Paladin

Happy 4th of July everyone!!  Remember to have a good time and be safe!  ~This public service announcement brought to you by Dark Paladin

Sylvan Princessprout is a very simple Monster at a glance.  Plant, Light (very good), Level 1, with 100 attack and defense, but a couple of effects.  First, you can Tribute this card to excavate the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard (which is a key theme in the Deck as you know) and you're also able to add a Sprout Monster to the top of your Deck.  Secondly, if Princessprout herself is excavated from the Deck and sent to the Graveyard via card effect, you can select a Level from 1 to 8.  This card is then Special Summoned and becomes the chosen Level.  There's your Money effect, and the effect stops this card from being used and abused outside of the theme.  I like her, a lot.  Easily the best card this week.

Wrapping up this week we have something that doesn’t have to do with Monarchs, another new Sylvan monster; Sylvan Princessprout.

Statwise there isn’t much to say, it is a LIGHT/Plant like a couple of Sylvans with 100 ATK and DEF not really surprising given it is a level 1 monster.

Effectwise it has to but you can only each effect once per turn. The first effect allows you to excavate the top card of your deck and send it to the grave and then place a “sprout” monster from your graveyard back to the top of your deck. First off tributing a monster in order to send the top card of your deck to the grave is a really bad trade off. The second part would be better if there were more sprout cards to use this with so far there is this and Sylvan Cherubsprout. So it isn’t a great effect but it might get better if more “sprout” monsters appear.

The second effect allows you to special summon this card and change its level if it is excavated. This is a much better effect as it allows you to use this card for Synchro or Xyz summoning or if you want you can activate the first effect. Though changes are you will want this to be level 7 so you can Xyz summon Orea, the Sylvan High Arbiter.

Overall not the greatest Sylvan and its second effect is so far the more useful, but it could change if more sprout cards turn up.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Happy Friday everyone. Sylvan Princessprout is the Xyz-specialized monster for Sylvans. She can only excavate a card off the top of the Deck if she tributes herself, that's not good. If you run Sylvan Cherubsprout in the deck you can put it on the Graveyard after you tribute Princessprout. Princessprout is a monster you want excavated. You call a level, Princessprout will become that level and return to the field. Call the level of a monster you have on the field and immediately Xyz Summon something. She can be Special Summoned from the deck with One For One and Lonefire Blossom, but likely you will be finding ways to put her on top of your Deck to excavate her.

Sylvan Princessprout

The first effect of this card is inferior to the second but its still decent. It nabs you another excavation off of Soul Charge and the like. And it gives you another Princessprout to play with but it also has a fair once per turn restriction to prevent looping.

The real star of the show is that second effect that happens when it is excavated. While I control Hermitree, I can Special Summon this card as a LV8 monster to combine them both into Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand. While I control Sagequoia, I can Special Summon this card as a LV7 monster to combine them both into Mecha Phantom Beast Draccosack.

Either of the two will waste your opponent's resources and you let you beat them down into an attritioned pulp but the two XYZ monsters together, especially with the help of Princessprout, is just plain nasty and insanely powerful. Basically, you get an XYZ with only 1 material. This card is a +1 (in context of Sylvans of course).

I use 2 of her in my Sylvans. Since this is a card better in the graveyard and deck than in the hand, I am cautious on using 3, but right now I find 2 to be ideal.

Overall, great card and must-have for Sylvans.

Terrorking

Finally we escape the three days of anti-meta. Rejoice, my youngins. Today we go back to the general debauchery that is Yu-Gi-Oh card design!

Hello and welcome to my, Terrorking's, review of another Sylvan monster. This time, it is Sylvan Princessprout. Oh look, Sylvans got a themed Copy Plant that is somewhat worse! Or rather, more constricting. This card can be used with cards that support Sylvans specifically, AND recovers your other "sprout" monsters (namely, Cherubsprout or another copy of this) when you tribute it via its effect. Further, when excavated this Special summons itself and changes its level from 1-8. What that means, my dear guppy, is it's tool for an instant Xyz summon. Copy Plant, on the other hand, does the same thing but is also a Tuner, which gives you access to a far broader range of monsters.

Copy Plant, that doesn't summon itself and doesn't work with themed Sylvan support, or Princessprout that doesn't give you access to Hot Red Dragon Archfiend, Stardust Spark Dragon etc.? Pick your poison.
