Satellarknight Deneb

Welcome to Satellarknights week.  This is a competitive archetype, but its also one of the most poorly designed archetypes out there.  As you'll see, a lot of these card effects are derivative of other cards, and they're brainless +1's.

This card is just a clone of Stratos.  You summon it and get a +1 with ease.  Not just Normal Summon, but you can get it off Soul Charge, Call of the Haunted, and most spammy of all, Altair.

Some searchers like 9Volt had reasonable drawbacks attached to them, but Deneb is not that monster.  You search whichever Satellar you need for the situation, and that's usually the one that's not already in your graveyard.

It's generally the best opener the deck has.  You want to summon Deneb turn 1.  And then set Stellarnova Alpha to +1 off of even further.  Then, next turn summon the Altair you just searched and bring back Deneb again.  And if 3 Denebs out of 40 isn't good enough odds, you can use 2 Reinforcements of the Army to search it out.  Or Unukalhai to get it in your graveyard.

There's not really a ton to say about this card other than that Satellarknight decks must run 3 of these.

Assessments

Power – 3/5 ; This card improves the consistency of the deck by miles, but by raw power, its a means to an end rather than an end in itself.

Versatility – 5/5 ; This is a great card to draw, whether its first turn or late game.  You basically add whatever monster you need for the situation.

Dependability – 5/5 ; This card has no costs and while this card does contribute to the archetype, you don't need anything other than Deneb to plus off of Deneb.

Card Advantage – 4/5 ; This card is a +1.  You get a card to immediately replace Deneb.  Enough said.

Speed – 5/5 ; Activates on summon, so removal-based traps (bar Solemn Warning) doesn't work on it.

Satellarknight Deneb

I would argue this card is the hard and soul of the Satellar deck. The ability to search anything in your deck off any summon is amazing. Its a shame Elemental Hero Stratos is banned and this card is allowed to remain. This card remains as a center piece in todays meta.

Satellarknight DenebLIGHT/ Warrior/Effect/Level 4/1500/1000

Time to shine bright this week as we look at ‘tellarknights and we start off with Satellarknight Deneb. Statwise Satellarknight Deneb is a LIGHT/Warrior so there is loads of support for him and has 1500 ATK and 1000 DEF while not the best stats it does make him searchable.

Speaking of searching that is what Satellarknight Deneb’s effect is all about. When this card is summoned you can add a "tellarknight" monster from your Deck to your hand barring another one of these. This is a great searching effect; it doesn’t matter how he is summoned as long as he is and he can get any "tellarknight" monster you want making him very versatile. Also he is a Level 4 which allows him to easy be used for Xyz material.

Overall a searchable searcher, with no major conditions on his effect. For ‘tellarknight monsters his is a must.

Satellarknight Deneb is one of the most focal “tellarknights”, and with good reason. Whenever summoned, Deneb can add a “tellarknight” other than itself from the deck to the hand. “Once per turn” restriction aside, whenever a recruiting effect can occur when a monster is summoned in any way, the card is good. Summoner Monk and Shining Angel come to mind in the deck to bring Deneb out and recruit another “tellarknight”. ATK and DEF are at standard amounts for a searcher, and being a LIGHT attribute and a Warrior-type give Deneb a lot of support. With RoTA at 3, the possibility of having Deneb on your first turn double. All “tellarknight” monsters so far are level 4, making it very easy to Xyz a Rank 4, but not other Ranks.

Deneb can pull a resource for you from the deck, or replenish resources after a big play the same turn it was summoned. Easy to play, straight-forward effect, and combo-friendly, it should always be run in 3's in the archetype.
