Baneful

A bit better than the original Dragoons of Draconia and the Sea Dragoons of Draconia.  After-battle effects are slow and easy to counter with trap cards, but if you can just inflict damage once (and destroy a card), then it'll, in some way, pay for itself.  If you pop two or more cards, then you're plussing off of this.  And it also has all of the benefits that Pendulums inherently have.  Of course, it works for Normal Monsters only, so you're already accounting for effects and plusses its' deck won't have to begin with.

Normal Monsters are still not very viable in big tournaments, and this card won't change it.  But it's a somewhat decent card that might work for locals.

Paladin

While we still wait for the new changes in the Ban List, this week we take a peek into the new set coming out next month, and open with Sky Dragoons of Draconia.  Yea, this may kind of seem like a waste today, but the spoiler for the set is very incomplete right now.  This is a Level 5 Normal/Pendulum Monster, with 2200 attack and 200 defense.  Neither of which will win you many contests, and both very low for a Level 5, especially one with no Monster effect.  He's a 7 on the Pendulum scale, and his Pendulum effect would actually make him worthy of being played in a Normal Monster Deck, obviously the only place he belongs.  Once a turn, when a Normal Monster you control inflicts Damage to your opponent, you're able to select and destroy a card on the Field. So it's a plus he benefits from his own effect.  If this guy were Level 4, or had the attack to justify the Tribute, he'd be a LOT better.

Rating:  2.5/5  Even in the Deck he's barely average being so weak, but you protect him, you could potentially +1 every turn in terms of Field advantage
