Cyber Dragon Core isn't very remarkable. We continue to be a Light attributed Machine, this time Level 2 with an abysmal 400 attack and 1500 defense. When Normal Summoned (still not liking you have to Normal Summon to get effects) you can add a Cyber Magic/Trap card from your Deck to your Hand. Furthermore, you can remove this card from play to Special Summon a Cyber Dragon Monster from your Deck. If there were a reason to play this card, I guess that would be it, but since this guy is treated as Cyber Dragon on the Field or Graveyard (again I assume to help with Cyber Dragon Fusions) there may not be room for this guy.

Next up on our Cyber Week is Cyber Dragon Core, one of the new Cyber monsters from the Cyber Dragon Revolution Structure Deck. Statwise it is a LIGHT/Machine, which is good, 400 ATK, well it is a level 2 and 1500 DEF which is actually good for a level 2.

Effect wise it has two effects but you can only use 1 of these effects per turn. The first effect allows to to search your deck for a Cyber Spell/Trap and add it to your hand when this card is normal summoned. Searching for a Spell/Trap card is a good effect, the only problem is there isn’t that many cards to choose from.

The second effect is better, by banishing this card which you have no monsters and the opponent does, you get to special summon a Cyber Dragon from your deck. This is a good effect, Special summoning a monster is always good, even better if it is a good monster to begin with. Also it counts as Cyber Dragon when on the field or the Graveyard which helps its possibility.

Overall, a very good support for Cyber Dragon decks.

Cyberplum

Today's review covers yet another new addition to the Cyber Dragon archetype, that being Cyber Dragon Core.

Core, in my opinion, is the best of the new Cydra cards.  It adds the new cyber support cards to your hand when summoned, and when in the grave, allows you to summon one Cyber Dragon monster from your deck (not necessarily a real Cyber Dragon).  These are both lovely effects, though not both usable in the same turn.  You can't control a monster when you use the second effect, but that's how most of the Cyber Dragon summons work traditionally, so that's not a big deal.  He also sets himself up to work with the new trap card when he uses this effect.

Really, the stats are the only downfall of the card.  400 attack is awful, really leaving you vulnerable to an ass-whooping from an opposing monster.  But wait.  Does anyone remember what happened the last time Card Trooper was at 3?  That's right folks, we Machine Duped it.  And because he's a Cyber Dragon on the field, that's exactly what you get when you dupe this: Two real Cyber Dragons.  This instantly sets you up to Power Bond into a game-winning Cyber Twin or Cyber End Dragon, slaughtering any opposing monsters with ease and dealing massive damage, probably for game.

The diversity this card offers is why I feel it's the best of the new cards.  He can loop with Cyber Support Plant, and in the future, can add Cybernetic Fusion Support to your hand, which will allow you to utilize the monsters in your grave for a fusion summon, giving you even more options.  Definitely run three if you run a Cyber Dragon deck.

Cyber Dragon Core

Core is quite essential to the Cyber deck. The search on-summon makes it, at the very least, a 1-for-1 that adds speed to the deck and the ability to summon a free Cyber Dragon from your deck is immensely helpful. Being able to imitate the real Cyber Dragon helps as well. It's stats are weak, but YGO isn't a basic-beatdown game anymore. You use really weak monsters with useful effects to gather enough resources so you can summon large monsters. And this card does that quite well.

Use 3 in a dedicated Cyber Dragon deck.

Traditional – 2.5 (Okay)
Advanced – 4.0 (Great)

Terrorking

I promise you, dear guppies, that today I shall review the single best card in the Cyber Dragon Structure deck.

...

Look at Cyber Dragon Core. Look at it and laugh. It looks so silly. Now, mechanically (because it's a Machine, understand?) its chief feature is having 400 ATK. Wait, that's a bit disingenuous. No, its chief features are being Machine, treating itself as Cyber Dragon and having 400 ATK. What this means is you summon this, play Machine Duplication and then summon 2 Cyber Dragons straight from the deck. That play is insanely good, as it gives you a way to summon Nova off of just one spell or you could Power Bond/Polymerization out Cyber End Dragon or Cyber Twin Dragon and win right there, or summon Cyber Eltanin, or make Chimeratech Fortress Dragon or just attack. Many options because this young'in exists.

Its own effect is a good two too, I guess. When you normal Summon it it becomes an Elemental HERO Stratos for "Cyber" spell/trap cards (GRAB YOUR CYBERDARK IMPACT!!), which means you can search one out of your deck and add it to your hand. If this happens to be in your Graveyard and you have no monsters while your opponent does, you can banish it to summon a Cyber Dragon straight out of the deck.
