Performage Trick Clown
- #CORE-EN018 If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Performage" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, its ATK and DEF become 0, then you take 1000 damage. You can only use this effect of "Performage Trick Clown" once per turn.

Performage, much like yesterday, a new Archtype,
with not a great deal at its disposal yet.
Worth noting, they do have a pretty awesome XYZ
Monster in Performage Trapeze Magician (splashable
outside the Deck, although only for Spellcasters)
who could cause some trouble. These are
interesting Monsters with a wide variety of
effects...they seem to focus on dealing and/or
preventing Damage, but can remove themselves and
each other from play, even on occasion resulting in
Special Summon. None are particularly strong,
and I guess as you might expect from Circus
Monsters, they're just kind of...annoying.
Trick Clown, is a Level 4, Light, Spellcaster
Monster, with 1600 attack. If sent to the
Graveyard (no specification as to how, by whom, or
from where) you can Target and Special Summon a
Performage Monster from your Graveyard. But,
its attack and defense become 0 (which isn't a big
deal, as this is likely an XYZ move anyway) but the
1000 Damage kinda sucks. It's not a LOT of
Damage, but late game or something, it could be too
much to give up, assuming you can at all. As
far as the Monsters we have in this family at
present, this one is average...at best.

I had a chance to see
Performage Trick Clown in action at my locals this
week. It was the only monster he drew for a few
turns and he was able to mitigate his damage to 1000
per turn. This is a Light Level 4 Spellcaster Effect
monster with 1600 Atk and 1200 Def. I like the
stats, but its effect is where it shines. When this
card is sent to the graveyard you can target any
Performage monster in your graveyard and Special
Summon it. This includes itself, but it's Atk and
Def become 0. Then you take the 1000 damage I
mentioned earlier. You can only use this effect once
per turn, which is a reasonable condition.
This is a large part of the
Clownblade deck which is turning tricks in the Meta.
(I love puns.) I am considering putting this in
Shaddoll as a decent Light target and Rank 4 engine.
The score for this card goes up because of its
perfect self synergy and splashability. As long as
you have 1000 life points, this monster will
resurrect itself when it successfully hits the
graveyard. Not to mention of course, you can even
XYZ summon the Performage monster to generate more
advantage. If the monster and the XYZ materials hit
the graveyard, Trick Clown can bring back the XYZ
monster, and the XYZ monster can bring from the deck
any Performage monster.
Basically, all by itself in 3s
this is good. In its own dedicated deck this is
good. It also makes other decks better.
Score: 4.5/5 I feel like even
Traditional might like this for Chaos food.
Art: 4/5 It looks exactly the
way it's described. Accuracy is important.

Performage cards are still fairly new, and I
don't know most of them off the top of my head, so I
don't know if there are any Performage Monsters
worth reviving from the grave with this effect.
Basically, you'll be getting one of your monsters
back, but at the cost of losing this one (either by
effect or battle), and 1000 of your Life Points.
See? Kozmo Farmgirl's cost doesn't look so bad now,
does it? Worse yet, the card you're reviving loses
its ATK and DEF, so unless you're using it to XYZ or
Synchro Summon, it's not worth it. (Though I'll say
it again, I'm not familiar with this theme, so I
could be overlooking something.)
Final Score: 3/5 for Performage decks

Whats up everyone its CJ here and today we have a
very nice card that makes rank 4s very very easy.
Its Performage Trick Clown.
Not really much to be said, a great card that can be
a very good small engine to run in many decks. With
the 1000 life point cost to play it makes it not to
over the top but still very very helpful. The
only thing that makes this card great is the fact we
have so many amazing rank 4s.

Performage Trick Clown
For those of
you who do know, and for those that don’t already,
this funny little clown is a crucial key-piece of a
Deck or a combo that can very easily create almost
any Rank 4 without too much effort, and along with
his best friend in crime Assault Halberd – Thousand
Blades, this little clown brings a knife to any pie
fight that he finds himself involved in… That bad
little clown he is!
This card is
the key piece in Clown Blade as this card is what
inflicts the 1000 LP of damage to you that allows
for you to trigger the effect of Thousand Blades,
thus allowing for almost any 2 card Rank 4 Xyz
without very much effort.
To activate
the effect of Performage Trick Clown, the simple act
of sending it from the Deck to the Graveyard or
detaching it from an Xyz monster is all that is
needed in order for you to be able to use it.
As such
cards such as Foolish Burial, Shaddoll Fusion and
Brilliant Fusion are all easy options that allow you
to send Trick Clown straight from your Deck to the
Graveyard, and of course Mathematician and Summoner
Monk are also more than just a little noteworthy.
If Trick
Clown is in your hand, then monsters such as Assault
Halberd, Goblindbergh, Jigabyte and Performage Hat
Tricker all allow you to be able to combo this into
in many cases 2 Xyz’s in the same turn, and Discard
type cards such as Karma Cut, Phoenix Wing Wind
Blast and Lightning Vortex are all great ways with
which you can send Trick Clown from your hand to the
Graveyard in order to gain its effect.
For a card
with such a seemingly simple effect, this is an
extremely powerful and consistent way in which to be
able to Summon Xyz’s onto the field consistently and
easily, and as such it is actually quite “Splashable”.
And if the
damage every worries you, just ensure that you have
a Performage Hat Tricker on the field first, that
way you take no damage at all.
Rating: 4.
A very consistent and easy way with which to create
Rank 4’s, and this will only get better with the
release of Elder Entity Norden!
