Prediction Princess Tarotrei
While it is in theory
splashable, I can't see any deck that would take on
the burden of trying to summon a ritual monster.
Prediction Princesses aren't a very good archetype
either. At the very least, this card plusses
on summon (but too bad, early game, you can't SS
from your deck). Even better, you can
manipulate your opponent's monsters for battle and
yours for flip effects. It's not half bad for
what it's trying to do. Just Ritual Summoning
is a bad mechanic.

In doing CotD for today, I realize I definitely
put the cards I wanted this week in the wrong order,
tomorrows card definitely should have been first
this week, and yesterday should have gone Thursday.
But I digress. Prediction Princess Tarotrei
(say that three times fast) is also a Ritual
Monster. This time, Level 9, and a Light
attributed Fairy (and her Ritual Summoning card does
something neat, allowing you to remove it from play
except the turn it went to the Graveyard to add a
Prediction Princess Monster to the Hand from the
Deck) with 2700 attack and 1200 defense. You
are allowed here to use Monsters from the Hand or
Field, which is good, as Level 9 is a bit difficult
to accomplish. During your End Phase, you're
allowed to Special Summon a flip-monster face-down
from your Hand or Graveyard. Furthermore, once
a turn, during either players' turn, you can target
a face-down Monster on the Field and change it to
attack position. Or target a face-up Monster
on the Field and switch it to face-down defense
position. She's rather disruptive, and the
2700 attack is solid. But she's essentially
the Queen of Postponing, and she destroys nothing
with her various effects. At least not alone,
maybe you do with something you flipped or Special
Summoned face-down, but still. I'd like more
time to see this Deck in action, and lots more
support, so the jury is kinda out for now.

Well here is a combo card if there ever was one.
Prediction Princess Tarotrei is a ritual monster
with a good, self-repleneshing Ritual Spell Card.
The monster itself can be very disruptive. It gives
you free field advantage during the end phase. Then,
during either players' turn and only once that turn,
you get to target a monster and essentially flip it
up for effects or flip it down for defensive plays.
Depending on the flip monster you get (other
Prediction Princesses, Shaddolls, or the old Earth
flip monsters), you gain even more advantage. The
easiest combo is probably with Manju. Summon Manju,
gain its effect, summon this, and use its effect on
Manju to gain the effect again later.
The attack is a bit low for a level nine monster.
Light Fairy makes it a great chaos option in Dark
decks. Rituals can be slow, but this one has a good
spell and no restriction on the level of the
tributed monster.
Score: 4/5 I like this card. Prediction Princess
decks need more support, but this is an excellent
start.
Art: 3/5 She looks cool, but is missing more of the
"Tarot" theme that her name implies.

Remember back when Ritual monsters were a joke? Heh, me too. And no, I don't miss them.
Beautiful to the eye and powerful to boot, we
have one of the new Prediction Princess cards. This
is Tarotrei, who at 2700 ATK is nothing to sneeze
at. Better still, she can guarantee you'll have a
Flip Monster to work with at the end of every turn.
Every. Single. Turn! That might not sound like much,
but think of the potential with Penguin Soldier and
Man Eater Bug, Remember those old fogies? Well, with
a card like this they can be back with a vengeance!
And hey, there's more: You can mess with your
opponent by turning a monster of his/her face down,
giving you an opportunity to take it out with a
high-ATK monster. And likely, that high-ATK monster
will be this pretty lady here. (I can't really see
her face, but judging by her name, I'm guessing
she's a lady). You can also force a face down
Monster face up; use this at your own risk if it's a
face-down opposing monster.
If you can get passed the whole Ritual thing (and
really, the whole Prediction Princess set wants you
to overlook it), then this could be the princess for
you. Heck, give the whole theme a shot if you're
brave enough. It'll make your opponent think twice
about attacking that face-down monster.
Final Score: 5/5 for Prediction deck, 3/5 as a
stand-alone Ritual (and only if you have a few Flip
monsters to back it up)
