Harpie Harpist
- #CROS-EN099 This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while on the field or in the Graveyard. You can only use each of these effects of "Harpie Harpist" once per turn.
● When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Winged Beast-Type monster you control (other than this card) and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; return them to the hand.
● During the End Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard because it was sent there this turn: You can add 1 Level 4 Winged Beast-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.

There's a number of benefits this card can
provide for a Harpie deck. It's another Harpie
name for Hysteric Sign and Harpie's Hunting Ground.
It replaces itself when destroyed, searching
Harpie's Channeler, Harpie's Dancer and Harpie Lady
1. It's Normal Summon effect, if you have a
monster to spare, can remove an Extra Deck monster
and set you up for a direct attack. And 1700
ATK, considering you can boost it with HHG and HL1,
is good stats for a monster with quality effects.
Harpie's won't be high tier, especially in a format
where Spells/Traps are relatively less important,
but they can win locals or top Regionals.
Harpist doesn't address the core weaknesses of the
deck, such as having a strategy other than
Spell/Trap removal, but it improves the consistency
of the deck.

Harpie Harpest opens are week as we dive into our
new set. This is another good Harpie support
card, how about that? It's Harpie Lady on the
Field or Graveyard, and is Wind, of course.
Level 4, 1700 attack, and 600 defense. When
Normal Summoned you can target a Winged-Beast on the
field other than this card and return it to the
Hand. Wind Monsters like to bounce.
During the End Phase if this card is in the
Graveyard, select and add a Winged Beast from your
Deck to your Hand who has attack lower than 1500,
like Harpie Lady. I know there aren't many HL
Decks out there, but if there were, you'd be playing
one or two of these. Love seeing good support
for old themes

Hello Pojo Fans,
New set sneak peak, new cards to review! Harpie
Harpist adds new support to the Harpie archetype,
potentially revitalizing their playability. Two
effects, each able to be used once per turn. Good
stats and compatible with the rest of the Harpie
Winged-Beast support. Also Harpiest is considered “Harpie
Lady” while on the field and in the grave, adding
more “Harpie” support for Pet Dragon or Pet Baby
Dragon.
When Harpie Harpist is Normal Summoned you have the
option of popping another Winged-Beast of yours and
1 monster your opponent controls back to the hand.
While you typically want all the Winged-Beasts in a
Harpie deck on the field, this effect is handy for
getting rid of that troublesome monster that's
blocking you from your opponents LP, as well as
getting around monsters that gain effects off being
destroyed.
If Harpie Harpist is in the grave the turn she was
sent there by any means (monster, spell, trap
effect(s)), you can search out a Level 4 1500ATK or
less Winged-Beast from your deck. This in a Harpie
deck will give you a free Channeler, Dancer, or any
of the Harpie Lady 1, 2, or 3 monsters.
While the first effect can be beneficial for any
deck that uses an abundance of Winged-Beasts (Blackwings),
the second effect is mainly for Harpie decks only.
Harpie Harpist could find its way into Blackwings if
they had a space for her, but that deck is pretty
clogged as is with the ability to run 3's of
Blizzard, Kalut, and Gale. Harpies always could use
some support and this card offers that. Special
summon a few Harpies off of Elegant Egotist,
Hysteric Party, Summoner Monk, or Symbol of
Heritage, then Normal Summon Harpist and use her
first effect. Then Xyz using Harpist, detach her,
and gain her effect at the end of the turn.
Advanced-3/5- Limited to Winged-Beasts, but useful
with all the Special Summoning Winged-Beasts do.

A new booster set means new cards to review. We
start with Harpie Harpist. Weighing in at 1700/600
for ATK/DEF and is a WIND/Winged Beast type. Harpist
is an added boost to its type and attribute. When
normal summoned, you can target 1 other Winged Beast
monster you control and 1 face up monster your
opponent controls, and Harpist sends those monsters
back to the hands of their owners. Also, during the
end phase of the turn Harpist was sent there, you
can add 1 level 4 Winged Beast monster with 1500 ATK
or less from your deck to your hand. In a Harpie
deck, this is a welcome addition to that lineup, as
it can search out several Harpie monsters, but
outside of that, not really much help. If you are
using this card, then you're using Harpies.

Advanced: 2.5 (Harpie deck only)
