Nekroz of Clausolas is a Water attributed, Level 3, Warrior type Ritual Monster.  She can be Ritual Summoned with any Nekroz Ritual Magic Card.  She's not much to initially look at with the 1200 attack but the 2300 defense is impressive.  She has two effects.  First, you can discard her to the Graveyard to add a Nekroz Magic or Trap card from your Deck to your Hand.  But her second effect, while the first is helpful, is an absolute gem.  During either players' turn, you can target a face-up Monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, and make it's attack 0 and negate its effects until the End of the turn.  That's just beautiful.  She's not the most powerful, but that defense will stand up to plenty.  And easy to Summon at Level 3

Today we review the lowest and weakest of the “Nekroz” monsters: Nekroz Clausolas. Strong DEF and weaker ATK, this Warrior gives you a Sonic Bird effect for Nekroz Ritual Spells if discarded. It's weak ATK won't matter against a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, as it can activate its effect during either turn.
 
While this effect is good, this monster is best used in defense mode and using its effect to help bigger Nekroz monsters run over your opponents Extra Deck summons. Another search for a Ritual Spell is good to go along with Preparation of Rites. The tough part is bringing Clausolas to the field. At Level 3, there aren't too many monsters in the Nekroz deck that can make this guy. A Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz can be used (though you want to use that monster for bigger summons) or a Djinn of Rituals monster like Releaser or Demolisher. The Ritual Spells require exact level of stars, otherwise this monster would be insanely easy to summon. There are few targets from the Extra Deck that someone would likely run to essentially waste a Kaleidoscope  to get Clausolas to the field. While you can use Cycle or Mirror on Shurit (or a copy of Clausolas) to summon Clausolas, this guy may be the toughest of the “Nekroz” monsters you will likely run in the deck.

Clausolas is, in a strange way, less necessary to the Nekroz deck than some of the other cards that it runs. Manju can grab ritual Spells on a normal summon and once you have (a) Ritual Spell(s) you can use their secondary effects to tutor them, or otherwise grab them back with Preparation Of Rites or Nekroz of Unicore.

Clausolas is still completely necessary for the deck, however. Being  a warrior means that it is searchable by Shurit, which opens up  a lot of potential for OTKs. It’s also just another searcher adding to the ridiculous level of consistency of the deck. Because of Clausolas, a lot of hands that would otherwise do nothing, such as opening up with Preparation Of Rites and/or Brionacs as the only tutor cards. It also, lest we forget, basically turns Senju Of The Thousand Hands into another copy of Manju, which is more significant the more you think about it.

In terms of it’s on field effect, Clausolas is decent, though it’ll be rarely summoned for that reason, pretty much every monster that Clausolas hits is better dealt with by Brionac, but since it has a quick  effect which is effectively as good as a Fiendish Chain there are, now and again, times where it’s relevant, mostly vs Tellars and BA. On the other hand, the biggest reason to summon Clausolas is still going to be because it’s level is convenient for the Djinn lock, which is a two card combo while using it.

It’s not the best card in the deck by a large margin but it’s still fairly necessary.
