Paladin

Here's a mouthful, Construction Train Signal Red, is our card today. This must have been a Syrus card, and as such, would only really be appropriate in a Roids Deck, despite this not being a Roid, but still being a Machine. It's Level 3, Earth, Machine, with a paltry 1000 attack and 1300 defense, but can be Special Summoned from your Hand (in attack or defense position) when your opponent declares an attack. Plus he can't be destroyed by that Battle. So he can save you from one attack, technically two I suppose, but he's not very useful. Sad when even the cards that have nifty tricks aren't worth playing.

Construction Train Signal Red
EARTH/Machine/Effect/Level 3/1000/1300
When your opponent's monster declares an attack: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, change the attack target to this card and proceed to damage calculation. This card cannot be destroyed by that battle.

Continuing our look at Dragons of Legend we have Construction Train Signal Red a card used by Anna in ZeXal. Statwise it’s an EARTH/Machine which is solid with 1000 ATK and DEF which is nothing remarkable for a level 3.

Effectwise Construction Train Signal Red joins the likes of Battle Fader, Gagaga Gardna and others in “the monster that is Special Summoned when you are attacked” club. If it is special summoned that way, to becomes the new target and you go straight to damage calculation. Also for that 1 battle it cannot be destroyed by battle. All the effects are nice but there are so many of these cards out there than Construction Train Signal Red doesn’t really do anything different and many do things better. Battle Fader can end the Battle Phase immediately and ones like Gagaga Gardna have protection and better stats.

Overall, a pretty average card, it doesn’t bring anything really new or special to the table.

Baneful

Construction Train Signal Red

Some will prefer Swift Iron Scarecrow for the fact that it's protection can't be countered or Gorz for the risk-reward nature, but CTSR beats out Battle Fader for sure and offers competition amongst the defensive handtraps.

1. It doesn't require a direct attack.  Any attack will trigger it.

2. It's not destroyed in battle.  It can be a wall against an entire swarm.

3. It's not banished when destroyed, like Battle Fader, and can be every bit as much a tribute

4. You can re-direct attacks and essentially protect any monster you control.

5. Special summoning opens up possibilities with XYZ's and more

Overall, it's for decks that want an easy tribute or that want to protect their monsters.  If you protect one monster you control and summon this one, you get 2 tributes for LADD or whichever you choose.  So, it has potential.  Some may find it a bit slow, but it will slow down your opponent at least.  You will need other cards to net an advantage off this though.  Like a tribute monster or other XYZ material, or an aggro combo waiting to happen.  Take it for what it's worth.  It's a good (not great though) card.

Terrorking

You ever hear that expression "It's awful, but I can't help looking, like a train wreck"? Obviously you haven't since I just made it up, I think. The point is trains. And things being awful. And trains being awful. Yes...

Hello, my dear hoppity skippers, and welcome to TerrorKing's review of a train card: Construction Train Signal Red. It's not a very good card. Move on with your life. Level isn't high enough to be used consistently for Machina Fortress, it isn't Level 10, it has over 500 ATK despite being a Machine, not having 1500 or more ATK despite being a Machine (3000 ATK with Limiter Removal) and is a worse Battle Fader/many other cards here with similar effects to Battle Fader. Don't. Don't use this. This card isn't a train wreck since generally you can't help but looking at trains crash; it's an exciting prospect. This is like looking at a regular train running along the tracks on a normal day: so common you don't even notice it. This card is such a train. Choo choo.
