Clear Wing Synchro Dragon
- #CROS-EN046 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn, when another Level 5 or higher monster activates its effect on the field: You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster effect is activated that targets exactly 1 Level 5 or higher monster on the field (and no other cards): You can negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. If this card's effect destroys a monster, this card gains ATK equal to the destroyed monster's original ATK until the end of this turn.

It cripples your opponent's LV5+ monsters (might
hurt Nekroz, Shaddoll fusions and the like) but is
still victim to the effects of low level monsters
and a myriad of level-less XYZ monsters. It
can't be targeted by monsters, but it's still victim
to spell and traps. The ATK boost effect is a
little perk that is more suited toward defense
during your opponent's turn than OTKing on your
turn. This card has good effects but they have
a very narrow band of scope, which isn't too bad for
an Extra Deck monster (there's not a plethora of
good LV7 Synchros anyway) so I'll grade it a little
leniently. Not a great card but still good-ish.

We got a good one to close out the week, in Clear
Wing Synchro Dragon! This is a Level 7, Wind
attributed, Dragon type Synchro, who is Synchro
Summoned with a Tuner and one or more non-Tuner
Monsters. Clear Wing has 2500 attack and 2200
defense. Once a turn, during either player's
turn, when an effect Monster activates an effect,
you can negate said effect and destroy the Monster
in question. So long as said Monster is Level
5 or higher. Secondly, once, also during
either player's turn, when an effect Monster
activates an effect that targets exactly and only
one Level 5 or higher Monster on the Field, and no
other cards, negate it as well, and if successful,
destroy said card. If this cards effect
destroys a Monster, Cleat Wing gains attack equal to
the destroyed Monster until the End of the turn.
So it's got a strong attack of its own, it has
protection and destruction built in, in two separate
ways, both broad and specific, and can boost its own
attack occasionally. There's a lot of hype for
this card. At the very least, Dragons will
enjoy it.

Hello, fair readers, and welcome to, what is
without a doubt, the best card of the week, in Clear
Wing Synchro Dragon. For those of you who watch the
anime, this is one of the primary monsters of the
highspeed-hothead that is Yugo, and the next
Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon counterpart after Dark
Rebellion Xyz Dragon.
As with its two counterparts, its stats are middle
of the road, clocking in at 2500 attack and 2000
defense. For a level 7 synchro, these stats are
fine, with only Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing, and
Scrap Archfiend beating its attack, with 2600 and
2700 respectively. Being a wind has no notable
benefits here, but being a Dragon certainly does,
and due to it being a Level 7 Dragon Synchro, you
can summon this guy through Ultimaya Tzolkin, an
interesting synchro recently released.
As for its two effects, while not very proactive,
are insanely reactive, and can make this guy a pain
in the ass to kill. Basically, during either players
turn, if another Level 5 or higher monster activates
his effect, OR a monster effect targets 1 Level 5 or
higher monster on the field, negate that effect and
destroy that monster. As for what this works
against, obviously the list is way too big, but
suffice to say it stops a lot, ranging from Shaddoll
Construct to Castel the Avian Skyblaster. For
whatever reason, after it successfully negates and
destroys, it will gain the monster's attack until
the end of the turn. This is mostly negligible, as
it will most likely use its effect on your
opponent's turn, thus meaning you can't attack with
it. Take note that both effects can be used in one
turn as well.
All in all, a very, very solid level 7 synchro.
Although, it may be too prone to being run over
instead of targeted.
