Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force
- #LVAL-EN059 Target the 1 Xyz Monster you control with the highest Rank (your choice, if tied); Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 monster with the same Type and Attribute as that monster you control but 2 Ranks higher, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials on the Summoned monster.) During your Draw Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard, instead of conducting your normal draw: You can add this card from your Graveyard to your hand. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this effect, except by the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force".

Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force has a lot of text on
it, no? In short, this card isn't very good. So
I'm not going into much detail. IF you really
REALLY need to get that Rank-Up Monster out, use
this I guess, but you can't Special Summon anything
else, and it's a big waste of an XYZ Monster if not
successful, and this also is a -1. It's just a big
cost, not enough advantage, if any, and not very
good folks. Have a good weekend

Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force
Normal Spell
Target the 1 Xyz Monster you control with the
highest Rank (your choice, if tied); Special Summon
from your Extra Deck, 1 monster with the same Type
and Attribute as that monster you control but 2
Ranks higher, by using it as the Xyz Material. (This
Special Summon is treated as an Xyz Summon. Xyz
Materials attached to it also become Xyz Materials
on the Summoned monster.) During your Draw Phase, if
this card is in your Graveyard, instead of
conducting your normal draw: You can add this card
from your Graveyard to your hand. You cannot Special
Summon during the turn you activate this effect,
except by the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic Astral
Force".
To wrap things up we have another Rank-Up-Magic
card, Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force. To be honest
this isn’t a great Rank-Up card. It has too many
conditions. First off, you can only Rank-Up the
highest Ranked Xyz monster you control, which is
really bad if you are playing a lot of Xyz monsters.
Then it has to be 2 Ranks higher but still has to be
the same Type AND Attribute of the targeted monster.
This has a second effect, which allows you to get
this card back from the Graveyard instead of having
your Normal Draw but you cannot Special Summon
except by using "Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force". So
unless you have an Xyz monster you can Rank-up with
this card, this effect is really bad and just
another condition this card doesn’t need..
Overall, too many conditions to do very little that
other Rank-Up cards could do just the same.

Happy Friday everyone, and what
a Friday this is. Two weeks of training ended
early, so I get to bring you this exciting end of
week review on Rank up Magic: Astral Force, an
exciting new rank-up card from Legacy of the
Valiant.
Sadly I wish "exciting" was the right adjective for
this card. Numeron's force negates everything on
the field when you use it and gives you a fairly
powerful monster in most cases. Barian's Force
gives you the monster, and can help soak up some of
the opposing XYZ materials. Limited Rank-Up works
only with rank 4 monsters, but is very easy to use.
So what about this new one? Well for starters, you
jump two levels instead of one. You also have to
remain in the same attribute AND type of monster.
That right there severely restricts the number of
combos you have available to you. And of course,
anything that places heavy restrictions on you with
either A), make the card unplayable, or B), require
a specific deck to play it. You can use it twice to
go from something like a rank 4 to 6 to 8 by giving
up your draw phase, but that would be a pretty crazy
combo to bother with.
That being said, is it worth your time? Well, I can
use a Numeron's Force to bring out C101 or C104 with
ease, negating all other face-up effects AND giving
you one nasty monster for your opponent to deal
with. Barian's Force is less preferred, but does
help deal with the opponent's XYZ monsters. Limited
Magic, again, only works with rank 4 monsters, but
can put some of the weird Rank 5 monsters on the
field, like C69 or the upcoming C106, which you're
not going to summon any other way.
Basically, due to the fact you have to jump two
levels, stay in the same attribute and type, AND
there are not many combinations to use, I'd have to
say pass on this. It could work in a deck made to
work with it, but that deck would only be as good as
the monsters you end up summoning in the end, and
frankly, I feel there are faster ways to summon
those monsters. Stick to Numeron's Force for your
rank-up needs.

Art: 4.5/5, I will say it looks cool
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force
Maybe it's this generation's Monster Reborn.
Maybe it'll be a pretty fad. It still remains a sexy
Ultra Rare with lots of potential. I couldn't tell
you the possible combos you could do with this, or
the ones you could do it with in the future, due to
my own ignorance, but I can tell you that it has
huge potential. Heck, you can even use 2 of these to
turn a Rank-4 into a Rank-8 if the opportunity
arises.
The fact that you can add it to your hand
(instead of draw) whenever you want, helps this card
stay consistent. There's no real downside to this
card either. Not being able to Special Summon
(outside of this card's effect) is a fair clause,
and you can't get too angry at a card that gives you
a powerful XYZ with materials so easily.
Will this card be useful to most decks? No. But
there are decks out there that can (or will) greatly
benefit from this card.

Did you notice I did no "how to counter X"
section this week? Well that's because the cards I
reviewed were all hilariously simple in their
application. Today's card, however, can be used in a
myriad of ways to summon a myriad of monsters.
Hello and welcome to Terrorking's review of
Rank-Up Magic: Astral Force. Another of those awful
RUM cards from that equally so anime, Yu-Gi-Oh ZeXal.
This card has an interesting design (when compared
to the other RUMs, that is) in that you can choose
to forgo your draw for the turn, in exchange for a
powerful game-ending monster. It's a card that's
always there, but is fairly restrictive in what it
can summon. Apart from that, it also stops you from
Special Summoning monsters other than those summoned
by its effect, so if you have three Xyz monsters and
3 Astral Forces (in your hand or Graveyard) you
could potentially summon 3 game-winning monsters
(I'm not saying that's a good deck-building decision
or even a good play, just that the option exists,
dearest guppy).
Countering RUM: A: Your opponent is using CXyz,
so a well-placed BTH will most likely win you the
game.
