Baneful

It's kind of like a Satellarnova Alpha for Tellars, except this card negates less stuff and it doesn't draw you a card.  Since Majespecters search like Gadgets do (and they revive as Pendulums for more tributing) the cost of this card is easily managed.  The release of Solemn Notice (a generic splashable which does the same exact thing at a 1500 LP cost instead of a tribute) will take the shine off this card but it's a strong card for the deck nonetheless.

Closing the week is Majespecter Tempest.  Yesterday we looked at decent support for a theme.  Today, we look at awesome support for a theme.  This is a Counter Trap, that lets you Tribute a Monster when a Monster is Special Summoned or when a Monster effect is activated, and negate the Summon or activation of the card in question, and destroy it if successful.  You have to Tribute a Wind, Spellcaster Monster again, and this like yesterday, is also a -1, but the payoff is much better.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Majespecters get a Solemn Warning/Divine Wrath combination in the form of Majespecter Tempest. Counter Trap gives it top speed, and a 1-for-1 trade is what every player wants at least out of a card. Tributing a WIND-Spellcaster narrows this cards reach to mostly “Majespecter” monsters. All Majespecters are Pendulum Monsters, meaning you could use this card and gain back the monster you tributed without using any of your resources. All but one of the Majespecter monsters gain effects off Normal and Special Summons, netting you pluses in your End Phase the turn after you Pendulum Summon them back from the Extra Deck.

If it could negate anything like Solemn Judgment it would be near perfect.

Warlockblitz

Majespecter Tempest is a Counter Trap for a very relevant Deck. You Tribute 1 Wind Spellcaster-type Monster to negate the summon of monsters when they would be Special Summoned or just negate the activated effect of a monster and destroy that monster or monsters. Now that's great and all, but I have to compare this to Satellarnova Alpha. Tempest stops monsters from existing at the cost of a tribute. While that tribute is technically less specific than the cost of Alpha, Alpha can stop Spells and Traps and then lets you draw a card. So, objectively I believe Alpha to be better than Tempest. If the tribute is a Pendulum, at least the tribute will send it to the Extra Deck instead of the grave.

Now let's play a little game. The Pojo COTD Top 10 is coming up. I'll put a post today on the Forums under TCG Single Card Discussions and if you comment either what my list would be or the actual list before Monday, Dec 14, I'll send the winner a prize of some sort when the whole list has been revealed. The prize will be something good if you get all 10 cards right, something really great if you get the order right too. My account is from 2004, so old I still called myself Warlock. Anyway, thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed everyone's reviews.

Score: 3/5 Could have been better.
