Apoqliphort Skybase
Like the much hyped (and then forgotten)
Towers/Killer, this is just yet another "win-more"
card.
Taking control of an opponent's monster is a great
effect (and it's almost indestructible).
But if you already control 3 Qli monsters, you're
already poised to win the game, and you don't need
this. If
they limited Skill Drain, perhaps this and Towers
would see some play.
Till then, I dunno

Apoqliphort Skybase (have fun saying Apoqliphort,
although it's actually not the hardest name at all
in this family to say) is a brute of a Monster.
Level 9, 2900 attack (good, but as bad and
unrealistic a standard as it may be, I prefer a
Level 9 Monster to have at least 3200 attack, maybe
more even) and the 2500 defense is solid enough, but
definitely low for it's Level. Can't be
Special Summoned and requires three "Qli" Monster to
be Normal Summoned/Set. If Normal
Summoned/Set, Skybase is unaffected by Magic and
Trap effects, and activated Monster effects, from
any Monster who has a Level or Rank (originally
lower) than this card, again that being 9.
Also, this card's CURRENT level, and there's plenty
of ways for you and your opponent to raise/lower the
Level of a Monster. That's more of a worth
pointing out than a it could bite you in the rear
comment, but it's worth pointing out. Now past
all that, once a turn, you can target (note target)
one Monster your opponent controls and take control
of it until the End Phase. That's huge, as
should be obvious. The three Tributes
SUCKS...but is necessary, as is the no Special
Summoning, because Skybase is powerful, and very
good for a theme. It'll be fun to see if it's
enough (along with the other Qli support) is enough
to bring the Archtype up toward the top.
