Shaddoll Hound
- #NECH-EN030 FLIP: You can target 1 "Shaddoll" card in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.
If this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can target 1 monster on the field; change its battle position. (Flip monsters' effects are not activated at this time, except "Shaddoll" monsters'.) You can only use 1 "Shaddoll Hound" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Shaddoll Hound
Came out in a DUEA Limited Edition in US, whereas in
Japan, it debuted in New Challengers.
•
1600 ATK is decent stats, but Squamata and Dragon
eclipse it.
•
The Flip Effect is decent, revenue-neutral and can
be helpful at times, but isn't necessary.
•
The graveyard effect doesn't really help you plus,
but it might increase your speed a bit.
Which can help.
But it's still kinda a minus.
•
This card doesn't really do much by itself.
It moreso helps other Shaddolls activate.
•
Not as essential as the previous Shaddolls, but not
bad either.
•
Shaddoll players might want to splash in 1 copy for
more varied play but that's it.

Shaddoll Hound
This card was released in the Deluxe edition before
the set was released in America. This card has had
no real impact on Shaddolls and most players choose
not to play it because it does not generate enough
advantage quickly. Overall, this card just doesn't
cut the already amazing Shaddoll line up and its
shame it isn't better.

Shaddoll Hound is another card from The New
Challengers, although it has been legal since its
release in the Duelist Alliance Deluxe Edition. In
that time, the card has seen next to no play in the
competitive environment, and that likely isn’t going
to change.
Simply put, Shaddoll Hound isn’t very good, as both
of its effects are rather lackluster. Its Flip
Effect allows you to grab any Shaddoll card from
your Graveyard, but much like Shaddoll Hedgehog and
Shaddoll Falco the effect is rather slow. Replacing
a monster isn’t really important as all of them
besides Dragon replace themselves with another card
anyway, while getting back either Shaddoll Fusion or
El Shaddoll Fusion is done better by Shaddoll Core.
Hound’s second effect changes the battle position of
a monster on the field if it goes to the Graveyard
by card effect. Flip Effects don’t activate unless
they’re for a Shaddoll monster, but seeing as the
Shaddolls are the only Flip Effect monsters that are
currently relevant this isn’t going to come up much.
This effect has some uses in that you can flip a
Shaddoll the same turn you set it, but again this is
not necessary; most of the Shaddolls have their
non-Flip Effect as the more desirable one, and the
one exception to this (Falco) is generally summoned
by its own effect, at which point its Flip Effect
can’t be activated in the same turn anyway.
I honestly believe that if Hound’s two effects had
been swapped, and the recovery effect was its
non-Flip Effect, the card would have certainly seen
play; it is the more useful effect but is hampered
by being too slow. As it stands, Hound doesn’t add
much to the Deck that it either needs or can’t
already do better.
It’s best to skip this one if you’re building (or
have already built) Shaddoll.

Shaddoll Hound
We continue are sneak peak at The New Challengers
with are card that was a sneak peak in the Duellist
Alliance Deluxe Edition, in this case another new
Shaddoll card; Shaddoll Hound.
Shaddoll Hound is a DARK/Spellcaster like all
Shaddoll main deck monsters with 1600 ATK and 900
DEF, neither are truly remarkable for a level 4.
As with all main deck Shaddolls, Shaddoll Hound has
two effects one FLIP effect and a Graveyard effect.
The FLIP effect is great allowing you to recycle any
Shaddoll card, be it monster or spell/trap is
fantastic. This allows you to get back a monster you
need or get back one of the Fusion cards.
The graveyard effect allows you to change the battle
position of 1 monster on the field and prevent any
non-Shaddoll flip effects from activating; so don’t
you this in a mirror match. This is again very
useful to either lip one of your Shaddolls face up
and get its FLIP effect or mess with your opponent's
monster to make them easier to destroy.
Of course like all Shaddoll’s only one effect is
allowed per turn, which is probably a good thing as
the combo potential for being able to use both
effects is quite high.
Overall another powerful addition to Shaddolls. Make
sure you have room for at least 1 of these.
