Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing
- #DUEA-EN032 When this card you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Yang Zing" monster from your Deck, except "Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing". When a "Yang Zing" monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard, while this card is in the Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card, and if you do, banish it when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing
Satellarknights, Burning Abyss and Shaddoll
archetypes were introduced in DUEA and each of the
three had been successful in tournament play.
Yang Zings never took off.
Like Burning Abyss, they replace themselves, but
while Burning Abyss effects work on discard, Yang
Zing has an even narrower band (battle/card effect).
Chiwen does have a nice Glow-Up Bulb-like
ability and as a LV1 tuner along with the varying
levels other Yang Zing monsters, it can come in
handy.
It's a pretty good card for the deck type overall.
Yang Zings still have hope yet.
They're getting more support in future
expansions and since Wyrm is a new monster type, it
still has a lot of room to grow and get more
support.
Maybe it's a good time to invest in them while
they're overlooked, but they're just not strong
enough yet.

Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing
This is the key turner to the Yang Zings. His
ability to "float" makes him the ideal piece to
summon multiple monsters. The deck does suffer from
key issues that make them unplayable in the eyes of
shaddolls, burning abyss, and stellar knights. I do
like the concept behind an entire deck of floaters;
but, its just to late for them in the current
format.

Ugh. Yang Zings, why must you be a
disappointment? Well, let's take a look:
Level 1 Light Wyrm 0/0
"When this card you control is destroyed by battle
or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can
Special Summon 1 "Yang Zing" monster from your Deck,
except "Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing". When a
"Yang Zing" monster(s) you control is destroyed by
battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard,
while this card is in the Graveyard: You can Special
Summon this card, and if you do, banish it when it
leaves the field. You can only use 1 "Chiwen, Light
of the Yang Zing" effect per turn, and only once
that turn."
Level 1 means one for one, but that is probably a
bad idea. It is searchable by literally every other
yang zing monster, and light for honest, but again,
probably a bad idea. The tuner interactions are
fairly obvious, and it has that obligatory once per
turn effect tacked on at the end.
The main thing that sets this card apart from the
other Yang Zings is the effect that when a Yang Zing
dies, you can special summon this card from the
grave. A nice effect, and potentially abusable with
Imperial Iron Wall.
Still, like every Yang Zing, it has a multitude of
problems, ranging from Abyss Dweller, Soul Drain,
and Macro Cosmos. Yang Zings bite.
