Madloche Anjelly opens this week, and the Madloches continue to be just adorable. But are they any good? A Level 4, Fairy type Monster, with 1000 attack and defense, isn't off to a good start. Furthermore, being Earth really hurts a Fairy. We like our Fairies to be Light. She does do a couple of nifty things though. When destroyed by your opponent, she is shuffled back into the Deck, so long as she was going to the Graveyard. Which I suppose is a good enough effect right? Secondly, you can Tribute this card to Special Summon a Madloche Monster from your Deck. That's a unique ability in itself. Said Monster, however, returns back to be shuffled into the Deck at the End Phase of your next turn. You can only use the effect once per turn also, so that's fair and balanced. Said Special Summoned Monster cannot be destroyed by Battle also. It assist in Special Summoning other things I suppose, but I'm still not seeing much of a point. It's a tricky Deck to use.

Madolche Anjelly
EARTH/Fairy/Effect/Level 4/1000/1000
When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. Another week of Primal Origin cards and we start off with Madolche Anjelly. Statwise Madolche Anjelly is an EARTH/Fairy; which is a strange combination with 1000 ATK and DEF both are poor for a level 4.

However due to Madolche Anjelly’s effect stats don’t matter. As well as the standard Madolche effect. Madolche Anjelly’s main effect allows you to tribute it in order to Special Summon any Madolche monster from your deck. Not only can it be any Madolche monster which makes this a really powerful effect but to make it even more powerful it can’t be destroyed by battle. Of course there is the thing that the monster will return to the deck during the End Phase of your next turn, but by then you will have used the monster for whatever reason you summoned it in the first place, so it doesn’t really matter. Of course you can only use this effect once per turn, no surprise there.

Overall a very good monster, poor stats but they mean nothing to a monster that can give you a indestructible monster for two turns.

One of the most sought after chase cards of the new Primal Origins booster set is undoubtedly Madolche Anjelly. The fact that this card is just an ultra rare has not stopped it from fetching one of the highest prices in the entire set. A large part of the reason this card is so expensive can be attributed to hype. But hype on good merit? Anjelly's effect is quite powerful, boosting consistency for the Madolche archetype considerably along with opening up powerful options and combos previously unavailable entirely.

The amount of combinations this card brings to the Madolche deck is quite impressive. The main combo will involve summoning Anjelly, tributing to search Hootcake, Hootcake's effect then can banish Anjelly from the grave, essentially allowing Anjelly to single-handedly search and set up Hootcake and its effect through a one card play. From Hootcake, you can special summon any Madolche monster from your deck, allowing you to summon another level 3 to overlay into any of your rank 3 xyz monster options such as M-X Saber Invoker or Leviair the Sea Dragon, among others.

Another incredibly powerful play requiring only Madolche Mewfeuille and Anjelly in hand can be executed as following: Normal summon Mewfeuille, use effect to special summon Anjelly. Tribute Anjelly, to special summon Hootcake from the deck. Use Hootcake effect to banish Anjelly, and then special Summon Madolche Messengelato from the deck. Use Messengelato's effect to add either Madolche Ticket or Chateau  (whichever you need at the time) to your hand and then activate it. Now overlay Hootcake with Mewfeuille to xyz summon Leviair. Use Leviair's effect to special summon Anjelly from the banished zone. Now overlay Anjelly and Messengelato for Madolche Queen Tiaramisu. Use her effect to recycle your Madolche cards in grave (if applicable, this part of the effect is not required), then return two of your opponents cards on the field to their deck without targeting them! This two card combo is a hard +3 resource advantage when executed in this manor, not even including the benefits of having a stronger field presence with Madolche Queen Tiaramisu and Leviair the Sea Dragon whom can both use their effects again next turn.

Madolche Anjelly is a monster with an extremely beneficial effect. Many would even consider Anjelly's effect to be over-powered when put in comparison to other archetypes monsters with searching or special summoning from deck options (or lack there of). However, although Anjelly is unarguably an extremely useful and essential monster for the Madolches, it hasn't been quite enough to propel them to Tier 1 within the meta, even though they have risen a few ranks. This is due in part to another card we will be reviewing at the end of this week, Number 103: Ragnazero, so stay tuned to find out why!

Ratings:

Traditional: 3.5/5
Advanced: 4.25/5
Mechanic Design: 2.5/5 (Arguably overpowered effect with essentially no cost to special summon any themed monster from the deck without restriction. Card design like this speeds up power creep.)
Art: 2.5/5 (I know some niche type of players will find this card art appealing. But even when in direct comparison to the Madolche Archetype alone, this artwork feels bland.)

Kingof
Lullaby

Hello Pojo Fans,

Starting off Monday we have one of the most hyped cards coming out of Primal Origin: Madolche Anjelly. This cutie has been sought after by the Madolche archtype. An Earth, Fairy-type, Level 4, 1000ATK/1000DEF, When destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle Anjelly into the Deck. You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Madolche" monster from your Deck, but shuffle it into the Deck during the End Phase of your next turn. You can only use this effect of "Madolche Anjelly" once per turn. That Special Summoned monster cannot be destroyed by battle.

This card is tremendous for the archtype, period. Able to be targeted by several cards run in the deck, Anjelly becomes broken with Chateau. Tribute her, Special Summon a Madolche monster from your Deck, return Anjelly to your hand. Throw Madolche Ticket into the mix and you can have an instant Madolche Queen Tiaramisu. Even if you aren't Xyz Summoning initially, the monster Special Summoned by Anjelly cannot be destroyed by battle, and won't return to the Deck until the End Phase of your next turn. Special Summoning capabilities, searchable, protection of Special Summoned monster, and ability to jump-start a strategy even when topdecked, this card is great. Its low stats don't even matter in this case, Madolche Anjelly is tremendous for the archtype, run it in threes.

Traditional-1/5 (Madolche- 5/5)
Advanced-2/5 (Madolche- 5/5)
Art-5/5- too darn cute!

Madolche Anjelly

Anjelly, an angel representing gelatin, is the lowest-calorie card of the Madolches and also one of the best cards they have at their disposal.

The #1 thing that every deck needs is consistency and Madolches have got this here.  For those who don't know, Madolches are a Disney-esque deck theme based around wealthy mansions, high living and most importantly dessert foods.

Practically speaking, their card Madolche Chateau (for those who don't know) returns Madolche monsters, that would otherwise be returned to the deck, back to the hand.  So basically, its really difficult to destroy Madolche monsters.  You can only fend them off until the next turn unless you destroy the Field Spell.

This card is granted with the standard Madolche effect of being able to return itself when destroyed.  Mixed with Chateau, you don't -1 when you lose this monster.  But usually, you'll be tributing this card to Special Summon another Madolche.  Yes, you can have any Madolche you want to use, right away.  So keep in mind the "drawback" of having to return your monster next turn is often not a serious one.  If anything, if you can play fast, you'll only need that monster for a turn or 2.  It only has 1000 ATK (1500 with Chateau) but you don't need to attack with this card any more than you do with Lonefire Blossom.  This card is meant for searching monsters, and it does that very well.

It works with the others really well.

Hootcake - Anjelly sends itself to the grave for Hootcake to banish

Messengelato - When Special Summoned by Anjelly, you +1 a Madolche Spell card

Puddingcess - This LV5 monster just got easier to summon.  No tributes needed.

Cruffsant - Bring him out for some XYZ combos

Mewfeuille - Can Special Summon Anjelly and search out the monster you would've wanted to summon from your hand anyway.

Oh, and this card is a LV4 for Tiaramisu.

All in all, amazing card for a deck that needed a bump.

Obviously this card is for pure Madolche decks only.  But for those who run Madolches, it is mandatory to own 3 copies of this card.

Hello, beauties, today I come to you from the candy kingdom. No, not the cool one in Adventure Time, but a candy kingdom filled with 2000+ ATK monsters that swarm onto your field and maul you.

Today we look at Madolche Anjelly. She is a questionably-designed card, and the main reason Madolche has been performing as well as it is. This card was made for one purpose, and one purpose only, to be used for Hootcake. There's no other reason she tributes herself other than so you can have a Madolche in the Graveyard for it. Let's look at a little combo with her:

Madolche Anjelly ---> Madolche Hootcake ---> Madolche Messengelato

That's the opening move every Madolche player will go for, and it only requires them drawing Anjelly. That's a strong first turn play that usually leaves them with 4100 ATK on the board. Now the ideal combo is something like:

Summon Madolche Mewfeuille--->Summon Madolche Anjelly--->Summon Madolche Hootcake--->Summon Madolche Messengelato--->Summon M-X Saber Invoker--->Summon a second Madolche Messengelato--->Xyz the Madolche Tiaramisu by using the two Messengelato (optional)

That combo only requires you open Mew and Anjelly, or have them in your hand at any given time, which isn't hard to do since Madolche has so much search power. I could go on giving you combos, but you should already get the point that Anjelly is absurdly powerful and should be a three-off in any Madolche deck. Use it. Use it well.

Traditional: 1.5/5
Advanced: 4/5
Art: 1/5. Very tempted to give a 0 here. Look at her feet. Look at her face. Bad. Bad art.
