Paladin

The Eye of Timaeus is even worse than yesterday. As referenced yesterday, if we get all three Dragons over time (hopefully in a time they might hope to have some form of relevance) and get to do cool stuff in combination with each other, maybe it'll be better. In the now, it's a super specific Polymerization, and will be nothing but a dead Draw 98% of the time, if not more. This is as straightforward as possible. If you're using the cards necessary to force you to use this, you use it.

The Eye of Timaeus
Normal Spell
(This card is also always treated as "Legendary Dragon Timaeus".)

Continuing our look at Timaeus cards we have The Eye of Timaeus. The Eye of Timaeus was a big card in the Waking the Dragons Arc of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime and finally it has been released.

Of course the Eye of Timaeus now only works with Dark Magician monsters and only those which are listed as fusion material. The benefit of this card is that it allows you to Fusion Summon a monster using only 1 Material, however the scope of this card is ridiculously low. There are only two targets that this will work with and only 4 Fusion Monsters it can summon. No matter what way you look at it that isn’t good.

Overall, unless you are playing a really dedicated “Dark Magician” deck, you might as well leave it in the binder.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Today we're reviewing The Eye of Timaeus, the Spell Card version of yesterday's CoTD. A Normal Spell Card, you can only activate 1 “The Eye of Timaeus” per turn. This card is treated as "Legendary Dragon Timaeus". You can target 1 "Dark Magician" monster you control; Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck that lists that monster on the field as a Fusion Material Monster, using it as the Fusion Material.

A substitution for Polymerization or Dragon's Mirror without the need for two or more monsters needed for the Fusion Summon is a positive. Elemental Hero Prisma or Phantom of Chaos can become “Dark Magician” or “Dark Magician Girl” and be combo'd with The Eye of Timaeus. This card is for a deck revolving around summoning fusion monsters that revolve around Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. This is a card for a fun deck, and though useful, is not applicable outside the fun deck.

Today we tackle the big daddy dragon everyone's wanted for about ten years. Prepare to be absolutely blow away, my squelching guppies. Blown away by my review, I mean, since the card is total junk. Ha.

Dark Magician is not a good card. Dark Magician Girl is not a good card. This card that uses them is not a good card. This card has the audacity to only work on a "Dark Magician" monster that's on the field. I mean, you could use Elemental HERO Prisma, but you're still stuck running 2 or 3 Dark Magicians to make such a strategy work. It can summon Dark Paladin, but is it really worth it? I think not.

The card we have here is a mockery of what it did in the anime and is downright insulting to any player that wanted this. This card is contempt for fans of the show. Utter garbage that isn't in the spirit of what it did there. If this only worked for Dark Magicians, why did Yugi try fusing it with Weevil's/Insector's Poison Butterfly? Going the spell card route was smart, but making it so limited was anything but.
