Legendary Knight Timaeus is legendary in name
only. But let's look at the good first. Light and
Warrior are very good, Level 8 is good, 2800 attack
is good also. 1800 defense is meh, but restrictive
Summoning isn't good at all. This card can ONLY be
Special Summoned (not Normal Summoned or Set or
Special Summoned in other ways) with Legend of
Heart. We didn't even get the other two Legendary
Dragons or there respective Knights, but I suppose
that's irrelevant. Legend of Heart makes you pay
2000 Lifepoints and give up a Warrior to bring out
this Knight (I suppose all three if you had all the
necessary pieces). This Knight doesn't do much, of
course greatly toned down from his cartoon
counterpart. When Special Summoned, he lets you
remove a face-up Magic or Trap card from play, and
set a Magic card from your Graveyard to the Field.
Oh but you only get the Magic card when you're
targeted for an attack. This is all but garbage
folks, unless the others work better or they do some
broken stuff as a team. Hold on to it I guess

Legendary Knight Timaeus
LIGHT/Warrior/Effect/Level 8/2800/1800
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special
Summoned with "Legend of Heart", and cannot be
Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is
Special Summoned: You can target 1 face-up
Spell/Trap Card on the field; banish that target.
When this card is targeted for an attack: You can
target 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard; Set that
target.
We are looking at some Timaeus cards this week
and we start off with Timaeus’s true form; Legendary
Knight Timaeus.
Statwise, Timaeus is a LIGHT/Warrior which is
good with 2800 ATK; which is good for a level 8 and
1800 DEF which isn’t very good
Effectwise Legendary Knight Timaeus can only be
summoned by the effect of Legend of Heart (see later
in the week), this is never a good thing and given
the cost of Legend of Heart, this card already isn’t
worth it. Still when it is Special Summoned you can
target and banish 1 face up Spell/Trap card. This
isn’t great either, banishing is good, but it has to
be face-up, therefore limiting it to continuous
cards and fields.
Finally if this card is an attack target, you can
target and set 1 Spell card from your graveyard.
Getting spell cards back is good, but that card
isn’t going to help save this monster. Also that
spell card is useless for that turn, making still
vulnerable to the opponent’s cards.
Overall, this isn’t worth the high cost that will
be involved in summoning this monster. None of
effects or stats are massive, in fact the effects
are quite weak and not worth it.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Continuing with the Dragons of Legend set, we're
looking at the first (and only one to appear in the
set) Legendary Knight: Legendary Knight Timaeus. A
Light, Level 8, Warrior-Type monster with
2800ATK/1800DEF, Timaeus can't be Normal
Summoned/Set. He has to be Special Summoned with
"Legend of Heart", and cannot be Special Summoned by
other ways. When he is Special Summoned: You can
target 1 face-up Spell/Trap Card on the field;
banish that target. When this card is targeted for
an attack: You can target 1 Spell Card in your
Graveyard; Set that target.
Light monster, good, warrior, good, level 8,
good, all that adds up to a vast amount of support
and cards that will allow you to either pull this
monster from or back from any location in the game.
That being said, Legendary Knight Timaeus can ONLY
be Special Summoned by using “Legend of Heart” (a
card we will be reviewing this week). Once Special
Summoned, Timaeus can target a face-up spell/trap on
the field and banish it. The banish part of this
effect helps avoid cards that gain additional
effects when they are destroyed and sent to the
Graveyard, or cards that have protection abilities
against destruction. If there aren't any face-up
spell/trap card to target then that effect is
useless. If Timaeus is selected as an attack target,
you can target a spell from the Graveyard and set
that card. Recycling spell cards can help setup your
next move, or help defend your monsters that turn in
the case of Shrink and Book of Moon. Getting a reuse
of a spell card even once is good.
At the moment, Legendary Knight Timaeus isn't
worth playing. In the future, when the other two
Legendary Knights are released, Timaeus and the
others will be in their own deck and perhaps be very
useful.

Legendary
Knight Timaeus
Cool card for
collectors to have as a decorative piece. But as a
card itself it's not good. If you don't have an
affinity for the anime, avoid this card.
The summon
restriction (requiring Legend of Heart) reduces its
versatility. It's on-summon effect that kills a
face-up Spell/Trap is good the majority of the time.
But there are so many other better spell/trap
removal options that are faster and easier to
activate.
It's second effect
that allows you to set a spell is interesting. Big
problem. It needs to be attacked. On top of having
to wait to get your spell, why would your opponent
attack it when they can just remove it. It's
succeptible to Dark Hole, Mirror Force, et al.
No one with an IQ
above 55 would attack this card. So why make it's
best effect contingent on that. You could use cards
like Taunt and Staunch Defender, but why clog up
your deck with situational cards even more.
As far as I am
concerned, it's mostly just a 2800 beater. A
situational one, too.
Traditional:
1/5 (no, not happening. Ever.)
Advanced:
1.5/5 (it some plus sides, but is way too slow)
Art: 4/5 (not innovative but still cute,
quality, yugioh-esque artwork.)

Terrorking |
Hello my googly-eyed misfits, and welcome to yet
another installment of "Terrorking makes you wiser."
For the uninitiated, that means welcome to another
review of mine. Indeedly doodly. Today's card is
Legendary Knight Timaeus. Let us get started.
"Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special
Summoned with "Legend of Heart", and cannot be
Special Summoned by other ways."
Uh-oh. That's not good. See, for the past 6 or so
years Konami has sort of realized that monsters that
can only be summoned in one specific situation
aren't very good, so we get Graphas, Machina
Fortresses and so on. This is a massive negative
already.
"When this card is Special Summoned: You can
target 1 face-up Spell/Trap Card on the field;
banish that target."
Backrow removal is good. Backrow removal on a
monster this big is pretty underwhelming, especially
since it's an enter the battlefield effect. Effect
is too weak, so another negative.
"When this card is targeted for an attack: You
can target 1 Spell Card in your Graveyard; Set that
target."
First of all, this card has 2800 ATK. Not many
monsters will be attacking it. Rather, Number 101
and a myriad of other Xyz monsters don't need to
enter the battle phase to get rid of this guy.
Another bad effect.
All things considered, Timaeus is not a good card
by any stretch of the imagination.
