Paladin

It's U.A. week...actually the first of two, because after looking at a few cards a bit previously, I thought looking at a collection of cards to become familiar with the theme was necessary.  U.A. Goalkeeper open the week, and he's one of the Monsters who isn't particularly strong (only 1000 attack for a Level 6) but with a very impressive defense wall of 2800.  This is an Earth attributed, Warrior Monster, who comes with the standard effect of being able to be Special Summoned from the Hand by returning another U.A. Monster from the Field to your Hand.  Now, as may or may not be obvious by now, the effect is supposed to have something to do with either the sport or position played by the athlete in the card.  Here we have a goalkeeper, so you should be thinking protection, and that's what you get.  Once a turn during your opponent's turn, you can choose a U.A. Monster you control who once during the turn cannot be destroyed by Battle or card effects.  What a wonderful thing, no?  His defense is going to keep your opponent more than not from being able to run this guy over at the very least, likely forcing them to use a card to destroy it, and either another card to negate this effect, or another card after the first is negated.  He's a great piece to the Deck.

Baneful

Provides the deck a line of defense to round it out.  It's a safe bet, as it's a hard wall to get through, both in battle and in terms of effect removal.  It's still vulnerable to non-destruction removal though.  If you have more than one U.A. it can also help protect your monsters for more aggressive plays.

It's a borderline case, depending on your playstyle.  Overall, run 0 to 1 copies of this card in your UA deck depending on your preference.

2.5/5
