This card is the
heart and core of the Qliphort deck. Without
this card successfully activating, the deck becomes
inconsistent and completely falls apart. Every
Qliphort deck NEEDS 3 of this card. If you
don't have 3 Scout, don't run Qliphorts at all.
What this card enables you to do is Pendulum Summon
without resource cost, unlike most of the other
Pendulums out there. The life point cost is
very minimal compared to the things this card will
enable you to do. When you first use the
search effect of this card, it immediately pays for
itself but then you can subsequently use it every
turn to start plussing.
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon can also search Tool but I
find it a bit slow for my tastes compared to the
other options I mentioned above. Performopal
Trampolynx can also be used to return Scout to the
hand so you can activate the search effect again.
I personally run 3 Summoner's Art, 3 Pot of Duality,
and 3 Upstart Goblin in a Qliphort deck to ensure I
get Scout turn one.
It's vital.

Qliphort Scout
This is probably the most powerful card in the
advanced format to date. The ability to search any
card for your combo and perform a turn 2-4 one turn
kill is ridiculous. This card has 6 ways to be
searched in addition to the search functions it
gives. Qliphort have very few answers in the current
format due to there protection clause as well. I
look forward to the continued terror Qliphorts bring
to the game in the coming months because of this
card.

Qliphort Scout
Here comes the onslaught of the “Clip-arts”…
The first thing that actually makes Qliphort Scout
so good (apart from it’s obviously awesome effect)
is that it can be searched out from your Deck so
easily, thus meaning that even if your opponent gets
rid of one a second and possibly even a third are
already on their way towards being brought out as a
replacement. Likely candidates to search out
Qliphort Scout are Summoner’s Art, Saqlifice and
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. Furthermore it can also be
recovered by using Rescue Hamster. And if all of
that “Horror” wasn’t enough for you to get your mind
around, it can even be “Bounced” and reused if you
play Performapal Trampolynx (which IMO you should),
just in case you need a further searching and
consistency boost!
When Qliphort Scout is in your Pendulum Zone you can
for the mere cost of 800 of your Lifepoints add 1 “Qli”
(Qliphort) card from your Deck to your hand. This
means that you can either set yourself up to be able
to add another Qliphort Scout from your Deck to your
hand as soon as possible by adding Saqlifice to your
hand or you can add the other side of your Pendulum
Scale, thus allowing for easy Pendulum Summoning
straight away.
While this is a once per turn effect if you play the
above mentioned Performapal Trampolynx you will get
the opportunity to be able to use the effect of
Qliphort Scout twice in the same turn, essentially
adding in a “Turbo” aspect.
The only downside to Qliphort Scout is that you
cannot Special Summon monsters other than “Qli’s,”
again though, this is where Performapal Trampolynx
can come in so useful since by “Bounching’ Qliphort
Scout you avoid this otherwise negative effect.
This is an absolute STAPLE card for Qliphort’s, the
ONLY reason you could possibly have to not play the
maximum 3 that you are allowed would be that you
don’t have 3!
Traditional: 3.75 Even here I feel that Qliphort’s
may be able to make quite the impact.
Advanced: 4.25. This is the KEY card to the Deck, my
score here reflects it’s absolute importance…
Stopping this card is KEY if you are playing against
Qliphort’s!

Qliphort Scout
We continue looking at The New Challengers and we
start of this week we look at a card from the new
Qli archetype; Qliphort Scout
Statwise, Qliphort Scout is an EARTH/Machine which
is good, with 1000 ATK and 2800 DEF, quite standard
for a high level monster with high DEF. It has a
Pendulum Scale of 9, which is excellent and allows
you to Pendulum Summon nearly all Qli monsters.
Effectwise it only has a Pendulum Effect; First off
you can only Special Summon “Qli” monsters and this
can’t be negated. So immediately this card is only
useful in a Qli deck. Also once per trun you can pay
800 LP to add any !Qli” card barring another Scout
to your hand. 800 LPs is a reasonable cost to search
for any Qli card and be able to use it each turn.
This makes this card very useful as it is the
archetype’s main searcher and summoner.
Overall the backbone of the Qli archetype, if you
are playing Qlis make sure you are using this card.
Other decks just ignore it.

Hello Pojo Fans,
One of the new “Qli” monsters starts off this week
at Pojo CoTD. Qliphort Scout is a Pendulum Monster
that, with its effect and scale number, is
particularly useful for its archetype. With a scale
of 9, monsters levels 8 and below are able to be
Pendulum Summoned as long as you complete the scale
on the other side (among those with a scale of 1 is
Qliphort Carrier). What makes Qliphort Scout
necessary for the deck is that it starts the combos
for the “Qli” archetype with its effect. Though you
can't Special Summon monsters, except "Qli"
monsters, you can pay 800 Life Points per turn to
add 1 "Qli" card from your Deck to your hand, except
"Qliphort Scout". A monster that each turn can
search out any monster within the archetype for
1/10th of your Life Points is a great effect.
Combine that with the fact that all “Qli” monsters
are below level 9 (and all having 2400ATK or above
aside from this card) means whichever monster you
search is likely getting Pendulum Summoned that
turn.
Outside the decktype is doesn't really have a place
aside from if you are trying to Pendulum Summon
level 8 monsters. It's a Normal Monster that has
1000ATK and, though able to be searched out by
things outside the archetype, won't do much good
aside from being a wall with 2800DEF.
