Hello Pojo Fans,

Sylvans are back for a day with Sylvan Flowerknight. An Earth, Plant-Type, Level 4 with 1800ATK/1000DEF, when Flowerknight is Normal Summoned: You can excavate the top card of your Deck, and if it is a Plant-Type monster, send it to the Graveyard. Otherwise, place it on the bottom of your Deck. If this card is excavated from the Deck and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can choose 1 "Sylvan" card from your Deck and place it on top of your Deck.

Flowerknight does what most Sylvan monsters do: excavate a card(s), and, if it's a Plant-Type, it hits the Graveyard. If Flowerknight is excavated from the top of the Deck to the grave, you can choose a Sylvan monster in your Deck and place it on top of your Deck, setting up another Sylvan excavation effect. Flowerknight has the Earth and Plant support behind it, can be searched and Special Summoned easily, and can hold its own.

It's effect only happens when it is Normal Summoned. If you don't hit a Plant-Type, you are out of luck. Excavating Flowerknight from the top of the Deck to the Graveyard allows you to set up a situation where you will plus off your Sylvan effect, but having to wait doesn't give you an advantage (If Mount Sylvania is on the field it can excavate the card you put on top of your Deck during your opponents End Phase, if Mount Sylvania survives until then).

Sylvan Flowerknight

This meets your expectations of what a typical Sylvan card is, in the most boring way possible.  It's a decent beater and it excavates Sylvans.  Not bad, but mundane.  A standard card.  While it can help you set up combos, it's also not a plus one in and of itself.  However, in YGO, synergy and consistency are both important.  And this card meets that mark with flying colors.  When better Sylvan cards come out, there will be more interesting monsters to run than flowerking, but nonetheless, as it stands, it's still quite helpful for Sylvan decks.

Traditional: 2.0 (Mediocre)
Advanced: 3.5 (Very Good)

Terrorking

Ah, my dears. In light of me missing the review yesterday, I shall get straight to the point for this week's.

Sylvan Flowerknight shows that flower power and when he allows you to reap a fellow plant from the top of your deck, and in the event he is discovered, you get to plant a seed. Now, for those who do not speak in plant puns, what he does is act as a consistency tool for a deck that doesn't have a very "consistency-focused" gimmick. On the mere act of a normal summon, he excavates a card and if it is a plant it goes to the Grave. Now, most Sylvans (and plants in general) want to be in the Graveyard, so this is good. When you excavate him, he stacks your deck by putting a Sylvan on top of it to be excavated by another Sylvan or simply drawn. Absolutely pivotal card for your Sylvan deck.

Advanced: 3/5
Traditional: 1/5
Art: 1/5. Having a bunch of flowers on your clothing and weaponry does not convey well that you are supposed to be at one with the forest.
