking like one, he is not a
fire-breathing dragon. Yes, welcome to the review of
Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile. It's name just rolls
off the tongue, does it not? Alliteration, always
amusing.
This card is completely and utterly eclipsed by
Formula Synchron. What could have somewhat salvaged
this is if it had 200 DEF so you could at the very
least Rekindling it, but alas, it does not. Formula
Synchron gives you card advantage, while all this
does is take a measly 500 ATK from the opponent's
monsters. Hardly relevant.
This is usually where I tell you how to counter
this, but you won't need to because you'll never see
it.
